Which one-named R&B songstress and sometime actress who was the music world's it girl in the '90s recently screamed at a fan wanting an autograph to "leave me the f*ck alone"?
@Rosie...got ya..not 2nd guessing..She just barely debuted in late 90's..came up in 2000 and on..that ghetto superstar song was when she at peak...was like..2002 or so
I also don't like the Mya guess. Yeah, she debuted in '98 with ghetto superstar and she had that single movin' on but she didn't really become a huge "star" until 2000 with case of the ex and the whole fear of flying album then she had lady maramalade and a few other singles my love is like woah then she was in Chicago. She was only really "big" from 2000-2005. I guess 1998-2005 if you wanna count ghetto superstar. But she wasn't a 90's It Girl by any means. Mary J Blige is not a one namer. And I don't want to say Sade because she's awesome.
Ooh Brandy! Sittin Up In My Room was everything! I love that guess. Sometime actress because yeah, she had a show but she was always known as a singer. Plus she did that movie with Whitney.
This is Brandy. Enty had another blind on her treating fans like crap. Sade's a legend not a it girl. Mary j blige and Lauryn Hill arent one names. And nobodys asking Ashanti and Mya for autographs. No shade.
Does anyone remember Brandy and RayJ on Punk'd? It was very weird and got very racial (on her end) and I'm actually surprised that her people did a final signoff on the whole thing because she looked like a bitch who hated white people.
Mya was in the 90's. I was in HS at the time and remember her music being played constantly. I also know someone who went to school with her and said she was a super bitch. So it could be her. Monica was popular, probably about the same as Mya so it could be her too maybe.
MaryJ

Delete@Tricia S That's weird, then how did Mya go platinum in 1998?
DeleteSo weird, right?
My bad
DeleteLate 90's are 90's it seems
I remember dancing to Mya at 'the Cluuuuuub' in the mid 90's. She was big around the time I was 20.

DeleteBrandy is a better guess---or MONICA!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking Brandy too, but of course Maya is a great guess. Going with Brandy though.
ReplyDelete@Zoe she is classy yes but she has mental issues and is notoriously shy...
ReplyDeleteBrandy a great guess....and she'd say that...She is wicked...I've seen her in action

ReplyDeletenice to not be at work today so I can FINALLY enjoy FFF.
ReplyDeleteMonica.. married to a laker Shannon Brown now..
ReplyDeleteAaliyah
ReplyDeleteBrandy.... miss pissy personality and then quote the bible type of girl.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone remember Brandy and RayJ on Punk'd? It was very weird and got very racial (on her end) and I'm actually surprised that her people did a final signoff on the whole thing because she looked like a bitch who hated white people.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Brandy but Monica has dabbled in acting too.
ReplyDeleteI'm voting Brandy as well. At least she didn't get in her car and run over him.
ReplyDeleteMya was in the 90's. I was in HS at the time and remember her music being played constantly. I also know someone who went to school with her and said she was a super bitch. So it could be her. Monica was popular, probably about the same as Mya so it could be her too maybe.
ReplyDeleteIt's probably not Eve but I'll toss her in anyways
ReplyDelete@Kat
ReplyDeleteAaliyah died over 10 years ago or were you being sarcastic....
Brandy...definitely a "sometime actress" and was well known during 90's. DEFINITELY. Mya, Ashanti were not well known as actresses.
ReplyDeleteI'd say Monica, save that she seems awesome. :)
ReplyDeleteBut that Brandy? dood. Gotta be her.
I'd hate it to be Mya - she may have been an inside girl, but she seemed nice and underused, if anything.
Lauryn Hill.
ReplyDeleteI loved that song. Just graduated from high school. Fun times
ReplyDeleteGoogled Mya and her hits started in 2000. "Woah" was in 2003.
ReplyDeleteGoing with Brandy.
