I actually am remembering there has been some whispers. I'd forgotten. But ya, everyone in HW is gay!!!!!! I'm feeling pretty gay myself. I'm going to skip on out to the galley and whip up some blueberry crapes. (Or just be myself and go thru the drive thru for a bacon breakfast burrito, that weighs more than my dog, and a XL Diet Coke. ) I'm getting mixed signals.
No fair judging him on the short shorts - everyone rocked them back then. Look at high school yearbooks from the early to mid 80's. No one wore their shorts long. Remember all the basketball uniforms?

Enty needs to define aging for us in his mind. In my mind 45 is aging, not old. Soared is about 50 or so. Jeff Goldblum is 63 he can retire in 2 years or even now and collect SS and in 2 years he has to sign up for Medicare to me that's kind of old not aging.

DeleteTom is gay. My late Aunt was in the "fashion" crowd in NYC in the 70s. My Mom was a great beauty and occasionally would attend parties and events with her. Selleck was a sort of male model in the 70s, repping some men's cologne - can't remember what it was called. He often attended industry parties with his bf. Not "out" by any means, but not totally closeted or bearding, until "Magnum". I had heard alot of talk that his wife was gay also, & that it was a bearding arrangement. My only thought about the whole thing is that it's a shame that we live in a so-called "society" where people have to hide their gender or sexual identity.

DeleteYW! - Hearing my Aunt and Mom talk (gossip) about him has always stuck in my mind because he's so sexy! Wish I could remember the name of the cologne ads, but my teenage self had a huge crush on him and was very disgruntled about losing out to the boys (wouldn't be the last, either, lol.). I also distinctly remember taking disco lessons, determined to go to Studio 54, & finally a theatrical set designer friend of the family arranged it. My naive Mom and I were enraptured by the whole "Man in the Moon" thing and so naive at the time that we didn't even get the coke reference. Oh, I loved the 70s!! Still keep in touch with the former-set designer, now dog groomer, who has been with his partner for almost 40 years and still can't legally marry in the state in which they reside. Not meaning to get up on a soapbox, but it makes me angry and sad.

I "ran" into him coming out of a restaurant in Sherman Oaks with his parents in the 80's. Very tall and gorgeous at the time.

ReplyDeleteI remember watching Pretty in Pink for the first time as a twelve-year-old and I couldn't understand why Andie wasn't hot for Steff (Blane was gross). Don't get me wrong, Duckie was adorable but Steff was hot. Thankfully, I grew out of liking bad boys, but I still heart James Spader.

It's a catch-22 - if you don't address it, the rumours get bigger. If you do address it, you're underhandedly acknowledging it and the rumours continue to get bigger.

ReplyDelete@jack...I have been known to say this....or everyone is a drink away....etc...but most likely- without any scientific or biological data for it(disclaimer) my belief is more of a metaphysical one in that everyone is born bisexual(perhaps pan) and have a predilection for one or the other....which strengthens it's identity through experiences,time, age etc....it's just my thought...but instead my mother(and BF) are constantly saying "you think everyone's gay" I'm like...uh, well.....no, but you just don't realize how many people ARE....
