It's A Little Pitchy

I'm pretty sure that Britney Spears would not let through someone to the next round of X Factor when she was hosting if they sounded like she did in this not yet auto tuned version of Alien. It sounds awful. I mean really bad. It is amazing what they can do in a studio to make someone sound really good. This is the opposite of really good.

  1. I hardly think she sounds much better with the autotune though.

  2. Yikes. A bit of out of tuneness never hurt Bob Dylan mind you.

  3. Don't do it Reno. Seriously. Don't.

  8. Mine's worse. Much worse. Not judging.

  9. Changed my mind. Lol. After the first half she's better, but still weak.

  10. Y'all don't want to hear me, trust!

  11. This is why I don't think she is MV she sounds HORRIBLE but she sounds a little bit like her records.

  12. My goodness... Who hates her this much? This was a cold , cold thing to do, releasing this.
    In fact, bullshit!
This is some chick at the mall. I want bonifides that this is legit Brit!

    1. It's real. William Orbit was talking about it in FB the other day. This clip leaked like two weeks ago (at least that's when I first heard it).

  14. I really don't think it's that bad. She really has a hard time with only that one verse that she consistently seems to absolutely go out of pitch on. The rest is fine. The part that goes bad is probably out of her range and she has to change registers (head/chest voice). Sometimes a song/part of a song just doesn't sit well with your voice. The music people make now relies too much on auto tune and singers have to sing out of their natural range.

Let's hear every singer without auto tune.

Before auto tune people only sang songs that suited their voice and range. This is no longer the case.

  15. Brit & her voice are not what they were, they really do just need to let her retire.

    1. +1 I feel so sad when I see pics of her. Doesn't seem to have any real joy in her. :/

  16. Just throwing this out there. At one point Britney COULD sing. This song, however, was most definitely recorded with the auto tune process happening while she was singing the lead. It's almost impossible to sing in tune when that's going on. If you remove the auto tune after the fact this is what it sounds like. If they had wanted to get a good natural lead out of her they could have. I had the raw tracks for If You Seek Amy and they were soilidly sung. They obviously wanted a robot autotune song here so she probabaly sang this like 3 times and they moved on. Not sticking up for Brit Brit here but this is dirty pool whoever released this is playing...

  17. It sounds like she's tone deaf, unless she can't hear her voice over the loud music.

It amazes me that there are actually incredible singers out there, who will never get a shot at anything. Looks trump talent in this world. If you're lucky enough to be attractive and talented, you'll win an Oscar or a Grammy.

  18. I guess this eliminates Britney as MV once and for all....

  19. Has someone spilled Chernobley in the hot tub again?
    Are we back in 2007?
Give it a rest. It's not a secret that Britney (and many many others) use Autotune. This isn't gonna blow the lid off anything. All it does is look mean for pointing and laughing at someone.
    Not very nice.

  20. I dunno. I hard time believing it Brit. For one thing she went through the Disney system and they're pretty strict about using performers who can at least carry a tune lol. To me, this sounds like a temp track to mark the melody -- because clearly whoever this is, is barely trying.

  21. I'm still sticking to Shania Twain as MV. I'm completely convinced. She totally fits, except for the American born thing. I think that was given as a clue to throw us off. JLo and Brit Brit have put out other albums since, Shania hasn't even sung a note.

    1. Doesn't MV's name have 13 letters? Or did I dream that?

  22. Ooo...Shania Twain! Good guess!! I'm now reviewing the MV story again because I think you may be onto something.

  23. My ears are bleeding.

  24. But didn't Shania Twain sing quite a bit in bars as a kid? At least that's what I remember hearing, but I'm too lazy to look it up.

    ReplyDelete
  25. It's not Shania.

Like missK said, she sang in bars and resorts for years. She actually has a very powerful voice.

  26. With Auto Tune & Photoshop.... I could be HOT!

    ReplyDelete
  27. This isn't really that bad given how songs are produced these days. Britney used to sing with vibrato, but with autotune you can't, so you lose a lot of power in your voice and it can come across as really flat. There are a few notes where she is slightly off tune, but it sounds like a weird key to me anyway.

Shania Twain doesn't fit the clue about the number of letters in her name, unless "Shania" isn't her full real name...hmmm...

    ReplyDelete
  28. I loathe autotune. If someone can't sing without it, they shouldn't sing. When I hear the autotuned crap out there, my ears feel like they're going to start bleeding.

  29. Who cares. You act like people didn't know this enty

    ReplyDelete
  30. IDK, I guess I'm weird. I still want to support the actual talented. I don't get all the plastic and fake appearance and voice altering, to me it's fraudulent and uninteresting.

  32. Not. Pushing. Play.

  33. OT: Do I remember correctly that many, many moons again, Ent agreed to reveal either MV or Coke Mom once he hit 20k followers on Twitter? Or did that deal go out the window during the days of Himmmm?

    ReplyDelete
  34. ok I've been saying this for awhile-they can do amazing amazing things in the studio-seen it first hand and its incredible

not as bad as I thought it would be-but maybe this is a track demo used to sell a song and not even her-you really can't tell by this at all

I also prefer to hear someone actually sing---have we ever really heard Rihanna do you think????? Prob not

    ReplyDelete
  35. My poor BritBrit :( and Enty has stated that he can't reveal MV until after his death, hasn't he?

    ReplyDelete
  36. If you go back and read about MV...Enty never said MV couldn't carry a tune, she just wasn't that great.

I'm still convinced it's Shania...and her now ex husband is the guy who was in on it with her.

    ReplyDelete
  37. but if it is Shania is it really such a big deal then?

    she isn't really relevant now

I always though MV was still currently relevant-no?

    ReplyDelete
  38. "Shania Twain doesn't fit the clue about the number of letters in her name, unless "Shania" isn't her full real name...hmmm..."

It isn't. It's Eilleen, with two L's. Her stepfather was native/indigenous American -- I have forgotten which tribe -- and supposedly "Shania" means "I'm on my way" in their language. (I feel like it's Cree, perhaps?)

    ReplyDelete
  39. That said, I never though MV was Shania. I've seen videos of her singing at a resort in the late '80s. She sounded wonderful and it was clearly live.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Ladies and gentlemen, MV. Thenk yew.

    ReplyDelete
  41. @crila - I seem to remember that Enty mentioned that there are 13 letters in MV's name. And that MV's debut (?) album was released in 2001. The only two that seem to fit these criteria are JLo and Brit..

    ReplyDelete
  42. I still think it's Shania. I'm convinced...also, a lot of the bloggers were saying (at the time) that Enty likes to throw dates off and that they didn't think it was the early millennium, so people don't guess it right away. Everyone was guessing it was really the early 90's.

No one has to agree with me...I just think it's her.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Enty can't reveal MV because it is made up. Did anyone watch 20 feet from Stardom? Darlene Love tells how almost the same thing happened to her. Enty just tweaked the details for this blind.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Well I guess I'm late Britney and her team took the video down...can't find it nowhere!!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. agree with Dude

at one point she def could sing and sing live-- and she did have a lot of vibrato in her voice as a child

Disney has a lot to choose from-I'm sure she was at least a moderately talented singer for them to work with her

    ReplyDelete
  46. @crila - of course you can have your own opinion. Never said that..

    ReplyDelete
  47. Britney has a terrible voice and this is obviously her. Xtina was the singer. Britney was the dancer.

I'm not so sure this was intended to hurt Britney as much as it was aimed at the people who keep working her like a mule. She's not well and should have retired to a quiet life years ago. X Factor was a nightmare for her. Vegas is probably a nightmare for her too.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Why is this surprising?

She NEVER had a good voice. It was her youth and the sex she sold that worked. I'm still flummoxed as to why she got the Vegas gig, given her horrendously bad performance on the 2007 VMAs, and the ensuing downward spiral.

She is now, and has been since her breakdown over 6 years ago, just a schill and a means to make money.

(And i totally believe the big CDAN rumor, thus the breakdown, no permanence in the relationship department, i.e. paid "handlers"/boyfriends)

I wish her the best and would hope she, at some point, takes back her life and decides to retire and live peacefully, and perhaps, anonymously.

  49. No one said that was the final take of Alien in the studio....she can sing live, she did it on SNL ..is she Mariah Carey? No but she never claimed to be. I think post her metldown she has really revived her career. I saw her in Vegas and on a wed, the place was packed and it was a great show.

Oh P.S. if you are calling people out- she never hosted X-factor she was a judge, got 15 million for it ...cashed the check and said bai.
