  8. I'm confused (shocker). If he/she is openly gay, why is this a blind? Is it the virgin part? Not trying to be troll-y. I'm perplexed.

    1. Probably. This blind is hard for me because I don't keep up with today's music.

    1. Oh no! Sad day. Looks also like my darling Ethel cat is slowing moving to the rainbow bridge as well. Sorry to lump an unknown pet with a comedic icon. Just had to share.

    2. Sorry to hear that, Sherry. Facing the end of a furry family member's life isn't easy :(

    3. Sherry, im sure your unknown pet has shown more sweetness and empathy in its life than that particular famous icon- best wishes to you-

  15. Sam Smith. He already stated this so why is this a blind. This reads more like a trivia question.

  16. Sam Smith has a hit??? I thought he was just a friend of the Ktrash and someone was trying to make him happen.

    1. OMG! What is this world coming too. Just listened to some of his stuff on youtube. Now which of these snoozers is supposed to be a hit???? I hope he is a one hit wonder in that case although every song sounds the same- moany and slow. Maybe he can do soundtracks for sad drama/romance flicks.

  17. He's probably a virgin because he puts on one of his albums when he is with someone and they node off before they can do the deed.

  18. @Sherry
Oh no, Sherry! I'm so sorry.
I do love her name, though.

    1. Thanks Yoj. Her litter mate and sister is Lucy. She's seen over 20 yrs on this planet with me so I shouldn't be so greedy to want more. She's always been the grand dame of the house and the most loveable cat ever.

    2. 20 years is a lot of memories. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts.

  19. Sam Smith's album was #2 in the U.S. and 'Stay with Me' was #1. Would that be enough to make him A-list?

If you were mainstream, texas, you wouldn't fit in so well here at CDaN.

  26. @Sherry
Twenty years! You've obviously taken tremendously good care of her.
With a name like Ethel, she'd have to be lady of the house.
Please hug little Lucy for me, and Ethel too, if it wouldn't cause her pain.

IDK, as a straight guy myself, Count.

Maybe you can first tell us what did you considering losing yer cherry as? Oral sex, vaginal sex, or when your girl used a strap-on on you?

    ;)

  30. Sherry, I'm sorry you're losing your sweetheart. I had to have mine euthanized June 25th and am still traumatized. Mind you he was too young, but after battling and winning multiple health problems caused by severe neglect, he developed cancer. Sometimes life just isn't fair... At least he had 19 happy months with me.

I'm dealing with another impending death of a much loved furball. But he is much older. Still, we've battled and won a few infections that I thought would take him down once and for all. I didn't go into work on Thursday & Friday because of my "dying pet". My boss was less than impressed. He really did almost die, though. I even had an appointment booked for euthanasia.

But the antibiotic we chose is working (shot in the dark) and he's gaining ground. Still isn't walking very well. I'm buying time with this disease-ridden creature, and I'm grateful for every additional day I get with him.

Another OT - looks like Joan Rivers is losing her battle too, according to TMZ. It's not just a medically induced coma. She's on full life support. This can't be good...

That must have been a great sacrifice, Tricia. I'm sending you a hug.
I can't have pets in my building, either. Sometimes I feel sorry for myself, but then I read about the heartbreak of bereaved owners and realize that I have no cause to complain.

  34. @sherry: big hug, babe.

  36. I'm sorry, Sherry, and Unknown too--we love our furballs and do our best for them, but in the end they just don't live as long as we do. *hugs* At least Ethel had a good long life, and Unknown, your boy had 19 good months with someone who loved him. *more hugs*

I firmly believe this means only good things in the big grand picture of life. I know your Ethel loves you very much! :)

  42. @Lady Heisenberg
    Welcome, Lady H.
Only for you would I be googling 'Padres Baseball' News to find out who was inducted this week, then googling 'Trevor Hoffman' Images. That's unheard of for someone whose interest in sports starts and ends with hay-eating four-legged creatures.

  43. So Joan, was yet another plastic surgery worth it? :(

    ReplyDelete
  44. A virgin past the age of 16. Horrid and scandalous!
    It does happen,you know...

    ReplyDelete
  45. @mmoshki: It's unlikely that Joan Rivers was having plastic surgery at an outpatient endoscopy center.
She probably was getting something done on her vocal cords, as the reports say.
But at her age, 81, that stuff should be done in the hospital, as an inpatient.
I'm not a doctor, but I'll guess her vocal cords spasmed & prevented her from breathing & they had no way to quickly fix that in the endoscopy center.
TMZ has online that she's on full mechanical life support & her daughter is waiting out the weekend to see if she improves or has to pull the plug.

  49. Sherry , I hope you're ok. It's hard to feel so helpless when your friend is suffering. I'm sure Ethel snuggled with you through all the things life throws at you.
Huge hugs to you & Lucy, & extra huge ones for Ethel.

  50. Lady H, Brenda, Count, Rolo, et al. Thanks for everyone for your sympathies. It truly means so much to me. Much love to all. And of course my hugs to anyone who is dealing with or who has had to say goodbye to a do, cat, horse (Count) or any animal who has made us appreciate the beauty of other sentient beings we've shared our lives with. How anyone can say they don't love or have real feelings I will never understand. Those heartless souls miss out on the beauty of this world. Selah.

  51. Obviously Sam Smith.

Lorde isn't out, for one thing.

  52. Sam Smith....

He could happily sit a home for the rest of his life and live well, hes a great song writer and has guest vocals credits on a few hits before his solo success.

    He's good

  53. @Sherry, I had to let a kitty go in February. He and his brother came to me as feral kittens, they were my youngest, really bonded with each other, and I thought after my three older kitties went, that these two would be my "grow old beside the fireplace" cats.

But the universe had other plans for him. He got an aggressive cancer that saw lymph fluid gushing into his abdomen and then his chest cavity. I had no choice but to let him go. I drove him 75 miles at midnight on SuperBowl Sunday to a vet school where he'd been treated ... he had gotten used to the drive and even liked road trips! I knew I had a few hours before his breathing got really bad. I brought up his bed and his blankie and his favorite hairbrush, so everything would smell familiar. He was only seven years old, and he didn't know he was dying. He was so HAPPY the last hour of his life. And it being after midnight, everything was quiet at the vet school. I brushed him, and petted him, and he purred and kneaded, and then he went to sleep.

If you haven't let Ethel go yet, please be with her at the end. Let the last thing she sees be your loving face. And it will be a comfort to you to know that her passing was peaceful.

Then plant some flower seeds in your garden - they'll remind you of her when they grow.

  54. Such a weird BI. An "openly gay one hit wonder virgin"? Next we'll hear they can't drive.

Sherry, I'm so sorry to hear about Ethel. She's a lovely and lucky little lady to have both of you there for her in her last days. Many hugs to you, and to all who shared about losing their furry friends. Those little beasts worm their way into your heart and there's no going back. :')
