Blind Item #7

This actress is foreign born and probably B+ list if you get pay cable. A list if you listen to David Hasselhoff records. Two shows at once for this actress who said her parents hated her past and cut her off but when she started making money on her new shows and getting famous they suddenly appeared in her life wanting money and cars and won't stop asking her for things.

  5. What's the Hasselhoff connection? Did he write a song about her? I know he's big in Germany where Kruger is from.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Well if they cut her off wouldn't they have money? Now it's time for her to cut them off.

  7. Or enty is a moron:
Malin Ackerman who is SWEDISH not German
    The comeback/trophy wife

    1. Excellent guess there @Tricia! Malin is also a singer and is alllll over the news again today. I'm surprised if Enty would confuse anything about her though because he is an Malinophile by admission

  8. Kruger is only on The Bridge.

Fun fact: Kruger will be in the upcoming Russell Crowe movie, Fathers and Daughters, with Amanda Seyfried. Guess who plays Amanda's boyfriend.

  9. I'm German and I have no idea who this is supposed to be. I guess Diane Kruger, but she is only famous in Germany for being famous in the US.

  10. Ray Donovan's wife looks like she belongs on SOA not attractive.

    1. Sandy - not to mention one of the most annoying characters on that show. I would love for her not to make it into next season.

    2. They have to kill her off. She's the worst. For a while I thought the cop was actually FB I and using her to take down Ray & Co but now I'm not sure.

      Delete
  11. Also, David Hasselhoff hasn't been big in Germany since the early 90s.

    ReplyDelete
  12. The Hoff clue is to point you towards Germany because they loved his music. Good job team!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Paula Malcomsen is Irish so I don't get the Hoff connection. Unless he sings a song with the title Paula or Mrs. Ray Donovan.

    1. True tina. The only connection is that I can imagine that Paula M singing in her Abby Donovan voice would be as pleasant as listening to this on forced repeat...

  15. why kruger?? 'the bridge' is on FX. is that considered pay cable? and what's her other show?

    2. @sugarbread, I completely forgot Aaron Paul was in Big Love! I've only seen a few episodes of Breaking Bad, so it didn't connect.

  17. FX is considered pay cable because in the US, you have to pay for extra channels like FX and USA. Only network and "almost network" (like Fox) are offered on the airwaves. Premium cable is HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, that you have to pay extra-extra for.

Ã…kerman is a good guess, she's done tons of movies and TV, and her past is pretty freckled (parents divorcing and remarrying multiple times, moving from Sweden to Canada and back again). Whoever it is, hopefully she'll get out from the under the spongejob influence. Look what happened to Biebs when he let Papa Spongejob back in.

    1. Sorry Seven- you are definitely wrong on this one. FX is cable. Pay or premium cable is HBO, Showtime, Starz, ect. FX, TNT, USA ect are cable. Network is abc, nbc, cbs, and fox. Almost network is basically only CW (from the days of Gossip Girl blinds).

      Delete
    2. @texas, that's what I said - pay cable is anything other than network/airwave, premium cable is HBO, Showtime, etc. FX is not premium cable, it's "pay cable".

Here's an example: if you sign up for the full cable package at, let's say Comcast, you get all the networks, the almost networks, the home shopping channels, the game show channels, Nick, Disney, etc. The next level is the one that includes sports packages and maybe some speciality channels. Level up to include HBO, Showtime, Cinemax. Those are the premiums. The only ones you get via air are networks (and I'm amending to include that yes, Fox is an air network, as well as PBS), but no one without a cable package can get FX or TNT without streaming. It's obviously area-dependent, but I get CW on the airwaves and used to get AMC.

    3. Seven - I should have just said that pay and premium or interchangeable for enty. I understand your distinction but don't think it is accurate for the blinds. Here is a recent example where enty used 'pay cable' for GOT pay cable. I did notice when I went back through reveals that enty is inconsistent (surprise). A number of blinds for premium or pay cable (for Girls and Californication) enty only used 'cable' in descriptor. I could not find any examples where 'pay cable' was used for shows on FX, TNT, AMC,USA ect.

    4. Seven - not trying to be a dick about this but this has been a bit of a pet peeve for me and I thought enty had cleared it up several months ago when they gave guidance and it matched what I am saying. I have also paid attention to it in the clues and reveals which have generally conformed to the convention I described- that is not to say the enty has always held to the same convention at times.

    5. Seven - sorry, the link about is to the original blind involving GOT. Here is a cut and paste of reveal.

This almost A list mostly television actor from a very hit pay cable show and has dabbled in some really great movies had tons of fans waiting when he arrived at his hotel for a press event. The actor pushed through the fans telling them he didn't have time and then proceeded to sit in the bar for the next hour watching television and drinking.

  18. Pamela Anderson

    - Foreign Born
    - Listen to Hasselhof talking about her bein so special (not listen to music records of him)
    - Parallel series Baywatch / Home improvement
    - Parents hated her drug past/whore image and doings
    - Cut her off meaning also the association with her, not financial cut off

  19. He acquired some taste since he was with this creature. His wife is hawt Jessica is not.

  20. Sibel Kekilli--GoT and a German show at the same time; Germany born.
I would say the rating is off but the clues fit.

    1. And her parents reportedly disowned her for her porn past.

  21. The Austrian who won that Euro singing competition and pissed off the Russians.

Seriously obscure clues. Does she only shave on Tuesdays? Cause that would narrow it down some.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I don't think Pam Anderson's parents ever disowned her.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Agree with Purbear, Sibel Kekilli fits, and her parents hating her past is because they are Turkish (muslim) and she was in porn.

Anyway the Hoff, if any, is big in Austria (the European country, not the place with weird fauna, that I know American geographic knowledge), not in Germany.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hoff is known for singing at the Berlin Wall and is big in both Austria and Germany. It is a silly clue, though, since that was 20 years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  25. @ Sandy, Ray's wife was on SOA for several episodes.

    1. Plus she was frigging excellent in Deadwood...

  26. Sibel Kekilli both was on Game on Thrones and has been featured on eight episodes of Tatort/Scene of the Crime, a German TV show featuring recurring crime investigators. She's on the "Borowski" collection.

Diane Kruger is just involved in one TV show.

    ReplyDelete
  27. @Seven of Eleven "Almost network" is The CW, not Fox. Fox, the "fourth network" has local affiliates, which is the definition of a network. The CW has local stations, but the average ratings are so low that it's not usually considered with the big four.

But you can catch these networks using a regular television antenna, while you can only get basic cable... by being a subscriber to cable (or satellite TV).

This Enty used "pay cable" to speak of what he usually calls premium cable, and what you describes as premium cable.

    ReplyDelete
  28. @Seven

That's not how Enty uses the phrases though. It's always been, almost network = CW (Or WB/UPN for old ones,) Cable = "Regular" cable channels, regardless of what package you have. And pay cable/premium cable has always meant HBO, Showtime, Starz, and Cinemax.

No cable company in the US allows you to pick and choose channels like USA or FX. If you want those channels you get a different package. HBO and Showtime are channels you can pay 15 bucks for regardless of which programming package you have. All cable channels would be "pay cable" because getting cable channels for free would mean you're stealing them. Network channels are FOX, ABC, CBS, NBC... the CW is usually available over the air with an antennae as are a few other local channels, but all the rest are cable channels.

(Hope this all made sense, I've had a cold and took a shit load of cold medicine!)

  29. Maybe she'll take the bullet for her brat daughter Texas when Cookie realizes she was in the back seat and saw it all. We can only hope

  30. I'm pretty sure Pamela Anderson's parents are raising her boys right now so I can't see them "back in her life" I think its more of a please and help me kinda thing so I'm going with the Malin guess .... I guess lol

    ReplyDelete
  31. @jayjay, I don't see how any of us are disagreeing.

Network (ABC/CBS/NBC/FOX, in some places UPN and CW) are available via airwaves with no cable package.

TNT/FX/USA are not available w/o a cable package. That would be "pay cable" in most areas.

HBO/Cinemax/Showtime are premium cable (pay cable plus).

I feel you. I have a nasty cold and my sister who claims to love me said, "You sound like crap warmed over." I started to laugh and it turned into a coughing fit. I will have my revenge!

    ReplyDelete
  32. @Seven No, what you call "pay cable" is just cable. All cable is paid for, (Unless you have it illegally.) Pay cable and premium cable as Enty's defined them is HBO, Showtime, Starz, Cinemax.

As for our colds... I don't think I've ever been sick in September like this. It's way too early in the season to be this sick!

  33. Seven: Ouch! Feel better my CDaN sista
Give your real seeeestra a kick in the butt on my behalf and try to play the quiet game!!! But before you start playing, make sure to tell sissy this too :)

@jay jay: I hope you feel better soon too!!! Hang in there!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. jayjay and texasrose are correct; premium and pay cable are synonymous. They both refer to subscription tv.. What seven is saying makes logical sense, but the term isn't used like that.

    ReplyDelete
  35. It is probably Diane Kruger but for the sake of something different I will say Antje Traue who played in Man of Steel and quit school at 16 to act. Sounds like the kind of thing that would enrage most parents.

  36. 1chick.. i thought the cop was using her to take down ray too. loved last weeks ep. cant wait for 2night..

  37. We dont love David here in Germany!!! We dont love his music! He is like a big joke here, pretending to be responsible for the reunion in the late 80s. The only person thinking the Hoff is popular here is the Hoff himself. We growl his songs while hammered out at parties though. Embarrassing to know that people from other countries think our taste of music is THAT bad.
