This actress used to be A list. It was a brief run at the top of the list, but her time there imprinted her on the world and she still continues to enjoy A+ list name recognition even though her first movie was about 30 years ago. It is hard to believe it has been that long since she made her entrance. It was that same time period that also saw one of her first co-stars get his start in movies. He is A+ list now. Our actress always had a thing for guys who were bad boys. She was known as someone who wouldn't mind if you wanted to rough her up a little bit and she was supposedly very willing to do whatever any guy wanted. Some say she was abused as a teen which led to this type of relationship. Sometimes the guys got completely out of hand and she suffered her fair share of beatings. One of those beatings kept her unemployed for three months and she lost a major role because of it. Her career never recovered after that miss. To say she has dated some of the more famous figures of all-time would be fair to say. One of those people was enamored with her and spent millions of dollars on her. Well, the movie version of her. Our actress did her best acting when she was with this guy. He flew her all over the world and she still has millions of dollars of jewels he gave her and is living off the money she received during and after the relationship even though it ended almost 20 years ago. The reason he left her was because he found someone even more famous than our actress. She really couldn't believe she was being dumped, at least for someone who was roughly her same age. She would show up at the guy's apartment and his homes around the world and one time was thrown in jail because the guards of his new A+ list celebrity girlfriend viewed her as a threat. She finally backed off after that visit and a nice healthy check from her boyfriend's dad. That is how he usually handled the affairs of his son.

@ VIP (or anyone), I don't understand why you link to the original blind via the "Nailed it" text. The same link is already in the date at the top of the post. Is this just to prevent the need for extra scrolling?
DeleteBeen meaning to ask that for ages...
Yay VIP! xo and more good work from Montana again!
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame about Jackson Browne---I like his tunes
I'm a huge Jackson Browne fan and have a hard time believing the stories of him beating her. I've never heard her linked to Dodi before.
ReplyDeleteShe's recently confirmed she's an Aspie, so that definitely adds an element of complexity to her personal relationships.
Sad.
ReplyDeleteShe sure liked her rich guys didn't she? Dodo and JFK Jr. (Who I wont believe played rough with her sorry).
ReplyDeleteWhoa. Daryl, didnt know she was so active in dating world. Where did she sandwich in JFK jr? Anyway hannah is autistic, she talks about it in an interview. Mb thats why behavior erratic. And i scoured the internet to prove she was beat by Jackson Brown- she was not. They had a fight, she was agressor and got some cuts as browne tried to calm her down. Judge ruled no abuse. Many many people not on his pay or pussy roll testified to his good charactor. I feel i must say this as for years i thought he was woman beater and told if it ever came up.
ReplyDelete@auntliddy If my memory serves me correct, she was dating JFK Jr prior to the woman who became his wife. The almighty Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis did not approve so they had to end the relationship.
DeleteNice spelchek I like Dodo over Dodi though.
ReplyDeleteOk found more info to defend JB and question Enty's blind. Pretty woman came out in 1990. The alleged beating was in 1992. So there was no way she lost the role because of the supposed beating.
ReplyDeleteStill love my JB.
Didn't say that beating ended the relationship. They were together during the casting of Pretty Woman.
DeleteLove this.
ReplyDeleteOh and Aunt Liddy you are right. The police came, there was no beating, but the negative press picked it up and the alleged beating became fact. JB did defend himself but didn't pursue vindication in court. No other persons have ever come forward to make similar accusations against him. Still team Jackson!
ReplyDeleteI loved her in Roxanne. One of Steve Martin's great performances, too.
ReplyDeleteI meant "fact".
ReplyDeleteDaryl comes from a very wealthy family
ReplyDeleteI always got a sad vibe from her. Makes me sad that she fucked with her gorgeous face. As far as abuse, who knows? I love Jackson Browne but it wouldn't surprise me. *shrug*
ReplyDeleteDaryl and JFK Jr. babies woulda been gorgeous!
Never knew Jackson Brownie was an abuser. Poor Daryl, I've always thought she was a good actress but never got the credit she deserved.
ReplyDeleteCongrats FSP and Montana!
That is so hot Darryl Hannah enjoyed getting roughed up. If she is interested, I'll give her a lump or 2.
ReplyDeleteShe would have been much better in Pretty Woman than that horrible harpie they cast.
ReplyDeleteJulia pooped all over that movie. I'm still upset by it.
CoBe- I'm not a big Roberts fan but come on, she made that movie and it is one of the best rom/coms of all time. Don't mess with success. Every time I hear one of these stories about some star passing on something that turns out huge the first thing I think is thank god, it might have been nothing if that star had gotten it.

ReplyDeleteDamn. Someone is a bitter Betty!
ReplyDeleteThere is NO EXCUSE to make up lies about abuse. What a piece of shit.
ReplyDeletejfk once said that Darryl often puts a guy in situations that would make them hurt her but when pressed he didnt say anything else
ReplyDeleteIf you have ever read "girls like us" there is a significant amount of pages dedicated to Joni Mitchell and Jackson Brownes relationship. He was horrid to her. I can totally believe this
ReplyDeleteVanesa-shes no ray of sunshine either. I read a book about 3 or 4 female singers if that era and how they tried to make it in shiw biz. They all, male and female, have huge egos and kinda stepped over one another to get ahead. And men of yhat era treated women as second class citizens.
DeleteFor example, joni was canadian, and wanted to get in US to get ahead. She had had a son, and this douche she married said he'd adopt her son, and because he was american citizen, they cld all go to america. She agreed, they married. Then he said he wasnt going to adopt the boy, and she says she was forced to put him in foster care to go to america. Now that wld hv been big time deal breaker for me, him going back on his word and not caring her son in foster care, BUT SHE DID IT AND CAME TO AMERICA. im sure she regrets it now. Maybe not, idk. But getting ahead was the almighty nirvana.
Just rechecked myself, it was a baby girl, not a boy.
DeleteThis article in the 80s mentions her autism. It's very interesting and talks about the mega rich family.

love it! i can appreciate a woman who doesnt live a safe vanilla life. the have the BEST auto/bio's.
ReplyDeletenot suggesting that her rough guy fetish is ok, so i dont want anyone to read too much into this comment.
@Vanessa D
ReplyDeleteThank you for writing this, if you hadn't I would have.
Daryl's STEPFATHER was rich and she didn't get any money from him. Also, she was never up for "Pretty Woman." As mentioned before, the dates don't match. And every producer in Hollywood thought she was too dumb to put in a movie. That's why she has never had a big career. Jackie Kennedy thought she was stupid and said she looked like an "unmade bed."
ReplyDeleteI also don't agree that she has A list name recognition. Not among anyone under 40.
Pretty Woman was a great movie IN SPITE OF Julia, not because of her.
ReplyDeleteCobr and all- nah, be fair, roberts made that movie. She was wonderful
DeleteCome on CoBe. Let it go. We all know she is a bitch but that has to be one of the dumbest things you've ever posted. Right- Arguably the most popular rom/com ever made despite the acting of female lead. Especially when she won the golden globe and was nominated for an academy award for best actress for that role.
DeleteSometimes the weight of a movie surpasses it's stars. I think "Pretty Woman" was one of those. And, as much as I'm no longer a fan of Julia, the chemistry between her and Richard was perfect.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that Jackson Browne wasn't the violent man I'd heard of previously. Wonder what he's up to these days.
I don't know whether Daryl was up for the Pretty Woman role or not. However, I think Daryl would have been too fragile of a personality in that role. The film would have been completely different--darker--than it was with Julia. Julia's character wasn't a victim--that's what made the movie a rom-com and not a dark comedy.
ReplyDeleteInteresting link to '19 things you didn't know about Pretty Woman. PRETTY WOMAN
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't mention Daryl Hannah but does say role offered to Sandra Bullock, Sarah Jessica Parker, and (believe it or not) Kristen Davis. If true Kristin Davis must have nightmares about turning it down, although, as I said earlier, the movie might not have been successful with her in the role.

ReplyDeleteJFK Jr's comments in particular cast a lot of doubt on Daryl's story (not that he was free of his own controversies, of course):
ReplyDeletealt.gossip.celebrities article
@auntliddy: IIRC, Joni's baby girl was in foster care because Joni couldn't keep her as a single woman (illegitimacy in the mid-'60s was incredibly shameful, and the odds very much against any woman who tried to keep her baby), and Chuck Mitchell had indeed agreed to help her get her daughter back, but reneged on it after they were married. It was a rough situation for Joni to be in--her husband didn't want the kid, and she wouldn't have been able to raise her alone--so she did what she felt was best for her daughter and signed the papers allowing her to be adopted, and wrote the song "Little Green" about it. They were reunited some time over the past 15-20 years after her daughter, by then a grown woman w/a little boy of her own, went looking for her birth parents (yes, she's met her birth father as well); the last I heard, they were all reasonably close, and Joni gets to be a grandmother now. (I can't help but feel that Chuck Mitchell's lack of success as a folk musicians was to some extent due to karma; then again, Joni would probably never have been able to take off the way she did if she were looking after a small child, so perhaps things worked out for the best--who knows?)
ReplyDeleteWow.
ReplyDeleteThat's a juicy blind.
As for Jackson Browne...no surprise there. My mom worked at Billboard back when he was at his peak--he had rumors of being a batterer following him around then. I had liked one of his songs when I was a kid, and when it came on the radio on the drive home from school Mom switched the station. "but mom, I love that song!" I told her, thinking she'd be impressed that I liked a song from her generation, and I genuinely did. That's when she told me about him and his "temper."
From Wikipedia: Kennedy dated actress Daryl Hannah for five and a half years. Their relationship ended shortly after his mother's death. Kennedy and Hannah had known each other since the early 1980s, when they had met while the families of both were vacationing in St. Maarten. Kennedy and Hannah saw each other again in 1988 at the wedding of Lee Radziwill and director Herbert Ross. One reason for strains in their relationship were Hannah's feelings for singer Jackson Browne, whom she had lived with for a time. Hannah would get close to Kennedy, but kept getting drawn back to Browne and tried to work things out with the singer. The two became close following a confrontation between Hannah and Browne, after which she and Kennedy began living together in her New York City apartment.
ReplyDeleteBrowne is a well-known abuser from way back - also used to smack around Joni Mitchell while he was with her at the beginning of his career. Pretty sure he abused (and cheated on) his first wife, who committed suicide. The guy's a tool.
ReplyDeleteDidn't know about Fayed though - I thought the highest Hannah ever went was JFK Jr. Glad she got something out of it, though.
JUICY!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell.
ReplyDeletePretty Woman had a crappy plot. She plays a STREETWALKER with really slutty manners at the start. Then she gets hired to service some rich man. So they're both amoral. Then they fall in love and all of a sudden two days later she's all genteel and crying at the opera and falling in love?
ReplyDeletePuh-leeze.
Yes I would hardly decided Jackson Browne was not an abuser because he got away with it once. Jackson Browne is not an abuser like Josh Brolin is not an abuser.
ReplyDeleteJoni's words.....and music about this issue.
