Charles Keating, a classically trained Shakespearean actor well known to daytime-TV fans for his Emmy-winning run as Another World‘s Carl Hutchins, has died. He was 72.
For a second, I thought you meant the Charles Keating that stole $500 million with the crooked S&L he ran in the 1980s. He was convicted, but the case was thrown out due to the mistakes of the judge, the ever incompetent, Lance Ito! I'm sure the money is hidden away in the Caymans, Panama or Lichtenstein, for his rotten grandchildren. One of whom is Gary Hall Jr., a champion swimmer, who for some reason is against cheating in sports, but I guess not in banking!
I am so sad. Loved him on AMC and especially AW. I told my husband Carl Hutchins died (knew he wouldn't recognize Charles Keating), and he looked at me for a second and said "But Carl Hutchins never dies!" LOL
I adored him on Another World! Carl Hutchins was such a cad but one that left a lasting memory! Linda Dano wrote the most beautiful piece on her facebook page about him today.
He was a great villain

ReplyDeleteRIP Keating.
I remember him on AW and as the guy who painted Charlotte's vagina on Sex and the City.
ReplyDeleteHe was nasty in that show and he married Rachel. (I think but almost everyone married Rachel eventually). RIP.
ReplyDeleteRIP.

I just saw the episode with him and Charlotte. He was the bomb on AW. Rip
ReplyDeleteBack in the '80s when I used to watch daytime TV, he was on "All My Children." He was always fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteRIP, sir.
