  1. I went every year as a cat. It was easy. When I got older, I became sexy cat.

  2. An angel. Ironic considering me now but my mom made it for me and it was special.

    2. Awww that so cutie @ducky!!! I love that! My favorite costumes are the Lara Croft and Jessica Rabbit costumes that I made myself Project Runway style. Nothing like a custom fit! My mommy sewed all my costumes for me as a kid and taught me to do the same for myself as an adult now ;)

  4. One year people helped me dress up as a hobo with a stubble "beard" made out of cigarette ash a sack attached to a stick and overalls with a checkered shirt..

  5. One year, I wore all black and busted open a bunch of my dad's glow sticks (he was military) and drew a skeleton.

  6. My mom didn't "do" Halloween, so we always had to throw a sheet over our heads at the last minute or something.
As an adult I loved my sexay Pirate Girl costume!

  10. As a child, Big Bird costume my mom made to perfection with yellow fur and an awesome stuffed head that went atop my head...beak came down so you couldn't see my face. As an adult, Kelly Osborne costume back in the late nineties or when I went as Courtney Love and my buddy was Kurt Cobain with gun/hole in back of his head (tasteless, I know).

  11. A toucan. My mom sewed a ton of feathers onto a black shirt and I had bird feet slippers and a toucan beak. Those feathers fell off everywhere but it was the coolest costume.

  12. Trash Bag! We were so poor, I took a large trash bag and used it as pants stuffing it with old newspapers to fill out. ;-)

  13. I don't remember any costumes I had when I was little. We probably had something from a box with plastic mask. One year I wore my ex's work uniform and he wore my high school cheerleading outfit. I put a pretty bow in his hair. His friends died laughing.

  15. Princess Leia. I don't know how my mom made those two round buns on the side of my head, but she did a great job. Then she made a dress out of a sheet and lent me a medallion necklace she had.

  16. I loved my Raggedy Ann costume. Out of all the costumes I wore for Halloween growing up, that was the one that made me happiest.

  17. No Halloween where I grew up, but always a fab bonfire.
Used to live in SF & my kiddles loved watching everyone in their costumes walking down to the castro. Lots of Dorothy's . Red slippers are made in all sizes.
My favorite was a guy who dressed as Winona Ryder just after the shoplifting debacle. Looked just like her, well sorta, & carried a Saks 5th Ave bag with loads of cut off price tags etc. very witty, made me laugh a lot. I loved living there. Miss it.

  19. My mom made a lot of my costumes, but the two that she made out that I loved were a Princess (I got to wear make up) and then I was Raggedy Andy (a friend already had a Raggedy Ann costume). The best one was when me and my best friend wore my skating costumes and instead of ice skates we just wore roller skates. Made for a great night of tricker treating because we were able to cover so much more distance faster. ;-)

  21. Years ago I decided to go to a cistume party straight from work, I wasn't in costume BUT I'd just cut my blonde hair into a bob. So, I stopped at store and got some hair gel (and probably a wine cooler). I got in my car and took some front strands of hair and made it stick up, stiff and erratic. Then I drove to the party.
When I walked in everyone laughed and said, "Heeyy Look, Mary's here!!". I won a prize, even from a party full of great costumes.

  22. A gypsy, a homemade costume with flowy skirt, lots of jewelry, dark makeup and a bandana around the head.

  23. I loved the pink princess costume my mom made me when I was a girl. I had a tall pointy hat covered in foil and a wand (not sure why because I wasn't a fairy princess).

  24. I too went homemade route-hobo, boy scout- dressed in bros uniform-, ghost but my favorite was gypsy. With loads of jewelry, a long skirt, headscarf, rings, crystal ball and giant hoop earrings, i thought i was soooo mysterious! Meanwhile, how mysterious cld a blue eyed redhead look, lol. Truthfully tho, any costume as long as cld get that candy. Didnt really even like eating it so much, but man, i loved the getting of it!!

  26. When I was 7, my parents bribed me with extra candy into being a girl Paul McCartney. They then did the same with my 5 yr old brother as John Lennon, and my 3 yr old twin bros as Ringo and George. It was the 80's, and while the neighborhood kids weren't really familiar with the Beatles, I didn't care because of the awesome extra candy bribes we got. Best. Halloween. Ever.

  27. Boy George. Made my own wig from braided yarn and assorted crap, wore a overcoat and some neon spandex, terrible makeup, and ankle booties. Loved Boy George.

  28. One year I went as a Christmas present. I wrapped a box in holiday gift wrap and with a leotard and tights underneath, wore it as a dress. Big bow in my hair and bows on my shoes.
Another year I went as a pumpkin, same idea except it was an extra large fluorescent orange hunting vest, and a big green bow in my hair.
