Blind Item #10

This A list movie/television actor says he is married to his actress significant other but they are not legally married because they never made it legal in this country. Now she is pressing him to make it legal, but he is kind of wish washy about it.

  4. If he says he is married, why would he be wishy washy at making it legal here?

And, um, just because they didn't get married in this country doesn't mean the marriage isn't legal. A couple married in England is still a married couple. A lawyer would know that the US recognizes foreign marriages as long as there's a legal marriage certificate.

  5. Why does everyone assume the woman is desperaly trying to get the guy to tie the knot? All women arent Shannon Tweed y'all.

  7. There is a frequent scam in Mexico about whether a couple is actually married or not. In order to be legally married, you must get an official license from the government, whether city hall or wherever. A church wedding is not legal on its own, there must be a legal license as well. In some smaller villages, some men traditionally would marry a naïve young woman who didn't know this, but a church wedding only. Thus they could commit bigamy over and over. There even was a popular telenovela about this very thing years ago. Not sure if the people in this blind are Mexican or got married in Mexico.

    1. No different in the US either. Church wedding only makes it legal in the eyes of God. Gotta file with the government.

  9. In most states, if you live together and portray or announce yourself as husband and wife, you are married.

    1. I agree, there was talk that it wasn't legal, but more ceremonial.
Maybe that's why Brad likes that they move around a lot!!! No common law marriage either ;)

  16. I didn't realize that in order to be married, you have to get married in every country Enty!

  17. A lot of people get married in ceremonies in other countries without filling out the right paperwork. Fast forward 3 years when they what to get divorced and they were never married. Some states recognize common law marriage, many don't.

  18. This is what I wouldn't be surprised about Kimye - are they legally married? All for show and no messy divorce nec when they split. And it doesn't seem like they live together, esp when he seems to stay with tbe bf in Paris. AND WE KNOW he was never ever f'n staying at Kris Jenners house.
Anyway I just figure it's another POS fake thing about them and there's no marriage lic.

    1. Agreed, there would be a filing that would be public info if it was legal, like clooney's.

  20. Liev and Naomi are married? When did that news break? I always thought they were just boyfriend/girlfriend with kids.

  21. I had heard at one time that if you are not a resident of the country in which you get married, like France, Italy or Mexico, then you have to have a civil ceremony in your country to make it legal--usually before the showy wedding.

  22. Remember Mick Jagger and whats-her-name (the mother of about 4 of his kids, he was with her for 20+ years). Oh yeah, Jeri Hall. They got married in Bali, supposedly. When she finally left him after years of his cheating - I guess she drew the line at his actually fathering a child with another woman - he said she wasn't entitled to any of his money because the marriage in Bali wasn't actually legal. I think that was news to Jeri Hall.

What a sucky thing to do to her - pretending to marry her and thinking to yourself "well if she ever leaves me, I can spring this on her."

  25. I can't see Angie hounding Brad about making it legal though (if indeed they didn't really get married).
