***WARNING: SPOILERS AHS FREAKSHOW*** *Mordrake was an EXCELLENT device for getting the narratives of the freaks out. Brilliant way to expose their back stories. The Demon face graphics could been better though *Mordrake's visits were also loved cuz it reminds me of Walken in the Prophecy Anyone else see that connection? *Also: until now my friend told me Mordrake was played by Quinto so I've been tripping on how much he looks like Wes Bentley...cuz he IS! Lol *Interesting how Seal Boy could not tattoo the one part of himself he liked (face). This concept has always intrigued me. I recently had this old male colleague say that he didn't realize for a long time that I had face piercings because girls that are pretty like me don't pierce their face. I asked him why he thought that and he said that people only pierce and tattoo things they don't like about themselves and want to camouflage or peacock. I told him very politely that his theory needed some reevaluating. *During the intro song when Emma Roberts' name pops up, my friend & I discovered There is some sort of conjoined twin that is fucking itself...
*So THAT'S how all the characters came together. Amazing- the clowns' performance saved Elsa and the hostages *LOVE Elsa's Dominatrix story...Saw OG, baby! Overall, the episode felt very Palaniuk in the narratives. Invisible Monsters meets Snuff to be precise. *So Dandy just upgraded to murderer. Worth noting that the mask seemed to give him some confidence. *I can start to see the drug use wearing Evan Peters' face. He is starting to remind me of a friend who died of heroin OD a couple years ago
*I correctly predicted that Twisty would probably be an example of what happens when the freaks don't have a community. This is is Anomie/Strain Theory 101. Once he lacked a troupe and the means to legally perform, he went to the dark side and started kidnapping the kiddos for an audience. Also a nice tie in to remind that "freaks" have a high suicide rate due to stigmatization and isolation. Glad Twisty finally found a new home.
*But now that they have been more integrated, are they still "freaks?" That theme taps into an interesting debate on difference vs co-optation.
Yes. @pumpkintits and I usually share our reviews/thoughts at night time on the last post of the day. I am merely re-posting because Enty actually gave us a forum and I don't know if mah boo saw my notes from last night
I like it but I will not fully endorse it until they bump off Emma Roberts. She should have an (un)fortunate encounter with Woody, the human woodchipper.
This season is missing something I cannot put my finger on it. I was sooo sad by Twisty's story and his ultimate........ I hate Dandy UGH he is soooo annoying.
I'm so sad to see Twisty go. He delighted me every time he showed up on screen. So I guess the narrative is now turning to Dandy being the Big Bad and a lesson on how you can't judge a book by its cover.
As I just commented over at Jezebel, I will say again, last night's episode was probably the scariest hour of broadcast television I have ever seen. Maybe I'm just a sissy la-la but I was on the edge of my seat the whole episode! LOVING this season.
I thought last night's episode was the best yet; finally brought the horror to American Horror Story- poor damaged Elsa! I was really hoping the maid would take Dandy out, though.
I LOVED last season and I keep waiting for this season to live up to the standard set by last season. I will say that last night was the best episode yet.
Thanks for givin us our own post Entyboo

THOUGHTS?!?
You had this written out prior to post?
DeleteYes. @pumpkintits and I usually share our reviews/thoughts at night time on the last post of the day. I am merely re-posting because Enty actually gave us a forum and I don't know if mah boo saw my notes from last night
DeleteLast night was great & actually had sympathy for Twisty. Knew Dandy was going to a freak but to have the ba**s to kill Ms Patti - whoa!
DeleteHeeyyyyy we get our own post???
DeleteNow just get on the soa. Scandal and htgawm bandwagon enterns..
Hey pumpkintits! I just saw your post on last nights last pics section! Thank you boo!
DeleteYes I do watch Scandal and HTGAWM. Remember @ducky and I used to do our little post-show Thursday chats?
Now we've got SOA Tuesdays (only a few weeks left, sad face),
AHS Wednesdays, and Homeland/Walking Dead Sundays
This season is boring
ReplyDeleteAlso if you missed this yesterday, check out this abandoned theme park that was destroyed by Katrina. It looks so much like the AHS set design...soooo creepy!!!
ReplyDeleteI like it but I will not fully endorse it until they bump off Emma Roberts.
ReplyDeleteShe should have an (un)fortunate encounter with Woody, the human woodchipper.
This season is missing something I cannot put my finger on it. I was sooo sad by Twisty's story and his ultimate........ I hate Dandy UGH he is soooo annoying.
ReplyDeleteAnd poor Elsa damnnnnnnn her back story sucked!
SPOILER ALERT!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sad to see Twisty go. He delighted me every time he showed up on screen. So I guess the narrative is now turning to Dandy being the Big Bad and a lesson on how you can't judge a book by its cover.
But if Mordrake taught us anything about AHS, the dead can always come back! I hope we get to see Zombie Twisty
ReplyDelete@lady, not in this season. In an interview Ryan Murphy said once you're dead you're dead.
DeleteAs I just commented over at Jezebel, I will say again, last night's episode was probably the scariest hour of broadcast television I have ever seen. Maybe I'm just a sissy la-la but I was on the edge of my seat the whole episode! LOVING this season.

ReplyDeleteI was really hoping the maid would take Dandy out, though.
I dont. Discussion over, lol. Horror just not my thing is all.
ReplyDeleteNeeds more Jessica Lange, less everyone else. I'm not even really enjoying Kathy Bates or Sarah Paulson this season, and they're my faves.
ReplyDeleteFor whatever reason, I just can't get interested in this season. Too many disjointed stories maybe?
There are soooooo many characters & Angela Basset is sadly underused.
ReplyDeletePEOPLE! Someone peed into a cup! I thought that I had seen everything, but alas...I was wrong. The writers of this show are twisted. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI am a 'fraidy cat, and I didn't find last night to be very scary at all.
ReplyDeleteI also disagree with the people who dislike Dandy. I adore him and his little tantrums. The way his mom coddles him is exquisite.
got it!!!
ReplyDeleteFreakin fucking clowns. I hate clowns.
ReplyDeleteHey everyone ahs cast will be on wwhl. Tonight with Andy cohen.
ReplyDeleteoooh thanks for the tip, Sugar!
ReplyDeleteThis season is neck in neck for me with Asylum for favorite.
ReplyDeleteI love the whole thing-and AB will have more front and center time-just not yet!!!
I LOVED last season and I keep waiting for this season to live up to the standard set by last season. I will say that last night was the best episode yet.
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to watch at least the first season, as I love Connie Britton, but I have too much other stuff to watch. One of these days...
ReplyDeleteot soa cast will al be on conan nov 11
