Maybe John Denver? My mom listened to his live double album nonstop when I was little. I still love his music and feel so sad about his untimely death.
Meanie, Mr. F and I are going to Vegas next week for our 20th anniversary, and guess who has tickets to see Donny and Marie?? THIS middle-aged gal!! (And my very sweet hubs arranged all of it on the sly to surprise me, even the D & M tickets.) Seventies 4 ever, baby!
P.S. - I'm counting on all y'all to entertain me this afternoon - I've got the whambulance on standby; summertime flu is making me cranky and sad. I need something really great to happen 'round here to life my spirits, K?
Elijiah Wood too! Oh yeah and Shawn Hatosy as the jock. John Stewart and Famke Jansen as teachers! And the kids spend the movie snorting caffeine tabs lol. Best movie ever.
Haha further back and out of the closet: William Shatner as Captain Kirk. He was kinda hot before his vain side really flowered. Bruce Springsteen when Born to Run first came out. I would've been off down Thunder Road in a heartbeat-
On Sunday nights my family was always out on tbe beach at the fire pitt. My dad had to buy me a battery / portable little TV so I (and my bestie alwsys with me)wouldn't miss the Hardy Boys. But I was all about Parker! My gf, the Shawn lover, called him Porker. But I would have gladly taken Shaun too. Sooooo pretty, he was.
David Bowie in the Labyrinth and Peter from the Monkees. I use to watch The Monkees on Nickelodeon when I got home from school. And my sister and I loved the Labyrinth...I was 6 and she was 4 and we sang all the songs. I could never understand why she was running away from Jareth.
Thanks for the kind words, guys. I'm truly just sick enough to throw myself a pity party. Gotta just focus on the gossip to get through the rough times :-).
Susan ^5 on the GH shout outs. Frisco, Jason, Stone & Jagger were all so good looking but they were "adults" when I was watching. I crushed on Jonathon Jackson ( Lucky ) & adore him on Nashville now !!!
Tried posting earlier on this one but having some technical difficulties. Michael Jackson all the way! Also I'm a big fan of the site but new as a commenter. Hey y'all!
Gabrielle Anwar in Scent Of A Woman. That Dress!!! Then I saw her play a figure skating cutie on the old 90210 where Brandon made out with her. Stupid Brandon.
Leonardo Dicaprio during his Titanic days! My friends and I would brag about how many times we saw the movie. I had a crush on Trey Parker, who is one of the guys who created South Park. He is the one without the curlu hair. I ended up buying the movie BASEketball because of my obsession.
After American Beauty, I had the hots for Kevin Spacey. After watching Ghost World it was Steve Buscemi. I still have a soft spot for Steve Buscemi because he is awesome.
Tie. Kirk Cameron (vomit) and Trey Ames. Any one remember him. Kid on a TV. Some show about a family moving to Australia and his sister couldn't speak.
@dev I'm with u on Slash, even today. Gawd, out in the desert playing his guitar with hat and no shirt? #BESTCHESTVEVAH
(Uncle Jesi - I revealed when I first came here, been there and coulda done that but I declined. BUT that doesn't mean I don't think he was,and still is, hawt. Not trying to brag, got nothing to brag about, just sharing so e tea.)
Same as @tara. Jason Bateman, the bad boy on Silver Spoons. OMG I would have died for him and the feelings have not changed a bit. Neither has he, still looks the exact same. I think he is the devil in disguise LOL. 2nd is when Nick Rhodes stepped into my world via MTV. Sorry Nick, but that love is long gone. Still like the music but I question what I was thinking when Simon is clearly the hot one.
George Michael. I was five years old and I thought his name was Wham. I also thought I would marry Michael Jackson until my Grandmother told me I couldn't because he was black. That was news to me. :-)
Jane Badler. They were airing V here when I was about 5. My teacher at school told us to draw someone we liked and I drew her with her character name (Diana) in the local spelling. It was several years later that I found the reason I remembered her above all of the actors in the show.
First one once I was old enough to have an idea of what to do with a broad: Heather Locklear. I was probably the only dude in my elementary school who watched Dynasty, just so I could get a weekly dose of her.
Memory is a bit foggy, but I think Donny Osmond, Michael Jackson and Tony DeFranco might have all happened at about the same time. And Tony DeFranco's sisters were my first girl crushes I think, tall beautiful brunettes.
Shaun Cassidy Mark hunter (Gallipoli) in a band but more importantly my friends cousin. The 14 year old me was convinced we'd get married. Colin friiels, still is. Colin firth is still on my freebie list.
George Michael. I was ten, and watching Threes Company was a family event in my house, so when my uncle said GM was gay I assumed that meant he was living with his two backup singer girls (remember them?) and that he had a very crotchety landlord.
Ya, I remember feeling like I was waiting for the just thE right "All Skate" announcenent before I got the nerve to get in and skate with the local talent. They all let me right in, no one pushed me down, and I've had lots of fun with them!! ALL SKATE. ALL SKATE
@Snootches +11 Rocky loves Em-i-ly! Excellent list my friend. I had a crush on Bale too but Spot was my boy. I saw your comment about Spot above and mentally high fived you. I confess I have been known to go on YouTube and play the clip of Seize The Day at a loud enough volume to drown out the sound of me singing my little newsie heart out.
I just remembered...I had a major crush on Emmanuelle Seigner in that movie Frantic. That hair, those eyes. She put me under a spell.
One of my biggest crushes ever was Paula Marshall. Actually I still have a crush on her even though I know she's married to the guy who played Leo's pal in Titanic.
And yes, The Beatles. But I can't remember in what order. I remember the day John died the way some people remember what they were doing when JFK's assasination hit the news.
Keith Partridge. I was 5 and my parents said I would squeal when he would come on the screen. Said they knew right then that they would need to keep a close eye on me when I got older. They were right.
