This former B list indie darling who was the indie it girl was in tears after a meeting with her agent last week when she wanted to know why she couldn't make some money promoting products by getting her photo taken with them and the agent told her it is because no one knows who she is any longer. Sad.

ReplyDeleteWell, IMDB says she has two movies coming out this year, one of them a Woody Allen project, so someone must remember who she is.

ReplyDeleteSaw her in You've Got Mail last week in which she played a very prepped out, kind of bitchy role - very unlike her wacky indie persona. But that was in 1998, and outside of Louie last year (or was it the year before?), I can't think of anything she's done lately.
ReplyDeleteAs with many other indie darlings (Rosanna Arquette, Chloe Sevigny, Kirsten Dunst, etc.), Posey has just aged out of the market. If you don't turn to mainstream TV when you start becoming unrecognizable as a ditsy manic pixie dream girl (ie, Zooey Deschanel), you're sunk.
