This B list mostly movie actor is going to drop to C soon if he can't find another television or movie hit. The actor, who is still really good looking and living off one great rom com movie he made almost a decade ago was hammered the other night at an event and trying to convince the woman he was with that when she caught him making out with another woman at the same event that it was just a friendly thing.
Butler
ReplyDeleteJosh Lucas?
ReplyDeleteSweet home Alabama was 2002
DeleteMichael Vartan
ReplyDeleteMovie: Never Been Kissed
DeleteTV show: Alias
But NBK was 1999
DeleteCould be..this was hella vague blind lol
DeleteSeth Rogan, possibly Hugh Grant?
ReplyDeleteCam Gigandet
ReplyDeleteEasy A
Reckless on cbs is a huge hit right now. Got picked up for 2nd season
DeleteButler/3000
ReplyDelete300? I think it was like a braveheart type move...not a romcom?
DeleteOwen wilson?
ReplyDeleteIt's vague! All ?

ReplyDeleteHugh Grant
ReplyDeleteAgreed that this is vague but lets work this out. Enty gives us the following clues:
ReplyDeleteB list actor
worked on both tv (possibly a popular one) & movies
starred in a big rom-com hit circa 2005
not married ( no mention of wife, enty always makes it a point to mention it if that is the case)
vince vaughan? wedding crashers? i dunno how really good looking he is
ReplyDeleteMichael Vartan might work if Enty means Monster in law (2005) rather than Never Been Kissed...
ReplyDeleteor Chad Michael Murrary (Cinderella Story, 2004/One Tree Hill)
Does sounds like Gerard Butler but wouldn't it say foreign born? Also don't know how much tv he did over here.
Really good looking@snitch..to me:)
ReplyDeleteBut no tv and very big movie hits
I've pulled that off more than once on the same night back in college.
ReplyDeleteDermot Mulroney/my best friends wedding
ReplyDeleteTv work past-friends..recently reoccurring spots on New Girl, and a couple shows this year that didn't do to well
DeleteI think Vartan is French born. So if Butlerr is out for foreign born, Vartan is too.
ReplyDeleteI did love him in both Alias and Never been Kissed.
The Notebook guy? Sorry, I'm new to this sandbox :)
ReplyDeleteWelce Suze! I almost never have a guess so don't be shy when you do. It's all good!
ReplyDeleteWelcome. WTF is welce spellczech?
Delete@all lace yup, French born.
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was Mulroney too @tricia but that was 1997, so timeline bit off?
hmmm, Thomas Jane? (the sweetest thing 2002 - might not fit timeline either)
You're playing fast and loose with the word "great", Enty. It's been thirty plus years since Hollywood made a great romantic comedy.
ReplyDeleteThis is what is comes down to: 'Monster in Law' or 'The Wedding Date'. Talk about Sophie's Choice. I'll vote for Michael Vartan, I guess
ReplyDeleteZach Braff
ReplyDeleteGood guess...but not really good looking..don't think he's described that way...but film fits:)
ReplyDelete@Tricia +1. I also read it as Josh Lucas.
ReplyDelete@greengirl. Thanks for break down it helps.
ReplyDelete@Tricia S I like Dermmott guess.
What year was "Must Love Dogs"?
Of coarse my first thought was Butler. Esp after seeing those tacky pics of him leading some bikini clad (and tiny shorts that were u zipped) chick into a parking lot at the beach last weekend. The article said he didn't want to take her out, basically just get a little behind a strangers parked car but the paps found them. Lol. And gross.
ReplyDeleteBut I know he doesn't fit this Bl
DeleteButler hasn't done TV since Attila in the early 2000s. He is all movie right now. And he is best know for 300.
ReplyDelete@ SYF ..2005!!!
ReplyDeleteThink we have a winner :)
@topper thx...I feel it's him or dermit M..always described as "still"really good looking
ReplyDeleteWell...they are!!
Dermot still has a career. It's not Butler, he's book through 2016. I think it's Vartan. Vartan may be foreign born but I don't think he's thought of that way. And his imdb page is dead. D-e-d. Dead.
ReplyDeleteA "big" romcom to me would be When Harry met Sally, or Pretty Woman, and those of it's ilk.
ReplyDeleteLuke Wilson - Legally Blonde? He's done TV, sits around a B rating, and has been a mess with the ladies in recent times.
ReplyDeleteI dunno!
@Bee Haven
ReplyDeleteDo you enjoy old Hollywood films, Bee? The 1930's were the golden era for romantic comedies (and there was crossover with screwball comedy, e.g. Preston Sturges work). Especially the work of the director Ernst Lubitsch. My absolute favourite is a 1932 film called 'Trouble in Paradise', it is pure gold.
300 is not a RomCom but he did do a movie with Heigl didn't he?
ReplyDeleteYeah he did the ugly truth with heigl, some bounty hunter thing with aniston and ps I love you with hilary swank.
