Is this really a question?
ReplyDeleteHells to the NO
ReplyDeleteTook the words straight out of my mouth.
DeleteMy thoughts exactly!! I don't even put my baby on the bed by herself!!
DeleteJust no!!
ReplyDeleteBabies are quick little bastards...my kid would have flown over the side of the cliff in a heartbeat
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't even put myself there
ReplyDeleteSo wrong, wrong, wrong. My heart is in my throat just looking at that!
ReplyDeleteAre you crazy ?
ReplyDeleteidiots
ReplyDeleteIm just upset there is no one surrounding the baby.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that the ledge is as steep as the picture makes it seem, but I wouldn't risk it.
ReplyDeleteDear God, no.
ReplyDeleteThey're freaking CRAZY to leave that baby like that!
ReplyDeleteIt depends. Unsafe for babies, safe for Kadashians.
ReplyDeleteJust to give you an idea, here is the other side of that cliff.
ReplyDeleteGreat parenting!
Omg, omg, omg!
DeleteHoly shit.
DeleteSeven - it's in Norway right?
Delete@texas, yes. It's called Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen in Norwegian) and it's terrifyingly beautiful.
DeleteA little ways away is a crack with a boulder lodged in it. You can cross over the boulder if you can stomach it.
DeleteJesus! I just shit down Times Square!
DeletePerspective is everything. We can't tell from this pic if there's a person out of sight on the other side of what appears to be a dangerous ledge. If there's not a person there, FUCK NO!
ReplyDeleteWait...who's taking the pic?
Seven, you just made me want to skip lunch. My heart's now obstructing my throat.
ReplyDeleteThanks(?)
So many thing can happen.... Wind, loud noise scares the baby or distracts the parents. I wouldn't even carry my baby out there. What if you tripped?
ReplyDeleteWtf is this??? Brain damage
ReplyDeleteI know, right?!
ReplyDeleteThe photo was taken by a hiker, who later released it to the press and said he was horrified. (Of course, he also said he was going to warn the parents but decided not to.) I showed it to my SO (a photographer who is familiar with Pulpit Rock) and said, "Check out the new winners of the Darwin Parenting Award!"
Oops, forgot to link to the story:
DeletePhotographer Stunned by Family Placing Baby on a Cliff Edge in Norway
NFW.
ReplyDeleteI'm coming out I of lurking to say: WTF?
ReplyDeleteAnd, the scariest part of this- there are four adults contributing their collective brains to this asinine decision.
I know riiiiiiiight?! Welcome @Gralismom
DeleteGood!!! Parent Shame Them! now everyone knows! I like this hiker & m/b this'll give other idiots pause of trying to capture these Kodak moments for their holiday cards
ReplyDeleteAHHHHHH
ReplyDeleteMy hands are sweating just looking at this
WTF
Holy crap...I'm horrified by that...I have nightmares about my kids falling off things like that!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Gralismom!!! you being a mom I cant blame you for not being able to sit quietly :)
ReplyDeleteIf the baby fell off the edge, then it would have been a good thing. Stupid people shouldn't reproduce.
ReplyDeleteYes. But I don't have a baby.
ReplyDeleteThey'd probably just make another one, Count. Stupid people never have fertility issues.
ReplyDeleteJust NO!! I am having a panic attack just looking at this picture.
ReplyDeleteI am also deathly afraid of heights!
Good job! Wonder what they're excuse would've been should the child had fallen?
ReplyDelete"Oops I was taking a selfie?"
That baby's not even a foot from the edge. They could have rolled right over it in a second. Idiots.
ReplyDelete@Count.. is it wrong that I giggled at that?
ReplyDeleteSome people really need to make this their live motto
To quote Ron White.. "The next time you have a thought.. let it go"
I swear sometimes I am convinced the world has gone mental!
Hell no!!!
ReplyDeleteThis picture makes me really sad.
Lol @D Brown. If only
ReplyDeleteSo the Michael Jackson holding blanket over the railing picture is no longer my wtf moment. I'm horrified!
ReplyDelete@GatorGirl: How funny! That was exactly my first thought too (after a string of expletives)
DeleteYes, but only if my baby was going to grow up to be one these empty headed a-holes in the hope something would happen that would prevent my baby from growing up and having children that she would leave out on a rock.
ReplyDeleteNo wind. No rain. A meter far from the cliff and looking away.
ReplyDeleteThe baby is not in more danger than the parents, and they aren't at all.
I see what they're trying to do with a cool shot of the baby and the background...but completely not necessary to have the baby that close to the cliff. It's ridiculous actually. Kids move like the speed of lightening at that age.
ReplyDeleteWell i wldnt, but all adults rightthere, and nothing happened. But i dont even like ME out there, much less a baby!! Lol
ReplyDeleteReminds me of this, only this one is fake:
ReplyDeletehttp://semi-rad.com/2011/06/photo-of-climbing-couple-tossing-baby-real-or-fake/
Sorry, I don't have time to look up my link instructions!
I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt and hoped the dad or someone was on the other side. But OMG...that pic seven posted made my stomach flip and hands sweat. I cannot believe how insanely stupid and careless some parents are.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was about five, my parents and I went camping at a place called Devil's Den. The morning after we arrived, my Dad and I went hiking a trail that was made around the cliffs that they have there, nothing as steep as this one, but still a good 5-600 foot fall.
ReplyDeleteI didn't notice a root or rock and tripped over it when we were looking down the cliff. Thankfully my Dad had great reflexes because he caught my legs just as I was about to go over.
I've been scared of heights ever since, I mean, I can't even get on a step stool without feeling dizzy. Looking at the fall you could take from the cliff in the picture makes me start sweating now.
Just showed it to my Dad who still hasn't forgiven himself for letting me get as close to the edge as I did when I was a kid and he just said these people need their child taken away from them and made a good point: everyone made an uproar when MJ held his baby over a balcony (and rightfully so), where is everyone screaming for vengeance for this kid?
With Photoshop available, why take the risk?
ReplyDeleteAre you EFFING kidding me???
ReplyDeleteOh my god, why on earth would you do that? Really disturbing.
