    ReplyDelete
  26. Robin Williams and Bob Hoskins both co-starred in Steven Spielberg's Hook. The two remaining co-stars Dustin Hoffman and Julia Roberts are alive. Robin and Dustin used to call Julia "Tinkerhell" on set due to her diva antics.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Ricky Gervais changed my viewing habits forever. I haven't been able to watch a sitcom since 'The Office' was first televised. It just made everything else look so old fashioned.

  84. What is with the wind chimes? Not feeling it. Glad Julianna won. Love me some Christine Baranski, such an underrated actress so I was glad to see a shout out. Totally agree with this being the most awkward, clumsy Emmy's ever.

    ReplyDelete
  85. and Juliannae Margulies---the past winner

    ReplyDelete
  86. Well, that goes without saying, Derek!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Forgive my ignorance, but who decides the Emmy winners? Is it an Academy, like the Oscars?

    ReplyDelete
  109. 100 years from now the film experts will unearth this vault of something called television. They'll think "how quaint"! Then they'll watch 7 seasons of Bryan Cranston and say "dayyuumm... that's what acting is."

    ReplyDelete
  110. Damn, Breaking Bad wins best drama. Nearly a clean sweep.

  118. The Emmy Awards are decided by television actors and crew people, who spend all year talking about how they don't watch TV. I've heard stories that many of them let their assistants and agents fill out their ballots. Just like every awards show now, I take the results with a huge grain of salt because there is soooooooo much politicking going on behind the scenes.

But I still like to watch them for some reason.

    ReplyDelete
  119. At least that show won't be eligible next year. Time for Shameless to get in there and start winning some shit.

That's it for me I'm going to now watch the Col-Bort Re-Port.

    ReplyDelete
  142. @derek harvey
Maybe 'Girls' is just not for the conventional middle-of-the-road voter, Derek. If these people are voting for 'Modern Family' every year, then they clearly don't respect anything contemporary.

    ReplyDelete
  153. @derek. thank you always for the backup.. i sometimes remember to thank you but sometimes forget.. always sugarhugs and thanks..
girls was really loved and cool season 1 but then lena b/c such a pretentious twat and was accused many times of plagiarism and "quietly settled" w/ her writers for stealing there stuff..the industry has quickly/ swiftly turned on her,, she is supposedly a majahhh biotch to werk w/
i think she has been softly blackballed by a lot of peeps in the biz who resent her elitist attitude.. like the writer version of Katherine heighl..

    ReplyDelete
  154. she's also not so quietly made her displeasure known that EVERYONE ELSE From the show's career is popping off except hers.. adam driver doing star wars and zosie booking movies and allison being the new it fashion girl and now pan. when adam got star wars, she made some back handed compliments about how glad she was able to create a platform to discover these talented people.. but it was clearly drenched w/ jealousy and backhanded..

    ReplyDelete
  155. lena hasn't booked anything since season 1 while everyone else is flying past her and it's clearly pissing her off..

    ReplyDelete
  156. she wrote a book................I can argue all night-and I agree she rips OUR FAV actress off---but......in the words of Miley "I think its super cool" -night xo NIGHT!

    ReplyDelete
  157. and wrote the show and directs the show A LOT

    ReplyDelete
  158. and Jemima has made it quite clear she is a girls girl----Alyson taking over Kristen Bells role---oh the humainy. and Zosia Mamet has a orta famous father whom in 2 weeks from now will have A LOT of explaining to do

    ReplyDelete
  159. @sugbr---she booked a gig at th TORNTO COMEDAY FESTIVAL ---I could never afford the tickets for what its worth

  166. Did anyone think lilo will show after opening night? ? Nope. But he gets tons of publicity for a show that would have come and gone without lilo name. She pretty got paid very little because she needed to be booked doing something more than she needed to work. Just the idea that David Mammet would hire her is worth it for both of them $$$ wise. Free publicity. .
