Sonja Morgan Forced To Sell St. Tropez House
Sonja Morgan does a great job pretending she still has lots of money. I especially get a kick out of all the assistants she has that make her seem like she has a ton of money and a ton of things she does. Lets face it though. She is broke. She broke the first rule of Hollywood which is to use your own money to try and make a movie. Now she is bankrupt and has been forced to sell her St. Tropez house for a little under $6M. That will buy her some time but, I don't know how long she can hold on to her NYC home before that goes bye bye too. The good news for Sonja is that if she can manage to stay on RHNY she can keep pulling in $500K a year so she should sell her NYC house and find something smaller or she could always move in with Aviva's dad who would probably love to bring in a third. If only she could get her toaster oven line really going. If you are going to come up with an idea of a product to sell, I'm not sure how many people would come up with the idea of selling toaster ovens.
I don't know who this is but she sure looks proud of her EZ-Bake Oven.
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame. Life is hard sometimes.
ReplyDeleteOh Sonja. Rich people problems
ReplyDeleteWho's Sonja Morgan?
ReplyDeleteWell, she has the toaster oven box made so she's like 20% of the way there.
ReplyDeleteI loooooooove Sonja P Morgan of the Tremont Morgans. This breaks my heart. And I heard she's renting out the townhouse :(
ReplyDeleteIm sure as classy as the real housewives are that movie was well-written well-produced and directed and drew major stars to it.
ReplyDeleteBetch even Steven Spielberg doesnt finance his own movies thats why bankers have jobs.
(but I wish to Gawd I could sell a home for millions and still be broke.)
I can cook a gourmet meal for 4 in a toaster oven. They're awesome. I'm the McGuyver of toaster ovens.

ReplyDeleteI have that Kitchen Aid oven on my countertop it's good!
ReplyDeleteSandy. I have a kitchen aid mixer. It is my pride and joy. Comes way above any of the V jrs and Mr V in my affections.
DeleteI don't want to ever be placed in the position where I would need to choose between my child and my Kitchen Aid mixer, Violet.
DeleteMy kitchen aid mixer does exactly what I ask it to Charlie. The rest of them roll their eyes in exasperation when I ask them to do something. There is no choice to be made.
DeleteI so want a Kitchen Aide mixer you guys. I had to make a French Silk pie by HAND a few weeks ago! 15 minutes with a hand mixer. Waaahhhh.
DeleteTry dealdash.com. or ebay
DeleteI'm holding out for a Vitamix.
DeleteI want a Vitamix too !!! With my crohns I'd really like to trying juicing since there are a lot of days that just do liquids like soups or smoothies. It gives my poor gut a rest when I do.
DeleteThat is an interesting apron that she's wearing. Maybe I should get one for when I'm baking bread?
ReplyDeletePics or it didn't happen, Charlie!
DeleteAs it happens, Charlie, I'm sewing a similar apron and could make one for you next. :)
DeleteLowKey, funny... I've heard that phrase used several times recently!
DeleteMost excellent, Cocoa. My email is in my profile. It just so happens that I possess enough sangfroid to carry off wearing that with aplomb. It's a gift.
What the bollocks is a toaster oven? And why would I want one?
ReplyDeleteI kinda love her but that was one seriously bad decision in her part....sign me up for two Sonja Morgan Toaster Oven Cook Books!
ReplyDeleteViolet its an oven that doesn't produce as much heat or expend as much energy as a conventional oven. You can toast bake warm food in it. For me in Florida it's great for this time of year.
ReplyDeleteWho?
ReplyDeleteWhy is she dressed like the twee Nadia G?
Who?

Kitchen id makes good products I think my oven cost $100. Worth every penny too.
ReplyDeleteWho???
ReplyDelete@Violet, a toaster oven is the bomb! You can make toast in it, of course, but it has a gazillion other uses. Reheating, fast broiling, toasting pre-buttered garlic bread without starting a fire. It's like a tiny table-top oven. And the only other appliance I'd cart out in case of fire after my KitchenAid mixer.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip re: Kitchenaid Toaster. I lurves my Kitchenaid products. The ice cream attachment for the mac daddy mixer is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI am so in the market for a new toaster oven. Mine is pushing 11 years old.
I use mine all the time to toast bread, bagels, frozen waffles and pretzels (don't judge me. I have a 3-year-old eating machine. If he wants an Eggo, an Eggo he shall have.)
I don't watch RHNY, but when I see the ads for it they all seem like a bunch of biyatches. I am so loving Ladies of London. That show is the shiz.
@Susan, I got mine at Costco. It's the bee's knees and I think I paid around $100.
DeleteAnd no judgement on the waffles, I make homemade waffles and freeze them - SO likes them toasted but other people who haven't the good taste to appreciate toasted waffles soggify them in the microwave. SO says there are some days when only a toasted waffle egg sandwich will do. (I call that the day after tequila.)
@7 interesting way to have waffles on the ready. Can you post your recipe and freezing method? ? Freezer bags or Tupper ware etc..
DeleteI love how this has devolved into a thread about KitchenAjd and toaster ovens. Shows how interesting the actual topic is.
ReplyDelete@Violet-just don't put something flammable on top of it, like oh maybe a loaf of bread in the bag. Yeah, did I mention I'm a natural blonde?
ReplyDeleteI brought my dad pasta home from work once and it was lined in aluminum foil and I said put it in another container before you heat it in microwave. He said why. I said the foil is flammable you'll catch the microwave in fire. He said I knew nothing. The next morning he put it in mw just like I brought it home and the mw starting popping and flaming. He said oh I think you were right about that. He was born in the 30s. He was around when they invented mw and I am telling him fire safety in a kitchen? ??
DeleteSugarbread, did he say "Thank God for me!" after putting out the fire in the "science oven"?
DeleteNo but his hair was as high as heaven! !
DeleteI always think she looks like Paris Hilton in 15yrs.
ReplyDeleteIs she related to Jason Quartermaine Morgan ?
ReplyDeleteShe married 90 year old banker heir jp. Morgan.
DeleteMeh. People couldn't imagine the fortune to be made from a pressed hot plate until George Foreman started grilling.
ReplyDeleteI don't care for my toaster oven, but the hubby wants what he wants. It's just as easy for me to reheat in the microwave and toast in the oven. It rarely gets hot enough here for me to care about turning the oven on.
Now take away my coffee maker? It's on, bitches.
I have considered buying a waffle iron time and time again. But I feel like the number of times I would actually make waffles does not justify the iron. I have SO many one-off kitchen gadgets: fondue pot, blowtorch, crepe pan, madeleine tins, popcorn maker (fresh popcorn is DIVINE), ice cream maker, and I just inherited the family pizzelle iron (it is magical and seriously makes the best pizelles ever). Anywho, I just can't comprehend another gadget that I use like five times a year. Guess my fellas will have to stick with my pancakes and french toast. Sidenote: Long griddles make breakfast cooking so much easier.
ReplyDeleteI love my Kitchenaid mixers too (do NOT get the commercial grade one, no bueno) but I covet the Cuisinart ones. They have a timer! And the paddle moves away from the edge! I know, ooooooooohhhh
ReplyDelete@TTM
DeleteI have the extra large KitchenAid mixer that was moms. My dad have it to me after she passed away.
I love the thing but it's so large I need to make double batches of everything when I use it or it doesn't work right.
Sigh.
I will say it does all right with pizza dough, but even a double batch of cookies doesn't work all that well, it just doesn't scrape the bottom of the bowl. And we can't leave the butter behind!
Delete@TTM
DeleteExactly. I find I have to take the bowl off and mix up the bottom and than put it back on the stand to do it's thing.
That said. It works perfectly when I do bread dough.
I'm not gonna lie, TTM. I did go "Oooooooooo" when I read about the paddle moving away from the edge. HA
DeleteRight, Charlie??
DeleteAJ, most of the time I can't be bothered with the big one, but I do have a cheese bread recipe that I use a machine for.
I'm so tempted to ask for the normal size one but I have the KitchenAid hand mixer.
DeleteThat said the behemoth mostly just sits on display.
I have the regular one that I had been planning to get rid of (I killed it making that cheese bread) but I had to bring it out of retirement when I realised that the biggun wasn't gonna do what I wanted it to. It still works, just I have to knock the pin holding the head on in every once in a while.
DeleteDoes Enty watch all the RH shows, don't know who any of these people are, I just laugh when it comes out the they are all really broke ass con men or slum lords.
ReplyDeleteDon't know who she is, but my mom loves her toaster oven & her laundry drying rack, but she would rather spend her money on a well known name brand than some hustling reality star infomercial.
ReplyDeleteShe is crazy. I like Aviva and her pervy dad this season lol.
ReplyDeleteAviva is oddly proud of daddy sexual abilities. Non??
DeleteLike Tori Spelling's mother, I don't understand why that tightwad ex just won't give her some money for her and their child so she doesn't have to humiliate them all on reality tv.
ReplyDeleteSusan the Opster was given the commercial waffle maker you flip once the batter is in. We keep that at Blanc Debris as there simply isn't enough room at the apt and we're there weekends anyway. It's the bomb but honestly I think it could be the recipe too. I hear you on a one use item. You could probably squeeze a smaller one into your kitchen arsenal. Lace cookies? See two uses.
ReplyDeleteI have two waffle makers, one commercial flipping one and one I actually use. The kids love them, though, so I stick it on top of a cabinet when not in use, no counter space used.
DeleteI love kitchen appliance threads!! And I am almost able to drink some of the coffee I made 2 and a half hours ago! Yay!
AJ, you made me laugh with the Jason Quartmaine reference.
ReplyDelete@Charis :-)
DeleteI don't watch reality TV so when I saw Morgan well .... Ya know.
My toaster oven changed my life. I might use it even more than my micro. She never did finish the cookbook, did she? Damn.
ReplyDeleteUh, back to her...I can never decide if I like her or not. She's pretty real, I think, and not really a fake bitch like a lot of those RHONYC turds -- hello, Jill Zarin! -- but she's also a hot mess. Come to think of it, being a hot mess isn't always a pejorative, though. Heh.
You only finance your own movie if you can afford to lose that money and some can. If you finance it yourself you don't artistic interference and if you hit it big you keep all the money but as well all know rare is the indie that does killer box office because don't have the budget for big name actors/actresses or more importantly the lead up PR. But every once in a while a Blair Witch Project type film succeeds.
ReplyDeleteRamona and LuAnn make 500k per season but they have been there since the beginning. I don't think that's what Sonja makes.
ReplyDeleteI think radar online said 475k.
DeleteLast year Ramona and luann were getting 60 put had to come back for less and luann got downgraded to part time.
I Love Lady Morgan!! She is so wacky and she owns it!! I am so curious about why she is scraping by if her hubby has so much $$$$? Something seems off to me.
ReplyDeleteShe got like 11 million and some houses in the divorce but she lives beyond her means.
Delete@Violet That's funny, I just told my Dad last night that I want a Kitchen Aid Mixer for Christmas this year. I do so much cooking it's insane. For Fathers Day I made a standing rib roast, sour cream and chive mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole and homemade yeast rolls. It was just me, my Dad, my Brother and his youngest daughter. So we're still eating leftovers lol Dad said as long as I keep cooking like I normally do, he'll go out and get me one this weekend.
ReplyDeleteToaster ovens rock! I cook almost everything in there -- I've even wrapped up salmon in some foil and threw it in. I never use the main oven anymore.
ReplyDeleteAJ - This is a good time to buy a juicer. Stores are now carrying several different models, as opposed to one choice that costs $400.
The only thing that can save her is a 70-90 year old rich guy. She may like to play the cougar and chase boytoys but she knows where the money is and no guy under 60 is even going to look at her except for a quick bang or chance to get on tv- no real money guys.
