Mr.X Blind Item #2

What B-list singer and celebrity spawn dubbed the singing voice of that A-list actress and Oscar winner/nominee in that movie where she sings those '80s cover songs? She went uncredited for this job (but got a nice paycheck), and was pissed off when the actress did the talk show circuit saying she had so much fun singing.

    1. The Wedding Singer and Music and Lyrics. That was gonna drive me mad.
Drew sang in both of those. They have 80's music.
No idea for who the singer is though.

  9. But the singer is a singer not an actress....

  10. Nobody got it yet the blind is about the singer and the actress. :(

  11. Sparks is a very good pastability

  12. I'm going with Alexa Ray Joel as the singer

  13. CZJ came from the British Musical Stage…she can sing

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'd go with Kelly Osbourne or Lisa Marie Presley for the singer. Goop for the actress.

  15. Anna Kendrick Cups song? Don't think its CZJ as she did Chicago way before that. And BTW she was in Rock of Ages? Good gawd they cast such old people in roles clearly written for people much younger.

    1. No she does musicals on Broadway

  16. Don't forget, CZJ sang in Chicago as well

  17. CZJ sounded exactly the same as she did in Chicago. Plus I don't think she is considered A list in enty speak.

  18. How about Juliane Hough on RofA and Alexa Ray? Says singer and celeb spawn. Jordan Sparks isn't celeb spawn and Goopy wouldn't do it without credit.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yes...@sherry she was....it was a horrible flick..skip it.
Poor mr x this is a toughie..because gwyn can sing (she has live and is surprisingly good)/ CZJ has a background but rock music maybe not her forte...
For the dubbed Lisa Marie works well!

Lattanzi/Alexa ray aren't B list singers....more celeb offspring I think (though Alexa talented for sure)

  20. *for the dubber , Lisa marie*

  21. Could this be Kidman? She sang both in Happy Feet and in Moulin Rouge.

  22. Sherry-- Sparks' father was an NFL football player--Phillipi Sparks.

  23. What other movie has 80s cover songs? It has to be Rock of Ages. Even though CZJ can sing, I think this fits her. That said, if it is her, you will need a more mature voice to sing for her, which then puts Lisa Marie in very good standing for being the non - credited spawn.

  24. Nicole Kidman, "Moulin Rouge"?

  25. Miss Piggy in Muppets Most Wanted!

  27. Has Drew been nominated for an Oscar though?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Mama Mia could fit too

    ReplyDelete
  29. The Fabulous Baker Boys, Michelle Pfieffer.

    ReplyDelete
  30. So the Oscar winner is Meryl Streep, the movie is Mama Mia, and the singer is..... IDK

    ReplyDelete
  31. Well...I know Goopy is the singer and that horrible movie her father directed.

  34. CZJ is a B+ according to Enty.

Catherine Zeta-Jones – B+ list mostly movie actress who is an Academy Award winner/nominee and should be A list based on her body of work but who doesn’t work much lately.

  35. Chloe Lattanzi is a shit singer, nobody paid her to sing anything.
She was on that singing show, I think the one looking for a new INXS singer, and it was painful to listen to.

    ReplyDelete
  36. You scared me Sarah I watched that series and I do not remember Chloe but I do remember seeing her sing Never Tear Us Apart on a short lived series called Rock the Cradle, another singer competition show, I think I only watched one or two shows and thought it was crap though I think that had the rocking band on it from the Rockstar INXS and Supernova series, some of them are in the live band for The Voice now.

  37. Is it possible CZJ did the vocals or someone could have done the original vocals but the director was not happy with them and had someone else dub them. Though I agree CZJ did the vocals in Chicago so I found nothing odd about her singing in Rock of Ages she has a singing voice that sounds like her speaking voice IMO, some people don't but many do.

    ReplyDelete
  38. No way it's CZJ. That woman has a set of pipes.

What about Gwyneth in that country music movie?

    ReplyDelete
  39. CZJ is a performer and always has been. She's a strong singer.

I would be more inclined to say it was Gwynnie. Gwynnie's voice is ok, but it's not that great.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Meryl streep. Mamma Mia. . Carnie Phillips. .Wilson Phillips. . Or Wendy or chyna but I'm guessing carnie and mamma mia..

    ReplyDelete
  41. Streep in Mama Mia and...?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Mama Mia? Isn't that Abba songs? They were 70's not 80's.

@Sherry - Anna Kendrick was on Broadway and nominated for a Tony. She's been singing her whole life and she did the Cups song during her audition for the movie. It's also not a song from the 80's, it's a traditional song, (minus the drumming on cups part,) made popular by June Carter Cash (Or someone in that era.)

  43. This blind makes no sense. There's no answer.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Meryl Streep can do her own singing; I believe her original training was an as opera singer/with an opera coach, and the first thing I ever saw her in was a PBS broadcast version of Elizabeth Swados' version of Alice in Wonderland. (Granted, that was nearly 30 years ago, but she sounded just fine.)

  45. Don't know if Julianne Hough counts as oscar winner/nominee, but in Rock of Ages her singing voice sounds really similar to Alexa Ray Joel's voice.
