Hannah Graham Suspect Tied To Ten Murders And Rapes
Hannah Graham's mother released a statement yesterday begging for closure from her suspected killer, Jesse Matthew. Jesse Matthew has remained silent and the family wants to know anything they can about their daughter. meanwhile, The National Enquirer says in an article this week that Matthew is now being investigated for as many as ten different murders and rapes. I can't believe the guy was never caught prior to this. The only case directly linked back to Matthew right now is a murder in 2009 of Morgan Harrington, who was 20 at the time of her murder. Police in areas close to Charlottesville have been digging through their unsolved cases related to women in their early 20's and so far there are eight more which including Hannah and Morgan, would bring the total to ten. Maybe the guy will confess to them all and show police where the bodies are buried to bring closure to the respective families.
those poor girls. their families. ~sigh~
ReplyDeleteHoly shit this guy LOOKS like the stuff of nightmares. This picture is at a different angle, but hes like 6'6 and close to 400 lbs. Those poor girls. It makes me uncomfortable just looking at him
ReplyDeleteReally dangerous psychopath. Glad he's off the streets.
ReplyDeleteYep....everyone who j"jumped to conclusions" about this guy should really have been ashamed. Despite his fleeing the state/hiding, not cooperating with authorities/ and his rap sheet....I mean, he was a nurses asst. afterall.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing to say about an animal like this. May he suffer 100 fold for the pain he has caused. But likely he'll get off with a moderate sentence and the opportunity to "rehabilitate" his life, despite the countless ones he has most likely taken, and the walking wounded ( family) who have to go on.

DeleteI'm never sure if parental appeals help or if they simply feed the beast.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine what the families are going through - whatever they do is right for them.
I can see him working a deal where he works with behavioral experts who pick his brain till he dies. Not saying that's a great idea, but they'd hoped for information from Jeffrey Dahmer and didn't get it.
ReplyDeleteI can't see him getting any kind of reduced sentence at all, under any circumstance. Maybe not gen pop, but wherever it is will be forever, I think.
Took years to catch Ted Bundy, and several others too. Scary. Stories like this and the barrage of Isis news makes me wonder how these guys got so evil.
ReplyDeletei heard this guy was a cab driver at the time of some of these crimes. is that how he got these girls to go with him?
ReplyDeleteHe offered free rides home
DeleteI reached the conclusion that he found his victims after enrolling in one college after another with the motive of looking for a particular victim. I dont know if hannah was a nursing major and if thats how they met but he stalked her until he had the chance to finally pounce on her. If he hadnt got caught he would have moved on to the next college looking for another victim.
ReplyDeletei'm totally w/Kno Won on this, I don't see any likelihood of him getting any modified type sentence if he's the perp. Not the way all the Counties' cold case guys are going thru their files
ReplyDeletei bring up the cab driver thing because i was raped by a yellow cab driver 30 years ago. they are independent contractors. the company will bear NO responsibility for it if he committed a crime while operating a cab. it's a great way for a sexual predator to find victims.
ReplyDeletejust know this does happen and think twice before taking a cab by yourself.
Nancer so sorry to hear what happened to you. Hugs lady.
DeleteI'm so sorry. I work in a downtown setting and I've taken so many cabs alone, it's never occurred to me that I could be in danger.
Delete*hugs* Nancer
DeleteIn Vegas almost all cab drivers are pimps and run an escorting service from their cabs picking up guys from the airport always asking how the can find girls. . I worked for a local casino years ago and the guys that came in to play pai gow were all cab drivers/ pimps and their girls were upstairs in the hotel rooms conducting business and would come down after and give them their money..
DeleteAdding my hugs to nancer.
DeleteNancer. ...I am profoundly sorry to hear that.
ReplyDeleteI often think how many times(in my younger years) being from NYC I took cabs and was fortunate nothing happened....it is unnerving to say the least.
Okay guys he hasn't admitted it and the police haven't proven it they just said they are now looking at him as a possibility. Not saying it isn't him but let's not convict him just yet.
ReplyDeleteBut IF he is the killer he may just be the first black serial killer.
@Nancer, so sorry for what you went thru.
ReplyDeleteSherry, I think it was brought up before, there are quite a few black serial killers: Wayne Williams: the guy that shot people through the trunk of a car; someone else linked to them on the last thread about this story.
ReplyDeleteThe dc snipers from 2002 were black
DeleteSurprised it took so long? Not saying this is the reason, but it definitely doesn't help:
ReplyDeleteEnd the backlog.
There are 12,000 back logged rape test kits in Mephis, TN. Yes, that is twelve thousand potential rape victims waiting for their DNA evidence to even be processed. Imagine if one of those was your daughter or son, sister or brother, parent or friend.
http://www.endthebacklog.org/backlog/where-backlog-exists
To clarify: Mephis was the chosen example since god damn that's a high number of both potential rape victims and untested kits.
DeleteThat's unimaginable
Delete@nancer, I'm so sorry. :(
ReplyDelete@Nancer Stay strong
ReplyDeleteMuhammad and Malvo were the Beltway snipers in Virginia back in 2002. 10 victims make them black serial killers
ReplyDeleteThere are many others. They just don't seem to get the press the white ones do.
The Beltway Snipers got plenty of press, but as "terrorists" not serial killers.
DeleteNo I didn't leave, I just don't care to comment anymore usually. I'm going to attempt to be respectful with this one comment though.
ReplyDeleteTricia S, he's been convicted of nothing... and anyone being looked at for one rape/murder will be looked at for others that are unsolved; it’s normal procedures. Do you think, just maybe, a tabloid like the National Enquirer is making a normal procedures look like a story to sell magazines? They're usually pretty legit. Yes, he’s probably no good… this mob mentality is dangerous though. You’re reading the news, you don’t know anything about what’s really happening.
Also, most folk’s comments on the Walmart debacle with Tracy Morgan were rather unintelligent as well, but I wasn’t in the mood. If he wasn’t wearing a seat belt he is DEFINITELY partially at fault. Walmart is largely at fault but not 100%. Ignore your emotional response, and focus on reason instead.
Don’t worry, I still cannot stand almost all of you… but I just had to say something. I'll read your attacks on me, because they make me smile, but I will not respond, so go nuts.
We'll miss you
DeleteBut who will point out our intellectual shortcomings, if not you? We NEED you, Jordan!
DeleteAs someone who lives in Charlottesville and went to UVA (hence my username) this developing story has me and everybody else just freaked the "f" out but so so so grateful he was caught.
ReplyDeletewell, jordan, what we DO know is they have a DNA match for 2 of the unsolved rape/murders---his DNA.
ReplyDeletetell me now that those 2 girls willingly had sex with him and someone else came along and killed them. because that's what his defense liar will say.
@ Nancer I'm sorry to hear
ReplyDelete@Nancer So sorry for what happened to you. But thanks for be brave for sharing your story as a caution to all of us. As you can see from the responses, a number of us have never thought about that possibility.
ReplyDeleteThanks again. :-)
Piece of garbage. I hope he gets what is coming to him and is haunted for eternity by the innocent souls he robbed of their lives.
ReplyDeleteJordan....I don't think anyone will throw any shade at you for thoughtful and reasonable posting that isn't attacking women. Everything you said makes sense.
ReplyDeleteIn the original post on this subject, I was just upset that some were insinuating this guy was being racially profiled and harassed. What? When you are the last person seen with someone, you have questions to answer. Getting scared and running is not an excuse, and only makes you look worse.
Nancer, thank you for being the strong woman you are and sharing your story. I am so sorry you had to experience that.
ReplyDeleteMay this POS suffer endlessly.
Grayhair - You're right! I'm wrong, I'm sorry. That's what the Opster and I say around the house here and we can never bring up the transgression again. Works for us.
ReplyDeleteSeriously how could I forget Wayne Wms and the Beltway snipers? Sheesh.
Brenda L, I was misunderstood... I had absolutely no intention of discussing race last time. I wasn't implying that people thought he was guilty because he is black, I was insinuating that people shouldn't think they're experts on a subject because they watch the Daily Show or Fox News, or CNN... or any of them. I would have made the exact same post on a Casey Anthony story. So I was scratching my head when people thought I was talking about race. I'm fucking Irish/German for crying outloud.
ReplyDeleteIt's always ironic to me how much "we" seem to not trust the media, but then we're ready to string someone up when they say so.
I'm the last person to play, the overplayed (though correct to an extent) race card. It was a misunderstanding.
@Jordan...nah, I don't even remember you being on that particular thread, I was referring to things others said....can't even remember who THEY were either...LOL!
ReplyDeleteThe racial profiling stuff...I was incredulous that people would think the police were doing that to him. He was the LAST PERSON seen with a young girl who hasn't been seen since. It matters NOT what color he is, he is a person of interest...period!
But how can we blame this on white racism/privilege like certain people were trying to do in the previous comments? Where are the apologists that said he wasn't really a murdering rapist, but a victim of evil white racist cops? I'd love to hear how he's still an innocent victim, so come on and spin it! You know who you are.
ReplyDeleteNancer, that's terrible. Once again I will say that women need to get, and carry, guns. The world is not a safe place and it's full of evil people.
@Sherry Hey Darlin'! I hear what you're saying about not pronouncing Matthews guilty before he's been formally charged in the other cases.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately with Matthews being linked to the Harrington case, he's now linked to the 2005 abduction & brutual rape from where I was living at the time.
Fortunately, that victim lived & provided a sketch PLUS pressed charges which has been a huge help in the unraveling of potential cold cases. The victim's name has not been released, so I'm not going to speculate further except to say there is a definite pattern developing.
I remember being scared for the first time in 15 years because it was not uncommon to be walking where the abduction took place.
So this makes 3 cases connected via DNA to Matthews. While it doesn't make it right, it's hard not to make the leap.
Just thank God this guy is off the streets. And say a word of thanks for cameras, as well.
ReplyDeleteOh I see Brenda L and Jordan are already on it.
ReplyDeleteHopefully they get enough evidence to try him and he makes a deal by disclosing where he dumped the body.
ReplyDeleteIt's all good astra, just glad to see another voice of reason here....
ReplyDeleteHe is 100% a person of interest and should be off the street until he's tried. But that's that... and the rest of us should shut up and wait for the result. Don't condemn him.
ReplyDeleteMy point was that people are emotional. Emotions don't mix with logic/reason/facts. The media, which none of us seem to trust, can hook us (well not me) with emotions by elaborating on a crime; they'll make your cries for justice so anger filled that you'll convict whoever they give you. For example, on 9/11, we were given Iraq. Try to ignore emotion when watching the news, look at the story, look for a motive, and ask a lot of questions.
I really wish the girl whom he raped and the girl that he sexually assaulted would have pressed charges while he was in college. I can imagine you just want it to go away but what if all these women died and it could have been prevented?
ReplyDeleteI hope he gets the needle SCUMBAG!
And here is yet another attempt at victim blaming hiding in a thin layer of pseudo-empathy. I can imagine how I assume they should feel, but if only they reported it, they could have stopped him!
DeleteNo, if only whomever raped those women wasn't a fucking rapist, all these women being raped and/or killed would have been safe.
@pinot Not trying to start an argument, but please don't blame the victims. We don't know how those girls were handled, i.e., "don't make waves," etc.
DeleteI can only imagine how they might be doing this already. Plus having to relive it again if they're contacted for more info.
Again, not trying to argue. These recent cases affect me more than just the 2005 rape case. Just thinking of the families involved, that's all.
By the way Brenda, astra was insulting us, not complimenting us... to me I read them both as the same anyway.
ReplyDelete"But IF he is the killer he may just be the first black serial killer."
ReplyDeleteThat title might belong to Wayne Williams, the Atlanta Child Killer from the early 1980's.
@ kno won uno--
ReplyDeleteI tend to agree about the parental appeals...
I do think a decent monetary reward sometimes helps, though, by possibly helping bring forward anyone associated with or related to a perp who might have even a smidgen of useful info.
And I agree with Jordan on 9/11.
ReplyDeleteWe let OBL's family OUT of the US safely afterwards, FFS, and then we waged war on Iraq solely because of what Saddam "did to W's Daddy," using WMDs as the sham excuse.
Coming soon to L&O SVU...
ReplyDeleteWell to play Devil's Advocate as well, if your brother or uncle or grandson was Timothy McVeigh who blew up the building in Oklahoma and you had absolutely nothing to do with it, if I recall from reading the book, should we be arresting you and harassing you and sending you to Gitmo?
ReplyDeleteI have not seen nor heard of any proof that the members of his family living in the US had anything to do with it. Au contraire they are living in the US because they preferred the lifestyle.
From the bios I've read, Osama was the odd duck in the family, he was the pious one, reading his Koran and always complaining that the siblings were not being good Muslims etc etc ie he was a big drag whereas the rest of the family loved travelling and Western stuff. After he got into trouble was supposedly exiled from his immediate family.
Now I would not be surprised that some of his 51 brothers and sisters, and No. #1 wife of Old Man Bin Laden raised Osama, may have been involved or were in touch or knew stuff but I don't think they all were and I've never heard of any of them being implicated. Bin Laden was grooming his own sons though at the time of 9-11. I wonder if they are all dead now.
And hey if you are a world class terrorist you going to tell your siblings anything?
He was a cab driver, he targeted women who were not sober to over whelm them easier. In his mind they wanted him, but he was only going to leave a witness if someone came by who could ID him. I'm surprised he didn't kill more people. I think his family knew what he was.
ReplyDeleteI lived in Charlottesville in the Hessian Hills Apartment across from where Matthew lived. I always felt extremely safe during my time in Charlottesville. However, it is always going to be problematic, regarding girl students' safety when this is the first time they are away from home with no supervision and alcohol and drugs are around. That being said, this story just chills me to the bone. I feel so sorry for the families of these girls.
ReplyDeleteNo Jordan and Brenda I wasn't insulting you at all! I agree with what you're saying!
ReplyDeleteLovely dude. And this cannot be true, he didn't use guns, therefore he wasn't able to murder.
ReplyDeleteBtw, African American serial killers: http://majorityrights.com/weblog/comments/black_serial_killers
astra, I thought you were lumping me in the category of people defending him... which I sorta am to an extent, not because I'd want him to take one of my sisters out on a date, but because this is America, and this is how we do it. Lawyers aren't evil; they're part of the best system we've got (I'm not a lawyer). I get annoyed when people hate on the lawyers defending horrible people...
ReplyDeleteShit, I'll get the rope if he's convicted, I'm just saying we're not qualified to convict him with what we read on CNN. I also wanted to remind everyone that the media is a business.
On an unrelated note, I should probably clarify I'm not a 9/11 truther, I think we were attacked by terrorists, and I think our emotions were then taken advantage of by opportunists. I could be very wrong, I'm very open minded on this subject. I just know I cannot justify why we went to Iraq 12 years ago. I know at the time I was all for it, which caused me to reflect on my youth which I've chalked up to emotion. The only politician who ever had a clue was Ron Paul, by the way... too bad we weren't ready for him.
LowKey, I can swing through and call you a dip shit from time to time, no worries.
Thanks, Jordan! I knew you cared!
DeleteJordan, nope. I totally agree with what you're saying and I voted for Ron Paul twice. Too bad this country will likely never be ready for someone like him, which is why it will continue to spiral down until it eventually collapses.
ReplyDeleteEveryone deserves due process, but why would we think that anyone would care about it when the Bill of Rights is being destroyed and nobody cares?
Don't get me started on these endless wars. The whole ISIS thing is yet another BS justification to get us meddling in Syria. I say let them sort themselves out, and don't allow any more immigration from anywhere for at least 30 years so we don't have to worry about "terrorist" attacks. Why do we need more people anyways, to stress our already sub-par system and create more conflict, pollution and misery? No thanks, but that's probably the logical way to look at it, most would rather pack this country full and then be shocked that we can't care for them all, because to not do it makes you racist.
It's all emotional manipulation like you said, and I don't watch TV or really read anything mainstream on the internet. When you walk away from it, and catch it here and there, it's ALL propaganda and it's so obvious. You wonder how people fall for it, but then you realize that they've literally grown up with the TV blaring for their entire lives, so how would they develop a sense of discernment? You can tell people, but they don't listen. Edward Bernays was what finally clued me in (well, him and a bunch of other stuff) but how many people are willing to read a book and consider a viewpoint so radically different than what they've been taught? In my experience, not many.
astra, brenda, and lowkey... you're alright.
ReplyDeleteand lowkey, I get the sarcasm, I love it.
ReplyDelete
