This former A list mostly television actress who has never captured that fame again despite a bunch of chances on other series was wandering backstage prior to one of the bigger name shows and started pawing at a dress she liked and was dying to wear. While unzipping the dress to get a better look she ripped it badly enough that the designer couldn't show it. The actress uttered a mumbled sorry before heading to her seat.
Debra Messing

Debra Messing
She seems so great -_- she wasn't even one of best parts of will and grace
ReplyDeleteBwahahahaha!!!
ReplyDeleteCoke Mom be like...
And way to go @catherine for nailing it on the frist!!!
How embarrassing!
ReplyDeleteWas this Oscar show or Michael kors..I think mk..
ReplyDeleteHe should have made her buy it. Or give some coke up in exchange
ReplyDeleteI don't really understand this. I am ready, willing, and able to believe she is incredibly horrible. But - how does unzipping a dress rip it? How freaking fragile of a dress can it be if this is really true?
ReplyDeleteFashion Show dresses are usually sewn the night before and are barely stitched together sometime. They are for show not wear and tear. It was probably too delicate or not sewn properly to begin with. . They only have to make it down the runway. Ever seen project runway?? Half those clothes are falling apart walking down the runway on the show.
DeleteWow. She is such a bitch.
ReplyDeleteWhat was she meant to do? Get out her travel sewing kit and stitch it back together.
Violet, she was meant ro NOT TOUCH stuff that isn't hers!
DeleteAnd then write a check.
Well the designer let her backstage... I think there's some responsibility to poor decisions.
ReplyDeleteProbably Dennis Basso, and I guess we're going into Fashion Week reveal time.
ReplyDeletePart of me feels a little badly for Coke Mom -
ReplyDeleteEnty really hates her
But then again she pulls stuff like this so I don't feel THAT badly
That's why you should keep your hands in pockets and look with your eyes, not hands
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Enty knows about the time she stalked Dustin Hoffman backstage at a play before she was famous. She snuck back and told a security guy she was the daughter of the guy who directed Marathon Man and she just wanted to say "Hello" to Dustin. Security believed her and she got to meet him. 10 years later she's presenting at comedy awards function with him in the audience. He didn't remember her though.
ReplyDeleteWait, what do we KNOW that she's done that's so bad?! Have folks here who are in the biz interacted with her, or she was shitty to someone here who's a server or something, or what? Why do we (or we're supposed to) hate her? Because I don't. ???
ReplyDeleteAnd this story...she sounded more embarrassed and didn't know what to do than flat-out bitchy to me. *shrug*
I'm with you AKM
Delete(And I meant all of that to mean "despite the Coke Mom suspicion." Because we don't know THAT, either.)
ReplyDeleteYou would think they'd put somebody in charge of keeping an eye on the clothing during the show. What the hell was she doing backstage in the middle of the garment rack anyway? Debra should have gone ahead and ordered the outfit if it was so fantastic that she couldn't keep from groping it.
ReplyDeleteHi @AKM!
ReplyDeleteWell, yup, coke mom hadn't been confirmed to be Messing yet! Now I kinda wanna raid the CDaN archives for all things Messing! I think the best answer is that we all just love to hate ;)
How is school going?
I'm with AKM. Is there any proof or first hand eyewitnesses of her lousy behavior?
ReplyDeleteThis doesn't seem like bad behavior. We would all be embrassed. It was probably sewn to quickly & not very well.
ReplyDeleteI'm no Messing fan but if she was allowed to handle it and it is so fragile it ripped by unzippering it then she is off the hook. Not like she was doing something crazy with it.
ReplyDelete@AKM: I think Enty had some reveals about her not being nice to cast & crew, maybe from Smash. Also he posted a pic the other day in the Randoms that showed a poster for her new show with writing from someone who works on the show saying that she is not a nice person.
ReplyDeleteAh, well, okay then. I always really liked her as Grace so I guess I just want to believe that she's nice and all.
ReplyDeleteLady H., I'm done, yo! AKM, MSW!
Niiiiice!!! Awesome! I thought you were finishing up but wooooohoooo!!! You go!
DeleteCongrats on your Masters AKM. Social workers are awesome!
Delete*wink*
@Seven of Eleven
ReplyDeleteIf Enty is referring to Dennis Basso as a "big name" in fashion, then Enty is definitely a heterosexual male.
This just sounds like a super awkward moment for her. I'm sure there are betches who have damaged dresses on purpose.
ReplyDelete@ Sugarbread maker - huh-uh. Never seen project runway. I didn't know they were that poorly stitched together for shows!
ReplyDeleteLearn something new every day. :)
Well,as gossip goes, ripping a dress is not really that salacious.
