Although every person in first class knew who he was, this sometime A+ list mostly movie actor, who is an Academy Award winner/nominee insisted that everyone call him Frank. He would only respond to that and when someone would ask him if he was________, he would get angry and say his name was Frank. Crazy.

I just loved him in Valley Girl when I was a teenager. He's never lived up to that since, though Birdy and Moonstruck came close.
ReplyDeleteRaising Arizona. He was brilliant, they all were.
Delete"Turn to the right!"
The Rock.
DeleteThe. Rock.
THE. ROCK.
Can you tell I friggin love that silly little movie? I briefly fell in love with nerdy neurotic Nic Cage.
love valley girl!! totally deb!!
DeleteValley Girl 4ever! I dated a guy in HS who was a Nic Cage in Valley Girl lookalike (not for a job, just damn - looked just like him). So yeah, that movie takes me back - super hot times to the max.
DeleteMaybe he was in character for a future toke. You know how these method actors are.
ReplyDeleteWhat is supposed to be in the blank spot?
ReplyDelete@Crila "Nicolas Coppola"
DeleteOk actually it's "Nic Cage," but when I went to write "his real name" in response I remembered that is not in fact his actual name.
then call him frank dammit
ReplyDeleteHIPPOLAS CAGE
ReplyDeleteOh, son...
ReplyDeleteI Love Nic Cage in his acting. His bad one's? Gotta eat, gotta pay..
ReplyDeleteIt surprises me often, how many of his films I Like:
Con Air
Raising Arizona
Face Off
Valley Girl (that may not seem like many but it's more then I expect)
Moonstruck!
DeleteMoonstruck! (hand to head) Duh!
DeleteChrissy! Bring me the big knife!
I confess, I'd call him Frank if he wanted. Raising Arizona is my favorite movie of all time, and I loved The Rock, Face/Off, Leaving Las Vegas, and who can forget Con Air?
ReplyDeleteThat Wicker Man movie was 11,000 kinds of stupid, though.
he's method...
ReplyDeletehis next part is an a$$hole on a plane.
RIP Good Nice Cage Movies
ReplyDeleteWe shall mourn you, and keep your memories alive through our DVD players.

ReplyDeleteHe got famous playing pretty much the same crazy guy over & over. Which wasn't all that far from what he was.
ReplyDeleteCrazy would be if he said his last name was "N. Beans".
ReplyDeleteLOL, Nipple
DeleteLOL @ Nipple! How'd you get the beans above the frank?
ReplyDeleteUmm hello, let's not forget about Peggy Sue Got Married! That's a Classic! Charlie and his nasal voice.
ReplyDelete@Jessi, Peggy Sue! I loved that one, too!
ReplyDeleteI confess, I'm probably one of the few people on earth who liked Ghost Rider. Sam Elliot, Wes Bentley, and Donal Logue! I also liked Lord of War.
I was appalled they brought him back to do another Ghost Rider movie. I remember when he wanted to be cast as Superman. *shudder*
DeleteStein. Frank Stein...
ReplyDeleteI never liked him, never got the appeal. Probably because I grew up with so many dumb apes like him.
Preparation for a film role perhaps.
ReplyDeleteWas he impersonating his uncle?
ReplyDeleteMeh
ReplyDeleteI like Nic Cage as a weirdo - wouldn't have him any other way
There's a fine line between eccentric talented artist and crazy pain-in-the-ass, & he left the former behind to board the crazy train quite some time ago.
ReplyDeleteRode in a small elevator with him at the St Regis in NYC years ago. I didn't acknowledge that I knew who he was. When I entered the elevator he politely asked what floor I needed and then made idle chit chat about the weather. Boring, I know.
ReplyDeleteHe isnt firing on all pistons, thats forc sure. Frank it is then.
ReplyDeleteI'd start asking if he was Dustin Hoffman, Tom Hanks, or Channing Tatum -- anyone famous but Nic Cage. Or Frank.
ReplyDeleteI believe he's "Frank" in a role being filmed in LaLa Land, some devil worship movie???
ReplyDeleteSomeone please verify this for me, I'd like to be right once.
How can you forget Matchstick Men? That's my 2nd favorite Nic Cage movie - Valley Girl will always be #1. He never looked that hot again.
ReplyDeleteWas he wearing a cowboy hat and was the destination airport anywhere near a truck stop?
ReplyDeleteureallyannoyme, very good...lol.
ReplyDeleteI loooved the rock & con-air,valleygirl,too.. "JOE" is good Nick acting too.
I was going to do a profile on him but his management insisted I call him Mr Cage, so I said forget it.
ReplyDeleteBad lieutenant
