I don't think so, Charlie. It's just that when it comes to swearing, he's a One Man Jam.

    2. Perhaps he just saves it for when he's driving his Little Red Corvette?

Well, it's upsetting when you're on a nice drive in the Mountains, and you get cut off by Just Another Sucker in a Raspberry Beret.

What he doesn't realize is that a Lovin' Cup of coffee with no cream is Better Than You Think.

  14. I always wonder(ed), what is this guys deal? He acts like an alien on earth- the years of silence, the whole is he or isnt he married, did he or didnt he lose a newborn baby, the whole symbol thing instead of his name as a protest. Wth? Then there are his so called jokes which are really cruel ways to treat people. He never lived up to his potential as writer and perfomer after purple rain era. So i wonder, what is it? Drink? Drugs? MI?

  15. ya'll. Gett Off talking about Prince like this.

  16. I think what's happened to him is what has happened to most celebs they become isoloated & only have employees for family & friends & lovers.

  17. Good article, @Bacon! I was thinking how cool that would be, until he went all Kirk Cameron. :/

  18. A great performance right here.

Dhani Harrison, Tom Petty, Steve Winwood, Jeff Lynne, Prince and others perform "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" at the 2004 Rock Hall induction of George Harrison, with Prince going nuts on Clapton's solo.

(I never much cared for Jeff Lynne but he does a find job here too.)

    1. Very cool! There is a Scorcese-directed documentary about George Harrison that is worth watching, I think it's on HBO on demand - it has some awesome footage and the photos are out of this world.

  19. Wow Andrew! That was awesome. I had no idea how much Dhani looked like George..I loved Harrison and still like Jeff Lynne.

  20. I am 100% of the Prince era. Purple Rain came out when I was in college, we used to play it nonstop. Loved it, loved him.

Even so, I never quite understood why there is this aura of OMGPRINCEISSUCHAGENIUS around him...? He's good, yes. But a mind-blowing genius? Not really. Don't see it or get it.

  21. Ah, great post, Andrew. Loves me some George and a good George tribute.

    Bein' a hypocrite about swearing...eh. Guess it's a Sign O' the Times.

  22. @Sherry - Glad you liked it. The first time I saw Prince fall backwards into the audience I laughed out loud. He's a genius, but he's such a hot dog!

  23. @Dena - LIVING IN THE MATERIAL WORLD! Yes, it's a fabulous documentary! There is an accompanying coffee-table book that Olivia helped put together, and I adore that, too.
