    2. Yes! It's so much fun! Mostly we just drink and talk shite, though, and we swear not all of it is about you, Enty!

Which reminds me, last day to vote for the June 29 book meet!

Yeah JSierra takes her dislikes Very seriously. And GoT has given her too many ideas of how to deal with her enemies...

  9. read the next GoT book to get ready for next season; not looking too good for True Blood- hate to see it go but the writers drove it straight into a ditch- no where left to go.

    1. I was really pissed we didn't get to see the alcide and sookie hook up. We have to watch them with everyone else on the show, but what a cruel joke they never show that sex scene. Eff you true blood.

  10. I'm curious as to how they will end True Blood. Also Sons of Anarchy is coming up on its last season as well:(

The leftovers looks like it could be interesting, aside from Theroux. I'm counting down the days until The Strain premiers, Del Toro is one of my favorites. So to see him bring something to the small screen is like Christmas for me.

  11. Watch "Arab Labor" on LinkTV! It's an Israeli show, in Hebrew and Arabic, but with English subtitles. Seriously, it's my favorite show on tv right now.

  12. Netflix! I love to discover shows and binge watch.

I've liked Justin Theroux ever since Mulholannd Drive. I'm going to check out his show.

  14. Leftovers new series for HBO looks interesting.

Penny Dreadful so far it's been pretty good.

The Strain, I read the book it's great just hope the mini-series is as good as the book.

    1. What little bit they have put out seems to be following close to the books. I read reviews stating it is quite graphic and intense, really pushing the limit since its not on a premium cable network.

  15. Read the books! Much better than the actual show.

  16. Watch something that actually has a story that achieves something and arrives somewhere, instead of just getting an audience to spin its wheels on characters who are only going to die pointlessly?

  17. Been DVRing Penny Dreadful, so we'll start on that now. April is too far away. :(

  18. Leftovers previews are intriguing me.

  19. I miss The Walking Dead waaaayyy more than a normal human being should. I'm a Momma of a VERY active toddler and I need my show back to unwind!

  20. Penny Dreadful has lived up to half of it's name- the last half. Usually like HBO and showtime series but this one is not good imo.

  22. JAS, that's life, people die pointlessly. Lots of the characters were loved, some were hated, they brought something to the show/books, and they died. The deaths keep the stories going. Ned had to die to make the storyline for the rest of the books.

  23. It was a good finale, but now I have to wait a whole year before all my favorite shows come back. I don't know if I like "Orange is the New Black" being released at once. I binge-watched that in 2 days. "Walking Dead" will be back sooner, right?

  24. Pip: Have you noticed that they don't write book series or make TV series about your life, my life, or anybody else you know's life? You know why?

Because lives aren't stories. They're just series of events that start and end for no reason. Stories exist precisely to provide narratives with a structure.

Mark Twain put it best when he was tearing apart the works of James Fennimore Cooper. The first law of writing is that a story must achieve something and arrive somewhere. Game of Thrones never has, and has made its intentions sickeningly clear, never will done either.

You may have nothing better to do with your time than spin your wheels watching nothing happen but people dying pointlessly, but I can better spend my time and attention reading comic books.

    1. Jas, i used to be a stckler for structure and reasonable beginnings and endings too. But it is fun, and relaxing to just free fall in some fiction, like GOT. there is a point, about a new king before winter sets in. Idk, once i let go my restrictions, I enjoy it.

    2. JAS, are you saying it's the

      worst

      show

      ever

      ?

  25. Watch Outlander on Starz beginning 08/09/2014

  26. I'll cross my fingers and hope for Sookie's tits. If we don't get a worthy farewell from her cans and buttocks this season, I'm dumping HBO and gonna start watching Showtime shows, after the lights go out on Nucky Thompson.

I'm sick of this bait & switch bullshit outta HBO. Did they move the Sopranos to Boise in season 4? Fuck no, no one would have watched. BUT, they decide to cut the nudity in GOT by like 90%? Fuck you HBO. Get yer shit together or get bent.

  27. That means we stay later at Blanc Debris. Weather is good this time of year and the ride home will be cooler.

And yes the dearth of T&A has upset the Opster but he's too invested in the story line and characters now.

  28. @Sherry: After 7 posted that Khaleesi got a no nudity clause, I just went to the Wiki of Fire and Ice and read up on what is going to happen. Aint nobody got time for books.

  29. I just got through watching the GoT finale, and all I'm gonna say is I'm glad there wasn't anything in arms reach I could throw at the damn TV.

    I felt the same Hammer.

I usually think the special effects are fine. But that skeleton scene made me feel like I was watching Evil Dead 3.

    1. I think I scared the dog that was sitting in my lap, I nearly launched the poor thing across the room when I went off on an expletive filled tirade. The person beside me was like "I take it that didn't happen in the book huh?"

    2. The skeleton reminded me of old school hbo Tales of the Crypt. I grew up on those.

  31. I'm glad they elevated GoT to something more than elaborate cheesy medieval porn. For the fans of that, you still have the option to go commando at your nearest and next community jousting event

  32. Unfortunately, as I write this, it looks like a new "reality war show" set in the wonderful Middle East either called "Prelude to Armeggedon" or "Armeggedon - it's too late" is going to be occupying every TV....
