Alexander McQueen (sorry Oscar)
I like a little more danger to my glam
No normal person is ever dressed by a designer just walkway models and red carpet jerkoffs.
The Blonds. Or Zuhair Murad
Balfour
Frank Lloyd Wright
Gaultier
if your asking who my fav designers are----Marc Jacobs and John Varvatos....not that I can afford much--Club Monaco is just as good for guys and a lot cheaper
So many that I love! Maybe Zuhair Murad...
Tom Ford
@o_O, I love Frank Lloyd Wright. I've toured houses of his in both Illinois and Buffalo. FLW trivia - his son was the inventor of Lincoln Logs.
...and Lacroix, obviously!
Michael Kors.
Valentino
Mackie
I'm a Betsy Johnson gal myself. If I need something special, my designer friend makes it special for me.
Tadashi Shoji.
Ralph Lauren
And the vintage Mugler, I always loved his cutting edge fashions
Of course sweetie!
Tom Ford & would love to be a princess in Oscar
I'm simple i like the Kors and Tory stuff i see at the mall
Jacques Pennais.
Balenciaga
Michael Kors' clothes fit me well. I buy MK at the outlets or Nordstrom Rack.
De La Renta and Carolina Herrera would be my dream designers.
I love so many but, I would say Dolce Gabbana. Those two could bring out my Italiano glamour goddess, no doubt.
@Murphy - my wedding dress was Tadashi. Love his stuff
I'm with @Lady H - McQueen
Let's not forget Ronald McDonald Couture
No pickles, extra Big Mac sauce
@TruciaS. Me toooo
Valentino. For shore!!
But I do love me the simple CK designs that Jen Aniston has worn.
But, she wears them better than I could.
Jacylyn Smith
Badgley Mischka
@teresa! Welcome back my glam sista newlywed! Congrats and I eventually want the wedding deets! But for now...I demand details on the dress!!!!
Mwah!!!!! XoXo
Who could even choose? I personally like simple. All the high fashion designers make weird looking clothes. I'd take a pair of 7 jeans over anything.
Lanvin and Balmain
caroline Herrara
Valentino
Oscar
Rolland Mouret or Dior by Galliano or Jean Paul Gauthier
Kunty Karl. Making him dress someone larger than a size 0 would delight me to no end.
I would have said Dolce and Gabbana 20 years ago, still wear their perfumes though, but now I would say Giorgio Armani. Armani does simple and classic, always had, always will.
Lagerfeld!
Elie Saab.
ARMANI ALL THE WAY
Oscar De La renta died:(
Armani clothes are beautiful. Just the cut & feeling the fabric, it's fabulous.
I bought an Armani leather coat a few months ago. It's my pride & joy. Very gorgeous. Leather trench. Very soft.
I've just got to get the guts to wear it outside!
Dame Vivienne Westwood
Giani Versace
Ralph Lauren or Armani for the classic looks, Alexander McQueen for the Anglophilia and funsies.
Great question about the perfume.
It's Armani 'she' for me, followed by Mania.
D&G the one.
Wear my perfume everyday, no matter what I'm doing.
Chanel no 5 forever. It's very special.
Also Viv westwoods perfume boudoir is amazing.
1st minute smells quite pretty. Leave it 10 mins & it smells like a boudoir. Incredibly sexy.
Carolina Herrera or Prada
@Lady H - Hey girl HEYYYYY
OMG that bag!!
My dress was really simple, floaty and backless. I loved it. It's too bad that you only wear your dress for that one night b/c I would totally rock it again given the chance :D
I'm a straight bloke, I guess zara is OK for me.
Brioni, or Armani.
Zara never fits me! I am 6ft and 160 pounds and always walk outta that store feeling like a fat ass lol
Balmain
Monique Lhullier
I can't believe no one has said some of the greats:
Kathy Ireland
Jacqueline Smith
Kathy Lee
stuff by Duff
leggings by Lilo
Ying and Yang by Katie Holmes
fredericks of hollywood.
I honestly couldn't care less about any of them. You want to impress me? Show me someone who can make clothes that look good on people, instead of just on hangers.
THAT'S "who" I'll be wearing.
Derek at 6' and 160# you are not a fat ass...I'm 5'9" and weigh more than you!
But in the olden days when I was 120# I used to go to Azzedine Alaia and try on dresses. Everyone though I was a model because models can actually look quite plain, the designers need a blank canvas. It was so much fun but no way could I ever buy any of it..
I love Tom Ford and CK and Elie Saab dresses are gorgeous if you're curvy.. Sadly I am built like a boy.
I love Tadashi Shoji and have several of his gowns. I also have several Ralph Lauren gowns and a bunch of his dresses because the fit my fat ass so well. I need a new gown every year for the Marine Corps Ball or I wouldn't own so many gowns.
That being said, I would choose Coco Chanel, so very classy.
@skippy
i agree. budoir IS amazing
lagerfeld & lauren
Calvin Klein
Zuhair Murad is the only designer whose creations have really "spoken" to me. I love his beautiful gowns!
When I was in my 20s I had 4 Pucci outfits, but once I had kids i never had a flat stomach again...1st kid 9lbs, 2nd kid 10lbs 2oz. I'm 5'2". Silk jersey isn't forgiving. Now, in my 60s I love Carolina Herrera. There is an outlet in Woodbury Commons that used to sell the same garments that were sold in Saks and Neiman Marcus for 80% off. I bought several pieces and the fabrics were unbelievable and the strapless dresses have bras built in that hook up before you zip up. The last time I went there, 3 or 4 years ago, they had no designer garments, but had instead a line called CH which looked like it was made just for outlets or Walmart. Each and every Oscar de la Renta garment is a magnificent piece of artistry. His color pallet and his fabrics are perfection, but my lifestyle is more informal. Every fashion week I view his collection on Getty and it is pure joy. Now, my favorite designers are L.L.Bean and Eileen Fisher...comfort.
Tom Ford
@Blasie I hear you! Comfort has become paramount to me too. I also live in the sticks and have to order clothes online. My go to's are Ann Taylor, Loft, Ralph Lauren and J.Jill. I find that their sizing is consistent. If I lived in a cold weather state again, L L Bean would definitely be a go to. Growing up I loved their flannel lined jeans and duck boots. We would make a yearly pilgrimage to Freeport to shop in the middle of the night night.
Carolina Herrera.
The late Mr. de la Renta.
If I am feeling feminine, then Rodarte. If I want androgynous, edgy, lux minimalism, Rick Owens.
Or maybe Lacroix for a ball.
Dolce & Gabbana
Coco Chanel.
Ralph Lauren
Bob Ringwood using deigns from 1989's Batman movie, specifically, the Batman costume itself.
Galliano
Actually my mom dressed me when I was growing up (as in, she sewed all my clothes) and I was mortified to be walking around in couture clothes as a young teenager. Little did I know how lucky I was back then.
When I was 15 she made me this suit that I dream about to this day, and wish I had kept it though there's no way it would fit me today.
Imagine a Chanel-style suit with a short jacket and a mini skirt, made of green bouclé wool in a plaid shot through with skinny pink, aqua, orange and yellow stripes. With self-buttons rimmed in gold and a nehru style collar. The jacket was lined in hot pink raw silk.
I wore it with a pair of high heel leather ankle booties.
My mom dressed me up in that and we went downtown, she in her own couture suit that she had made for herself (she looked like a cross between Grace Kelly and Ingrid Bergman, she was so beautiful).
I remember that day still ... and how embarrassed I was because everybody was staring at us.
Don't DO that to your 15 year old daughters, they will not appreciate it until maybe 30 years later...
pb.. any clue who your mom was?? please??
@sugarbread, she wasn't famous. Not even locally.
First Choice: Alexander McQueen
Second Choice: Versace
but they would both have to be alive and dressing only me.
