Not so sure that's a stroller as much as a push cart for tired little feet while mom and dad make the rounds. Beats pulling them in a wagon :)

DeleteI don't comment much but I have to say that nothing ticks me off more that seeing a parent/parents with kids over 4 years of age in a FUCKING STROLLER! I don't have kids, but I was a nanny in NYC for 6 years.

DeleteFor the stroller talk, my kids would never let me put them in a stroller anymore, and the oldest is still younger than either of those kids, but as a parent I understand wanting to put them in one. Or that cage. Then you know where they are! And you don't have to stop for quite as many ant-killings and the like.

Adam those kids are too big for a stroller, stop being lazy.
ReplyDeleteIt's easier to push them than drag or chase them. This from the woman with an 11 and 9 year old in the shopping cart at Wal Mart last weekend. But in my defense when they were little I kicked them out of the stroller to make room for a big box of Carlos Santana boots.
ReplyDeleteAgree! When my kids were tired they would sleep anywhere! They didn't care if they were in a cart full of groceries or a wagon! It didn't bother me as long as they were comfortable... Way better than crying. At the end of a long day I wouldn't mind someone pushing me around:)

ReplyDeleteI have an 8 and a 4 yr old and they run away from the sight of a stroller, but they know really well to stay near by, and the 8 yr old learns to be a bit more responsible and keep an eye the smaller one too.
ReplyDeleteI guess I care about the importance if communicating with kids and making sure they understand the importance of safety and being close by me.
I can see the stroller/pushcart as a safety measure if you are walking with more than two children, but this is just two.
I saw one time a guy try to snatch the smallest child from a large family (at a crowded amusement park) because the parents were too busy with the others, there were a total of 4 or 5 kids and just the mom and dad. It was pretty scary to witness. Dad reacted quickly fortunately.
Sugar, et al...clue #3, I do NOT have black or red hair.

DeleteAs a typically late in the day reader, that's also why I happily read through the mobile site threads so I can participate almost like it's in real time.
In conclusion: you so look like Kate Beckinsale there.
I agree they are way too old but consider this. Kids in LA don't walk. They are walking around a city and can't deal with it. Maybe there's even no nanny so the parents can't handle it. Kids in NYC tend to be in strollers longer than the burbs b/c of the distances. A 4 yr old in Manhattan might be used to a stroller whereas my 4 yr old would never. But then again a yr or 2 later the NYC kids will be on a scooter. Sandler's kids are embarrassingly old regardless of geography.

I don't understand why Bear Blue isn't riding on his dad's shoulders rather than in that easily collapsible basket.

ReplyDeleteToo bad this has been the worst week of my live, my father in law was hospitalized on Sunday evening after being ill for some time and was diagnosed with leukemia.
Our lives were turned upside down in a matter of hours :(

And thank you all for the comments, my skin is far from perfect, that is just the camera on my phone (no effect, it's just that bad). I wear blush and some compact powder on my nose and forehead but I've learned to live with my freckles and dark spots.
ReplyDeleteThe hairdo was something different that I tried, although my husband said that he wouldn't go out with me like that and someone at work said that I was missing a pineapple in my head, but I loved getting out of my comfort zone.

ReplyDeleteI've been through this with a family member - my heart goes out to you. In times of family grief though you do everything you can, but always want to do more because no matter what you do you can't fix it. But being there and making life serene in the background is worth a whole lot. I'm sure you're doing everything humanly possible. It's hard for everyone - stay strong!
