Jewel And Ty Murray Split
After 16 years together, Jewel wants to move on to another rodeo and has split with her husband Ty Murray. In her statement, you know Jewel's PR team had the whole conscious uncoupling thing on their mind because they used the term "undoing ourselves." I can't wait until the next celebrity divorce to see what combination of words they use to try and match Gwyneth Paltrow. I swear these PR people go to a seminar every year and come up with the new buzz words they are going to use for a variety of issues. Jewel said that the split has been going on for some time and has been difficult, and I don't think in a tears kind of way, because she also says she only wants love and not malice. That seems to me there is some malice, and she is just saying what she is expected to say. Jewel is the one who released the statement, so the divorce thing was probably her idea. The couple have a three year old son together.

That's too bad. Sorry about that divorce bebeh too. 16 years is a long haul, though? Lady H is DEF gonna say it was Jewel's fault, you wait
Whatever happened to saying, "The sonofabitch/whore cheated on me and I want him/her to pay!"?
Buncha pansyasses these days.
G'morn! :D
Can't wait for Heidi and Spencer to announce that in an interpretive dance of the soul, they've decided to Cupid Shuffle away from each other into separate homes.
She isnt a nice person. Sometimes when I see these uncouplings references I think about the times I saw dogs trying to uncouple after having their fun, but it gets stuck inside. Welcome to my Thursday.
@kristin..,.hehehe
She was a reveal as the former A list singer grasping at a career, that was really rude and obnoxious to everyone at the radio station she was giving an interview to...
If I were Ty, I'd jump in the saddle and be outta there in 7 seconds or less.
Well, sometimes divorce is a mutual decision. Just because she released the statement doesn't mean she initiated the country version of conscious uncoupling (™Allison). I'd actually find it more likely that the toddler-faced bullrider may have, and she's covering things. Who knows, though, and let us all be glad our daily lives are not under such a microscope.
Bummer for the kidlet, though. :/
Get ready because reveals are coming
Give that girl some water already shees!
They're country. They should be somewhere untangling in my mind
Toddler faced!? Lol
So? What's so important about Jewel?
Every time I think of Jewel, I think of how Kurt Loder pointed out her inability to tell the difference between "casualty" and "casually." He really dogged her book of poetry, and she looked she wanted to kill him. Loder was right, and dipstick should have hired an editor.
@Lotta that's what I was thinking. A whole slew of em!
He has total toddler face! You want to hug him and squeeze him and pinch his cheeks and call him George!
Bieber has terrible twos face. You do not want to hug him or squeeze him, you want to stick him in the porta-crib with a binky and some cheerios until he stops acting like a two year old whose gran fed him Lucky Charms.
Jewel's letter was definitely not written by a PR person - those were certainly her words.
@S.joy - ents love gloating and show boating!
I hate it when pretentious goop starts a pretentious trend.. Damn Goopy! !
Please please please let this inspire another book of deeply personal, heartfelt poetry from Jewel. That last one was HILARIOUS!
Loder was on to something!
Of course she released the statement--she is after all the celebrity in the marriage. A press release from Ty Murray would have been met with a whole lotta "who?"
Full of piss and vinegar this morning Miss Meanie!
Truly wouldn't the world be so much better if they said it like it was?
Ugh, now she'll be singing her sorrows in a new album filled with slow, depressing, whiney songs...oh wait!
Well I guess they weren't meant for each other.
Haha - ethorne.
Imma going to guess she was the one who released the statement, because well, she's the one the general public are more familiar with. Doesn't mean anything.
16 years is a long time.
Sad on that front.
Maybe this will give her material to yodel about on her next album.
Actually, he's a 9 time world champion rodeo cowboy worth about $12MM (so the internet tells me about his wealth). I'll admit to being a fan of his but knowing next to nothing about Jewel. :-)
Have her jugs held up well?
@audrey is right, and i thought these two were forever
He seemed like a sweetie on dwts.
And there's the winning comment of the day!
I kinda thought maybe these two had it figured out and was doing well. Sad.
:^(
i like jewel...
Well thats sad. Maybe they will change their minds like gwynneth and chris did.
That's the way to handle it! Just get it out there to shut down the questions.
Hahaha these comments are funny today hahahaha
I still wanna hear the insider dirt on why Jewel isn't nice. Spill!
I rewatched the Loder interview, and as much as I like him, I still think that was a dick move. I mean, it just seemed so random and there didn't really seem to be a reason for it that *I* could see. Unless he'd had previous crappy contact with her or something? Really...still pretty much a dick move, Loder.
He was on DWTS. That's about all I know about him.
I had that book of poetry in the 90's
Used to cry over my first boyfriend and read that shit
Oh the angst!
I picked up the paper it was more bad news, more hearts being broken or people being used.
yeah I saw her statement
what a bunch of crap
I waited on the two of them a few years ago. She was VERY sweet. Drank tequila straight up, just 1 though and ate like a normal person, no egg white goose eggs like a certain other someone. He wasn't really nice. I don't know about DWTS but in person he seemed like a grumpy old man who complained because his Bud wasn't cold enough (true story).
I'm no fan of her work but she was very sweet. He wasn't an all out D**k or anything but he was def not friendly. Maybe it was just an off night? But she was apologetic for his attitude so I assumed it was normal for him/their dynamic
@TTM: Nope. I'm sure he's equally a gem LOL
And I would really appreciate it if peeps on here would stop trying to speak for me.
Wow. I was referencing the fact that you have stated on several Jewel binds that she is a terrible human being. I would never speak for you. Take care.
Fair enough. Wasn't attacking you in anyway and I didn't read it as a slight on me either. But this has happened a couple times in the last week. Sorry if that sounded harsh TTM, it wasn't intended that way
@Wigs #Winning
@wigs I concur. #winning
This is a whole lot of gossip about nothing. I read the statement, and they sound like a nice couple who genuinely care about each other but are breaking up after a whole lot of years together.
Another celebrity couple bites the dust.
@AKM
I don't think it was random at all! I think Jewel had been a piece of work, and Loder found a way to get back at her publicly. Besides, if you don't know what you are writing, then don't write it.
Ty Murray was on top of the rodeo world at least about 20 years ago, I may have known who he was before I heard of Jewel.
He's a known cheater on the rodeo circuit. And he's not very nice, but neither is she from what I understand.
Can't wait for Heidi and Spencer to announce that in an interpretive dance of the soul, they've decided to Cupid Shuffle away from each other into separate homes.
@Kristin - I don't think they could afford separate homes. Someone would have to move into a parental basement.
@Henriette - Well, I maintain that it seemed random to me. My point was that I never remembered hearing about some publicized Jewel-Kurt fight or anything, so it seemed sort of nasty to blindside her like that. (Unless, of course, she's a bitch, and I'm still curious as to why and how we know this.)
I also seem to recall that someone somewhere actually debunked the fact that she used the word incorrectly, i.e., it was used archaically to mean "casualness," or something like that, so...???
