Marian Seldes Has Died

Marian Seldes, a multiple Tony Award nominee and former world record holder for consecutive Broadway performances, who starred in plays ranging from whodunits to the work of Tennessee Williams, Samuel Beckett and, especially, Edward Albee, who also found time to play Mr. Big's mother died Tuesday at her home in New York. She was 88.

  1. One of the great frustrations of stage work....when you're gone, so is the work. I still like the immediacy of theater, but it's longevity can't compare to recorded media.

      Actually, today & yesterday is reminiscent of OG CDaN. Blinds & quick stories intermingled. I've missed that format. Hope this continues.

  8. Awww. I saw her twice in plays. Once, on Broadway in Deathtrap and years later in San Francisco in Three Tall Women. RIP.

  10. Just watched her episode of "Wings" yesterday too, coincidentally ("Death Becomes Him"). She was great at playing the socialite Eleanor Kingsbury. Reading her wiki, it reads that her mother was a socialite. She seemed like a great lady. It also read that she died in her Manhattan apartment after a lengthy illness. I hope she didn't suffer. RIP.
