This former B list mostly television actress from a now canceled almost network big hit has been trying out the dating world. The actress who has been on again and off again with her former co-star has been set up on some blind dates. Two of the last three blind dates have seen the guys walk out on her. One was just during coffee. The other was during dinner. That guy did pay the bill though as he walked out.

DeleteI used to really like her. First saw her on the soap Generations, and then loved her on Homefront. At the time I thought she was destined for a great career. To me she is a less annoying Katherine Heigl type. She really blew it with trying to paint her ex as the bad guy, and is paying for it now with lost custody.

Free advice for Kelly - do not talk about your ex husband and how unfair life is on a blind date or you will never get a second date.
ReplyDeleteThis is the mistake many divorced men and women make. If you can't have a conversation with dissing the ex and going on and on about your custody and support payment issues on the first date you are not ready to date.
Never mind if you have issues which explain why you are divorced that you still haven't worked on.

ReplyDeleteI think the dates run not because of talking about the ex but her general, overall personality. This woman is VILE and EVIL and I don't think she can hide it anymore. I don't think she will ever get another man to fall for her after what she did to her two husbands. Plus, she needs a man with money and no man with money needs her.

Eh. They're blind dates in Los Angeles, and they suck even when you're not famous. I went on a few of them, and one guy took one look at me, decided there wasn't any chemistry, but rather than sitting down for a cup of coffee and acting like a human being for a half an hour, he instead said he really wasn't interested and left me standing in the coffee shop doorway. (We had both driven over an hour to meet up.) The worst part was once he got home, he sent me an e-mail explaining that he just didn't want to waste any more time since I wasn't what he was expecting. I e-mailed back that he hadn't sounded like a dumbass on the phone. Believe it or not, he THEN replied back that I should be thanking him for standing me up. Boggles the mind, doesn't it? So, yeah, I'm not passing judgement on her on this one.
ReplyDelete@Topper - OUCH. I had one almost as bad. I met a guy for coffee, he seemed a little taciturn and disinterested but I did my best - I'm a big talker anyway so I chattered away for an hour, feeling uncomfortable the whole time ... at almost EXACTLY the hour mark he thanked me for meeting him, got up, paid for his coffee and left. It was like he was signaling in big letters JUST WASTED AN HOUR OF MY LIFE.

I read recently that Kelly Rutherford lost a court appeal to keep her kids in the state and the next day (which would have been a few days ago) she had to put them on a plane to Europe.
Not sure when this blind came out but she's been embroiled in this custody thing for years, and you know it has to be all-consuming, and I bet she sat there with her blind dates and couldn't stop herself from going on and on about her kids and the custody case, like a free therapy session, and NOBODY wants to listen to that, especially when they think they're going to meet someone who's somebody in Hollywood.
Agree with prunella, she prob was talking about that and the guys bolted.
DeleteWe loved her when she was on "Homefront" with Kyle Chandler. She really sounds awful with what she's done to the men in her life.
ReplyDeleteAs for the blind dating stuff, it is brutal out there. Kinda' hard to judge this without knowing more. It does surprise me that guys wouldn't hang around a bit to try to hit it and quit it (unless she's batshit like Anne Heche in your living room).
I have heard so many stories about how horrible and scheming she is, this does not surprise me. Makes it hard for me to feel bad for her custody problems.

I don't know anything about her being scheming or manipulative, but cosplay is right on target. She still to this day lives and presents herself as if she is Lily van der Woodsen, UES. (I believe she now plays a similar character on Reckless.)

ReplyDeleteHer first husband got sick on their honeymoon and it turned out to be a serious disease and he needed nursing care and some love from his wife. She decided she just couldn't be bothered so she walked out and filed for divorce. I guess she must have been playing with her hair at the "in sickness" part of the vows. He's dead now. She's HORRID!!!
Does anyone know that she's not a nice person from first hand experience? I don't know either way. However has it been considered that the guys were dirt bags? There's a lot of supposition as to what she may have said from no factual basis/source.

ReplyDeleteI don't know anything about her relationships. I only know that which is public record - that she turned her ex in to the State Department in hopes that he would be deported (he was). The plan backfired on her, though, because it was ruled that their children should like primarily with their father, since he cannot visit them in the U.S.
