By the time that summer actually arrives at the end of June, it seems a little late. Same with winter. By December 21, you are already freezing if you live somewhere cold.
Ive been in Summer since April. Dont need any winter either. But not looking forward to the daily 105 degree heat indexes that will be here thru mid-September.
It's a whole 68 here today. We are moaning as only the British can do about how it's too warm. But already conversation is moving towards what thd weather will be like tomorrow and Friday.
Okay so it's 17degC where I am now and 19 in London ... But it's night here and day there. If only I'd looked an hour or two ago, I could have lolled about them coinciding XD
I have too many loved ones in London for that not to be funny.
it's positively sweltering down south. i never thought it could get so hot where not even a refreshing iced fruit tea with mint and a splash of old grandad couldn't calm the beads of sweat running down my neck into my dirty pillows.
why enty do you mind if i come and sit a spell by your saltwater pool?
I find it easier to get comfortable in the winter as I can always add layers. In the summer, you can only remove so many layers before the neighbors start complaining.
We don't have seasons in San Francisco unless you count the seasons by fog and wind. It's been obnoxiously windy here. Now actually 77 in SF and 81 at my apt. Thankfully no snow.
Heading home to NC next a week from Sunday and looking forward to some humidity. (I know, weird.)
We had a 113 day already, but today isn't bad. We live in the pool and vacation at the beach. The AC is cranking. It's tough though when I visit a friend in San Diego who doesn't have AC. The wind has been brutal this year. I hope those windmills made lots of green energy.
Not here this year. It's been in the 90's for over a week. I love it.
ReplyDeleteSpeak for yourself, it has been insufferably hot here since April/May.
ReplyDeleteNaw. Doesn't get warm around here until August.
ReplyDeleteIs there an official Song of the Summer yet?
ReplyDeleteWe need another Call Me Maybe and Blurred Lines in our lives, don't we?
I thought my car was going to combust today it was that warm to drive and I'm based in the north west of England-usually pretty grim up here!

ReplyDeleteOh, Violet, it's 20 in Sydney and we're complaining about the cold.
Delete@Jessie & Violet - I like it when it's the same temperature in Sydney and London; we complain of the child and for them it's balmy summertime.
DeleteDissing the English weather never gets old to Australians, it seems.
Haha, it doesn't. Although the English love to tell us "Oh, aye, this i'nt cold!"
DeleteBut they're barmy, @Jessie ;)

Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwoods new duet might qualify as a song of summer if it moves to the Pop chart.
ReplyDeleteuuuummmmm...
ReplyDeletethis thread deserves my fondest:
((crickets))
It's been positively summer like in NJ lately too. Another 90+ day today.
ReplyDeleteso, now we are talking about the weather?
ReplyDeleteToday is another 90 degree day, 100% humidity (or so it feels). I prefer it to the single digit days back in the winter, though.

WHAT is old grandad?
DeleteMy furnace was still kicking in at night, several days ago. I'm not greedy; just want it to get above 70.
ReplyDeleteWe had 108 about a week and a half ago, you can have it.
DeleteWhere is this fictional world you speak of?
DeleteSugar, judging by the number of times they play it, I think it is 'Turn Down For What'
ReplyDeleteWell, those Kitties sure seem to groove to it so count me in!
Delete@Sass That's what I was gonna say!
ReplyDeleteWhat is this thing you call "winter"?
ReplyDeleteSouth Florida = eternal summer.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the Enties. I cannot stand hot, sticky weather. It just started getting ridiculously humid this week.
ReplyDeleteIts true. The weather does not generally sync with your internal calendar. Weird, eh?
ReplyDeleteHi everyone!
ReplyDeleteI miss my Gweeds and I've lost count. 35? 34 days? I hope he's all right

ReplyDeleteHere in the frozen north it's a lovely 21c. Nights are still around 10, though. :(
ReplyDeleteAnd I keep having nightmares about snow.
ReplyDeleteIt was a long friggen winter this year.

There's no spring or fall here. It went from freezing to blistering in a 2 week period.
ReplyDelete@Sherry Oh, enjoy when you come! Wish we were closer to have a visit!
ReplyDeleteIt's a bit warm down here. Time to head into the Great White North. Already pulled out the loonies and toonies.

ReplyDeleteI've lived in se florida for the last 10 years, so the only time I know the season has changed when the stores change their decorations.
ReplyDelete113? Yikes! Anything over 25 (77) can kiss my arse!
ReplyDeleteSummer doesn't start here until July 5th. I'm still wearing a coat on some days
ReplyDeleteIt was warm for two weeks in May, but lately I've had to close all my windows. :(
