DeleteMorning !!! OMG same annoying thing in my town. I hate it. Old town was twice a week.
@TTM
Morning Doll. I would totally do a social over at book club in the am.
@Steamy
Morning.
Morning AJ
Deleteuh... Eli Wallach has died. That mens something this means shit asshole
ReplyDeleteI'm sure his family would disagree @Sandy
DeleteMaybe the fact that a young man, who had his whole life to look forward to, died is a tragedy and deserves to be mentioned.
DeleteA 98 year old actor who had achieved everything he could, and was very successful and loved, isn't such a tragedy. It's the natural order of things.
If you can't muster some sympathy for this young man there is something wrong.
I hope he rests in peace.
Its just U- amen!
DeleteWho's Eli W Sandy ?
ReplyDeleteHello all.
Poor guy, so young!
ReplyDeleteGood morning / day all
Don't worry sandy, Enty is sure to post Eli next or soon after, making this
ReplyDeleteC DaN In Memorium:

Morning everyone!
Morning Steamy!
DeleteMorning TTM, Have an hour + before working the crappiest week ever scheduled...
DeleteWeird or long hours Steamy? Or both?
DeleteTTM, BOTH! Cook some, supervise some, wait some and Have my hours cut because I'm making more per hour...
DeleteGross, Steamy! Thatz not okay
DeleteYou don't know who Eli Wallach is, Violet?? Only one of the most prolific actors out there: Google!
ReplyDeleteIf I don't know without googling. There's no hope for me is there?
ReplyDeletePretty much, no.
DeleteWhere's the winky face?
DeleteThink Old School Actor, Violet...
DeleteThe Good, The Bad, and The Ugly?
Stage actor who did the Western Explosion in the Sixties/ Seventies...
The Magnificent Seven..
Thanks Steamy I DID just google. Still don't recognise. But there you go.
DeleteSo sorry, I don't make the rules, Gayeld does. I'm in enforcement. Non-winky face
DeleteHey guys. I've been toying with an idea: this is the post we all kinda greet on, being the first and all, but some of us are up sooner due to time zone differences and / or small bladders, what would you think about a Bookie Wook morning post? Also because this is where we get trolled periodically for alls the OT. Just an idea, if it's stupid I won't even worry about it.
ReplyDeleteI'll bring Bloody Mary's.
DeleteWherever, whenever. I'm easy (it's been said).
DeleteI'll bring the Ceasars! Any news on job front, dirty bird? MADLD?
DeleteWinky face, Violet?
DeleteNo.
DeleteHammer! Morning!
DeleteUh, MADLD?
DeleteMarried Asian Dread Locked Dude. Sorry, forgot the Hot, so it should be HMADLD
DeleteOMFG!! Steamiest (that's what my phone puts in, so even it knows your hot) that was awesome! Morning to you too!!
DeleteI gotta find out how y'all do that.
I'm glad to hear that, Violet. Holding out is for suckers
DeleteOhhh, I haven't had enough coffee yet. I actually called my phone carrier and have had his # blocked. That's why my phone died on Sunday night. My battery said phuck this $hit after text 75+.
DeleteWho knew hot guys could be bunny boilers?
75 texts from dude?? Please tell me you left the mattress in the alley, right?? No face to face?
DeleteI love the idea of a book club morning post. Sounds good to me.
DeleteYay good morning/afternoon everyone.
DeleteGood morning me and TNC!
DeleteI found a couple of bottles of Bloody Mary mix in the fridge when I moved in. I can bring em!
DeleteYay Cocoa! On that note, Steamy, can you email me?
DeleteOkay! I asked Steamy if she would mind doing the "good morning" post over on Bookie Wook, she's already posted!
Deletewww.webebookclubbin.blogspot.com
More than likely Enty didn't know Eli Wallach passed because it wasn't on TMZ, this was.
ReplyDeleteI liked Caleb on Survivor. He was with that horrid little prick Colton. I seriously wanted to throw that shit in the fire or drown him.
On that note, morning everyone:)
Morning, Hammer!
DeleteHuh, shows I didn't watch, I figured Colton was an unfortunately named female. I didn't even catch the single e on fiance (can't do the ~ over the e, ain't gonna try.) Obviously, time for my second energy drink of the morning.
DeleteIm sure his family thinks so too @FSP. But this is an entertainment site and Eli Wallach was one of the greatest CHARACTER actors of all-time and deserves recognition over somebody who nobody ever heard of.
ReplyDeleteViolet he's got so many credits there are too many to list--hundreds if not thousand stage, screen and televsion. He was still working on things a few years ago even in his 90s. He was married to Anne Jackson and they usually worked together on projects.
ReplyDeleteOh good morning/afternoon/evening everyone! :))

ReplyDelete+1, @FSP! Jesus, Sandy, did someone piss in your Cornflakes this morning? How about you give us a rating system every time someone dies so we can know on a scale of 1-10 how much respect we should give to the deceased?
ReplyDelete@ Karen, heheheh
Deletenothing like waking up to a sad story. R.I.P. @Violet for a more recent reference on Eli Wallach, "THE HOLIDAY"! He played the old Hollywood screenwriter(?)/neighbor who Kate Winslet & Jack Black befriends.
ReplyDeleteRolo. I watched that just the other night!
DeleteEli Wallach played the cute old man in The Holiday. Kate Winslet's character helps him out. RIP.
ReplyDeleteKaren this guys a 1 Eli's at least a 9.
ReplyDeleteOoh. Grumpy today Sandy? That's whats trotted out to me whenever I disagree.
Delete@sandybrook, stay classy.
ReplyDeleteSandy's a 1, Karen's a 9.
DeleteSandybrook: asshole confirmed.
DeleteLOL @ FSP, Karen and Ray!!!
Deletehe's practically the best part(& a large part) of that movie..
ReplyDeleteViolet--Eli Wallach grew up in my neighborhood way before me obviously and he is one of the most famous alumni of my High School (and there are many, mny including Brbra Streisand). HJe had other contributiuons to show business besides acting in it--he founded The Actor's Studio too.
ReplyDeleteWell, I kinda get where sandy was going with that: important actor with decades long history of quality and significant work, but rather enty posts someone from a reality show that not too many people know of. The old:who died when someone else died that nobody noticed a la Princess Di and Mother Theresa. HOWEVER, once you call a 26-year-old dead man a piece of shite, anything you say after is gonna be wrong.
ReplyDeleteHeya Hommies!
ReplyDeleteKarens a 10
ReplyDeleteI dn't kno who either guy is.
ReplyDeleteDeath is sad y'all.
FSP is lookin' good as usual.
Gracias@warecat
DeleteMorning Orvilla and WareCat!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm with FSP and Karen on this one.
ReplyDeleteEli rocked.
Just got up, morning guys.
ReplyDeleteMorning, Reno
DeletePeople seem to safely be grumbling enough about other stuff so as not to trifle with OT, so let me say Good day all!
ReplyDeleteAlso that is awful. Trains still derail? That's gotta be a one in a million way to go anymore. Poor guy.
ReplyDeleteMorning Reno, TnC and anybody else who posts after this..: D
ReplyDeleteRIP.
ReplyDelete.
jinx @writergirl!! -@Violet,thats a weird coincidence!.cute movie..We've been getting hit with a TON of Holiday movies these past 2 weeks. Is it a 6 month thing or something? Holiday Inn, Elf, The Grinch(jim carreyversion),The Family Man..its a bit odd.
ReplyDeleteBOOM Meaningless meeting over. Howdy All
ReplyDeleteHey Charlie!
DeleteDamn, so young. RIP
ReplyDeleteI loved that character Eli Wallach played in the Holiday! RIP
ReplyDeleteAnd I remember this Survivor contestant.... His fiance (on the show) was waaaaay too over-the-top emotional. Was glad to see him take himself out. But Caleb, we liked him. Rooted for him to get to final 3. It's sad that he's died and in a tragic way. RIP
So very sad. He was one of the most incredibly likable characters on that show.. I couldn't understand why he was w/that d-bag BF of his.
ReplyDeleteOh, my. 26? Tragically young. Very sad. Rest in peace.

ReplyDeleteMorning Folks to anyone I missed. Still feeling off today. Hope you're having a better day than me.
ReplyDelete"Survivor contestant dies"
ReplyDeleteIrony? Somewhere the ghouls at the network extinguished his torch
Wow...only 26??? This is so sad.
ReplyDeleteCondolences to his family.
He was a sweetie. Poor kid.
ReplyDeleteWell I don't watch survivor, so I don't know who this guy is. And I googled Eli, And I have literally not watched anything he has been in, so I don't know him either.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, a 26 year old dying in an accidental death is (imo) far more tragic than a 98 year old dying of old are surrounded by loved ones.
@It's just U, very well said.
ReplyDeleteVery sad. I didn't watch the show. Word around the Ham is that he was a super nice guy. :-(
ReplyDeleteI understand what Sandy is saying. The death of a particular person may not be important to some people, but is to others, and it can be infuriating when it isn't acknowledged or is quickly forgotten about. People die just as tragically as Caleb daily, and they don't get even a blurb about their lives or accomplishments, even when they've done things far more noteworthy than appear on a reality TV show.
ReplyDeleteAnd for the recored, nobody deserves to die, be they two or two hundred. 98 may seem "old enough" to some, but I'm sure it's no less painful for Eli's loved ones than it is for Caleb's. If we're gonna go as far as to say that the death of an elderly person isn't a big deal, then we could say that for everyone because the truth is we all die, but we just don't know when it will happen
This is pretty sad. Caleb was a very sweet, humble guy. His fiance, Colton was a huge drama queen, but Caleb was liked by pretty much everyone.
ReplyDeleteHe was very young to die, they were going to get married this year, I think.
What a way to go. I hope he was on his way home after having a very fun trip rather than just starting his adventure. I read on another site that he was between cars as the train derailed and was crushed by the cars. Think of the split second you're between cars as you open those heavy doors and step quickly to the next car.
