you guys just don't get Lena! She is an alternative-indie girl. The shoes are a bit silly but she is dressed in a London mod look---which is THE look this season btw. If is was Katy Perry or Gwen Steffani dressed like that a lot of you would be like "love it so cute1" ---TRUTH.

ReplyDeleteWe can tell by looking at her face if she is stressed, not eating right, not sleeping. I can also tell when she has been extreme dieting which she has done before. Also when she has issues with her iron levels which she also has problems with as well.
I can't say about these two but they in no way look healthy at all!
Okay okay. I know I rag on Lena as much as anybody else, but the angle on that shot is all messed up. Look at the lady's feet to the right of her. They're super elongated too. It doesn't mean the shoes themselves aren't hideous (they kind of are...) but they're not as boat-ish as the shot makes them look.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, and I can NOT believe I'm going to say this, but... She doesn't look terrible here guys. The shoulders on the jacket offset her heavier tummy, and that hideous haircut looks somewhat sleek. She still needs a purifying facial like you would not believe (Not one of Count's facials, either!! Ba dum hiss!!) but this is one of her better looks. I agree that the looseness of the garment is more flattering, and if the bow were slightly smaller, that would be ideal, but all in all, not bad.
Finally, Derek is right. If this were on a typical size zero see-leb who was widely regarded as fashionable, there would be far fewer naysayers!! Maybe I'm pissed off at the events in the last episode of Orange that I just watched, but I'm feeling very charitable about Dunham today.
That was a novel, so no comment on the rest...

DeleteLena's shoes look extremely sensible. My great grandmother came to the US in the late 1800's from eastern Germany and continued to wear shoes like that. This is one of Lena's best looks, the worst being naked.

To paraphrase her - I know a lot of people work when their kids are babies but I didn't want to do that. She left out that during that time she was under lock and key and couldn't shake that freaky Scio chick Jessica. Anyway I'd wager that it was in an agreement that after so much time Katie returned Suri to LA.
