ReplyDeleteiggy
ReplyDeleteSad, miscarriages are tough.
ReplyDeleteNicki Minaj
ReplyDeleteOT Reddit banned The Fappening today anyone know a site that's still running?
ReplyDeleteBey?
ReplyDeleteEve
ReplyDeleteor MIA--she had some gigs recently ---Nicki and Iggy both have new albums out so I don't see them not using birth control etc---MIA has a kid already so that is my guess sadly

ReplyDelete@D..foreign born....if enty still doing that, and he seems to be
ReplyDeleteI like the nicki minaj guess
ReplyDelete@Tric---true
ReplyDelete((sad face))
ReplyDeleteits funny though cause I saw MIA (one of my favs) in concert when she was pregnant--she was great. Nicki and Iggy wouldn't be able to pull that off because they rely more on their sexuality than talent (Nicki has more talent than Iggy though of course but still relies on sex eg. Anaconda) and Iggy is just the worst. I like Eve but don't think she is A list any longer
ReplyDelete@derek is one of you 10 channels Bravo? They are playing 2 WWHL shows featuring Joan Rivers now.
ReplyDeletePoor broad.
ReplyDelete@FF---I wish : ( thanks though!
ReplyDeleteLike the nikki guess she was papped yesterday at airport or something looking really sad.
ReplyDeleteNicki Minaj.
ReplyDeleteThere's candids of her walking the airport terminal looking extremely sad. Her boyfriend is walking behind her.
Whoever it is, I'm sorry, wouldn't wish that on anyone.
ReplyDeleteIggy IS the worst. The worst thing ever and I hope she wasn't pregnant and never, ever gets pregnant. Whoever this is, best of luck to you and hopefully things will work out for you in the future.
ReplyDeleteDamn @astra! Thems some straight up fightin words ;)
ReplyDeleteOh Em Geeee!!!! YES!!!!!! I was just reminded that Christopher's Meloni was featured on Oz!!!!! (see 1 minute mark). This just made my day!!! I love me some Detective Stabler! The universe must have rewarded me for reminding Count to check out those RH porn daughters!!!
Thanks, Lady H. I loves me some Meloni,i too.
DeleteIn what world is Iggy an Alist rapper? You have to have some sort of talent ( one would hope ) to be qualified as A list .. Iggy is complete and utter garbage. The first time I heard her I wanted to rinse my ears with bleach.
ReplyDelete@ Alicia....effin good point!!
DeleteMy wee one likes that effing song tho:(
Alicia, it seems to be very subjective (ratings ratio to actual talent) on this site.
DeleteAlso, my heart goes out to whomever this is . Sorry for their loss.
EAGLES!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHA HA
((tosses confetti))
I read Nicki was pregnant recently on MTO.
ReplyDeleteWhat? Why? I didn't wish a miscarriage on her, I just hope she wasn't, and will never be, pregnant! She can continue making her "music" but for God's sakes don't bring a poor child into it!
ReplyDeleteAlicia, this is what the world has come to. Iggy is considered pop/rap.
ReplyDelete@Lady H, Keller and Beecher 4 ever! That show was amazing. It was a soap opera with male frontal nudity! I still long for a tiny hat that magically stays on my head like Adebisi's tiny one.
It was truly ALL my pleasure @blondiemelinda! Meloni can search all of my cavities any day of the damn week!
ReplyDeleteAmen, @Pip!!! A beautiful prison style soap opera about never dropping the soap. It's funny seeing how many storyline overlaps there are with OITNB. Prison marriages be tough, y'all!
How is Iggy not talented? Really, im honestly asking..
ReplyDelete@Gina
ReplyDeleteIggy's no more untalented then any other whore in the industry. It's her accent that I find offensive. Hearing her rap is so awkward.
I guess "talent" is subjective because I don't consider her talented. Like Ay said, her accent is annoying and her rapping is awkward. She looks ridiculous, someone said she looks like one of the "White Chicks" from the Wayans Brothers movie. There is nothing at all appealing, talented, or interesting about her. Just another lame joke trying to be something they aren't. But like you said Ay, she's about as talented as all the other industry whores, but I hate everything about her. EVERYTHING.
ReplyDeleteLOL @astra, she totally does look like one of the White Chicks! Her makeup is so odd.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing the "brave face" has to do with her getting busted lip synching with JLo.
Milli vvvvv
DeleteThose hormones make you crazy
ReplyDeleteOk she DOES look like one of the White Chick's whoever said that really nailed it, but if you compare Nicki to Iggy we basically get this: Iggy - ok rapping voice, speaking voice not so much and she looks like a black man in white drag. Nicki - her voice rap/singing is the exact same, squeaky and babyish, she dress like a barbie who took a wrong turn and ended up a prostitute
ReplyDelete@ Gina many people claim that she does not write her own rhymes & her flow is off. If you can't come up with lyrics & you can't perform them well, what other talents are you left with? I'll let you figure that out.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is Nicki Minaj since she made some appearances during fashion week. Sad for whoever it is. No one should go through that.
ReplyDeleteI don't like Nicki Minaj either! I'm not a huge fan of rap, but I certainly don't like what passes for rap nowadays. Probably because I'm old.
ReplyDeleteI wish I remembered who said that about her looking like a White Chick...they deserve credit because it really is spot on!
So sad for whoever this has happened too. So hard to lose your child. I can't imagine the pain they must be in.
ReplyDeleteAnd BTW, who wouldn't be devastated?
DeleteExactly Sherry.

ReplyDeleteA lot of people compared Iggy/Rita Ora to White Chicks.
ReplyDeletehttp://uproxx.com/webculture/2014/06/iggy-azalea-and-rita-ora-are-basically-the-wayans-brothers-in-white-chicks/
Very few people I would kick when they are down so she gets a pass from me.
ReplyDeletei just found out iggy azaelas real name is Amythest Kelly.. for real..
ReplyDeleteI feel for whoever this is. Miscarriages are the worst thing ever.
ReplyDeleteThe first person who came to mind was Minaj.
I can't help but laugh at everyone hating on Iggy. The squareness here is most impressive.
ReplyDeleteBTW, %80 of rap artists have their shit Ghost written. Male and Female. Jay, Drake, Wheezy, Dre, all of them. The one's that don't are those still hungry and climbing, like Schoolboy Q & Ab-Soul.
As for whoring yourself to get put on in rap, do you think it only happens to women?? Why do you think Jacky Jasper made two incredible records in the last ten years and went on instead to start Diary of a Hollywood Street King? Uh, maybe because he wouldn't suck a dick? I was there the making of those two records, I know.
Hate on Iggy if you want to be square. But if you want to hate her for having lyrics ghost written because Nikki make a diss at the VMA's, your naivete is showing. Because *they all* have Ghost writers. Currently Kendrick Lamar is making more $$ Ghost writing for everyone else than he is on his own career.
Iggy is no worse a rapper than any of the others, and arguably a better hustler than most other rappers in the game, which is really what Minaj is mad about. She's using race as a justification to engender misogyny. Nobody bitched about Eminem's color when he came onto the scene the way Minaj and others have about Iggy.
Don't hate the player, hate the game.
I'm going to have to beg to differ. I came from en era where female rappers had to actually have talent to make it in the game. The cut of their jib as opposed to the length of their skirt was mandatory in terms of credentials. MC Lyte, Salt N Peppa, Queen Latifah and as dirty as she was the Queen Bee Little Kim could hold their own with any male counter part. Race had nothing to do with it.
DeleteAs a person who has nil square bone in their body, I take the Iggy as a formative rapper as a joke. That's like comparing Nas to Lil Wayne.
Apples are apples and oranges are oranges. And garbage is garbage. Period.
"Cut of their jib as opposed to the length of their skirt": standout comment.
DeleteWell said, wise Jedi. Well said.
DeleteFor any who are interested,ma second member of the K-Pop group Ladies' Code has died from injuries sustained in the same crash that killed her bandmate. Kwon Rie-Sae was 23.
ReplyDelete*a second member
ReplyDeleteMy dislike of IA aside .. I feel for any mama who lost her baby. Much love.
ReplyDeleteDo you think all those you mentioned didn't ever have Ghost Lyricists??
ReplyDeleteI never said she was formative. I said the hate for her is Square. Square as in those that Judge anything that's outside their own box.
Maybe you have the problem with her that others have because she inhibits a character when she has her flow and performs, and has a foreign accent when she doesn't? Please. Every one you hold in high regard are just playing characters too and are nothing like their music personas.
Please quantify and qualify how her shit is garbage when she's got TI, Pharrel and Kendrick Lamar behind her? Otherwise, your entitled to your opinion. But it's nothing more than a square opinion. Square because she's being judged by criteria that others are accepted and seemingly made an exception for. If she was the very first to have a Ghost lyracist or used sex to get ahead, maybe I could see it. But she's just doing what male and female MC's have been doing for a quarter of a century.
@ Alicia: I do like your examples and analogy though, even if I don't agree with them.
ReplyDeleteAgain, beg to differ @ Shinobi - you can't hold up a discussion on female rappers based on a question of whether or not they had ghost writers .. And I quantify and qualify my opinion based on 25 years of hip hop love. I welcome all new talent to the fold. However, I cannot and will not recognize terrible music as word. I seriously laugh at the square reference.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you @ Shinobi - I welcome respectful hip hop debates in any capacity. Because we differ on opinions doesn't change our love of music
ReplyDeleteThank BOTH of you!!!!
ReplyDeleteWoahhhhh Nelly!!! This post is waaaay better than tonight's Boardwalk Empire so far. What a snoooozefest...zzzzzzz
@Lady Heisenberg
DeleteAlways happy to entertain ;-)
And I love Alicia and everyone else here. It's not the gossip that keeps me coming here. As I often doubt it's veracity.
It's the community of regulars that keep this place fun and interesting.
More so than any other site I can think of. I'm sure I'm not the only one that comes here more for the commentors than the posts themselves.
The Enty orginization should recognize and do well to remember that.

ReplyDeleteBut I'm sorry it is square. Why?Because Music is music. Her music is good. Fancy is a great Pop/rap record. That's why it's being over played.
ReplyDeleteI don't like or get the Grateful Dead or Phish at all. But I can still recognize their achieved artistry and excellence even if I think it's not appealing. If I went around saying the Dead or Phish or even Maroon 5 were shitty musicians because I didn't like their music, I'd be just as square. If you don't like it because you don't like it, that's fine. But anyone that bases their hate on one artist and their excuse is because the artist employs practices that are standard operating procedure in the industry, then that's square.
How come women don't recognize Iggy's hustling skills? Those are just as important in the rap game as talent. That girl took herself out of an abusive home at 16, followed a dream, and while her means of achievement may be in question, you can't deny she hustled her way past innumerable girls who want a career as a music performer.
If you're going to call her garbage, or anyone, and want to have it be more than an opinion - back it up.
If you said something like "Her beats are routine and follow the simplest 4 count drum patterns." Or "She can't carry a flow during 32 bars the way she does 8 or 16." Or, her "Ad Libs suck." - while I wouldn't agree with you, I'd see some critical analysis to back up the opinion.
But when it's hate or dislike being thrown at one, for something others in the same industry do and get away with, that's square. I'm not saying you're a square. But if that's your justification for not liking her, that's square. If you just don't like her, then that's fine. That's your entitled opinion. See the difference?
If you just don't like her because Nikki claims she get her Lyrics written for her, then going by that criteria, Jay Z, Dre and Drake are garbage too. It's misigynistic double standard regardless if it's made by another woman or not.
I think Nikki Minaj is one of the best lyricists in the game, and would agree she's a prodigious talent. But I guess what gets me is she comes out hard hating on Iggy; And insinuates Iggy is nothing but a copy cat even though she's not doing anything her male counterparts and %80 of the rap industry is doing, Yet Nikki stole her whole character and Schtick from Little Kim! She's being a total hypocrite. But I'm not mad at her for saying it, you gotta do what you gotta do. I just shake my head when people think Iggy is the only rapper not buying their lyrics or beats and bashes her for it when again, it's SOP in hip-hop.
(This is my deleted comment, which was deleted for typos. Why can't we have an edit button?)
I was with you until you said nikki is a prodigious talent. Ugh, no... just no. Most of the hip hop out is overfluffed, painfully discordant garbage. I liken nikki and most rap music to that garble. No offense to you or your opinion of course. Give me good ole school hip hop anyday over modern hip hop anyday. Pharmacyde, guru, wu tang, odb, da alkaholiks, tribe called quest, method man, Big l, tupac, krs-1. this bullshit music nowadays will never live up to what I consider the golden era of hip hop.
DeleteAnd there are still typos, but I'm on my phone and don't feel like fucking with Blogger and IOS's ability to not mesh and skip around in the comment window.
ReplyDeleteSo apologies to all. Good Times!
@Shinobi: There is no edit button because then peeps would probably switch up their answers etc
ReplyDeleteBut I would enjoy a "like" button soon, Enty. Some stores are already setting up their holiday decorations!!! hint, hint...
Enty will probably just give me a lump of coal this year :(
@Lady: Ah, very good point. I hadn't thought of that. I agree some kind of like button would be fly.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you too, @Jedi
ReplyDeleteI agree. Our commenters our as good as it gets!!! <3
I love Iggy and I love Nicky. For this blind I will guess Nicky. Females must empower each other not degrade and humiliate.
ReplyDeleteI do recall MTO saying that Niki Minaj was pregnant and then not hearing anything more about it. I cannot imagine Iggy would want to be pregnant with her career just taking off. Niki is far more established no so I could see her wanting a baby. Sad news whoever it is.
ReplyDeleteSorry but Iggy sucks. I don't care if that makes me "square", I certainly don't feel the need to pretend to like shit because it's being played on the radio and is pushed incessantly. IMO, she is talentless, everything about her sucks, is a joke, she is like a bad reverse minstrel show or something. Not that white people can't rap, but she's definitely not a female Eminem. If that ugly, talentless slag is what's popular and liking her garbage makes you cool, then I am proudly square now and forever.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, the fact that she has a stan is terrifying! I guess you really CAN fool some of the people all of the time!
It's not square or cool. It's square or Live. You can still be square and good person. The difference between Square and Live is a Live person never judges what is outside their sphere of appreciation.
ReplyDeleteYou can say Iggy is garbage, but if you do, then you must feel the same about Pharrel, KL and TI since they're the ones making the beats, writing the lyrics, *and even moreso, giving her (and other artists) actual line readings on the lyrics* They call it a "trace" in the rap game. This is why I shake my head because if you say she can't rap, because she's just mimicing exactly whomever directed her, probably TI. Will she always be this way? Who knows? Maybe she'll pull a Brad Pitt and actually try to improve at her craft after success and truly generate her own material.
It sounds like you have more of a problem with the music industry machine and their pushing of certain artists, and Iggy is just hitting your abrasive button, when Brittany, NKOTB, Madonna and the rest. Madonna's never sang her own songs, ever, but you loved her right?
What is so different about Iggy than the them? Nothing except the fact that she's trying to do with rap what others have been doing in Pop forever. And why is that? Because the sad fact is, rap has become Pop.
It's fine to hate Iggy. It doesn't make you uncool to hate Iggy. But if you hate her and fault her and single her out for using tricks & tactics both genders have been employing for decades, then that is square.
How much do you think Iggy even had a choice in these creative decisions this early in her career, and really not just following orders? Newsflash: She was following orders. And she had to if she wanted to get put on.
Hate her all you want, but if you hate her because of what Minaj said and ignore that Nikki was snitching out Iggy on widely used practices, that is square.
@Eros: I appreciate the affirmation. I totally agree all your examples are better.
ReplyDeleteBut here's an example of what I mean when I say Nicki is a talented lyricist, as she does (afaik) write her own lyrics
(Cut and pasted from AZ Lyrics):
I said, rule #1 to be a boss ass bitch:
Never let a clown nigga try to play you
If he play you, then rule #2:
Fuck his best friends, then make 'em yes-men
And get a dick pic, and then you press send
And send a red heart and send a kissy face
And tell him that his friends love how your pussy tastes
And that's rule #3, I'm the school T
My wrists look like I am a jewel thief
But that's just 'cause I am a boss bitch
Now macaroni cheese and grill my swordfish."
Now that's brillaint because - that is some true to life cold hard game tactics she's giving to the new generation of female predators devouring their fellow new generation of sensitive young men raised by single mothers.
Whether or not you agree with the sentiment, it's brillaint because it's as hard and street as anyone else out there. Imho.
I never loved Madonna and I don't like the others you mentioned either. A singer/entertainer doesn't have to write their own songs or anything, but they do have to appeal to me for me to like them (obviously). NOTHING about Iggy is appealing to me, especially her music.
ReplyDeleteI certainly can have an opinion, is having and voicing an opinion now "judging"? Please.
I have no idea what Minaj said about Iggy, I don't follow either of them at all, don't like either of them and certainly don't care what they say about each other. I'm not interested in their feuds, it doesn't make me like one or dislike the other. If I like your music, I like it. I don't like them and I don't like 99% of the shit they play on Top 40 either.
@ Astra: Nope, you're entitled to your opinion! I'm sorry, I didn't realize we were being combative. I thought we were having a discussion. Yes, to judge is to be square. I don't understand why this is so insulting when %95 of the world is this way. Live people are not better. They've got plenty of dysfunctions too. Argubably even more than squares. They just don't judge what's outside their sphere of appreciation.
ReplyDeleteIf the Grateful Dead, Phish or Springsteen (with exceptions) or anything country come on, you'll see me run out of the room or change the channel as fast as possible. What you won't see me do is call any of them garbage and shit on their creativity when it's not appealing to me. That is square.
If you look at Nickis instagram, there is a long break (about 6 days, which in celebrity instagram world is an eternity).....maybe a hint..
ReplyDelete
