Lindsay Lohan Gets To Stay In London Longer

Somehow Lindsay Lohan talked her way into a stage production of David Mamet's Speed The Plow in London. The dates have been announced and Lindsay will be required to be there for eight shows a week. The producers will be lucky if she shows up for half of them and half of those she will probably be a mess. Count on one or two mediocre performances a week for your money. The play starts its run on September 24 and runs through November 30. I can already see her making excuses for the last week of the show because of American Thanksgiving. The week of Halloween is probably a no go. She will probably decide she is a huge fan of Columbus and ask for a week off to celebrate him in October and of course she will need to honor veterans by taking the week of Veteran's/Remembrance Day off to honor the troops. Combined with her sick days and some vacation and her commitments elsewhere, the only day she will probably show up is the first day if rehearsal and the press day set for October 2nd. Other than that your guess is as good as mine as to the days she will actually be on stage. Lindsay is in great company when it comes to displaying her acting talents because Madonna was the first to play the role of Karen.

  8. How big is the acting role? If she is just doing a glorified walk on then risk is mitigated. I wonder if one of her boyfriends is financing the play?

  9. Obviously the producers don't get OWN

  16. I wish I could be as lousy at my job as she is at hers and still get paid.

  17. She's has a small but important part.Plays start at curtain time, no waiting for cast. I think her understudy will do great!

    1. Her understudy will forever be grateful to LoHo for her big break!

  18. Mamet plays are populated by lowlifes of the worst sort, so this may just be typecasting.

  19. It's a tiny tiny part.

That said, will she be usint a teleprompter or cue cards? She could hit it old school and have her lines taped to props on the stage....

  20. Yep her understudy will do great and actually get lots of press for being the one who took over when Linsanity was sleeping, drunk, hungover, "exhausted", not answering her phone, crashing into semis, busy with A2A with Arabic married men or just down at the local police station answering questions about that missing jewelry! Good times!

  21. I hope she gets her shut together. This just doesn't seem like the best start, though.

BTW, Dlisted reprinted Enty's BI about the lesbian soap star. Michael K's guess: Deidre Hall.

I'm pretty sure she signed on thinking this was a production of "Plowed on Speed" which is totally understandable with the rarity of sobriety for her. Hard to get all the words and ideas right when you're always hammered.

  24. this will not turn out well......

  25. Seriously, who the hell hires her for anything but ass-to-ass? They know she's a class-A fuck-up, so it shouldn't be a surprise to anydamnbody when she fucks up yet again!

I do wish she'd get her shit together, though. Sad.

  26. I'd rather watch cucumbers grow than waste precious life oh Ho Lohan. Hope this will be the final exorcism of Lohan off planet earth. While at it, put Ho Hilton and all Kardadhians on the same shipping off thus planet.

  27. Don't feel bad for them, feel happy for Lindsay's understudy who is going to get tons of stage time

  28. I hope she doesn't come down with mercury poisoning. Though her co-stars might.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Actually, this isn't as stupid an idea as it seems, at least for the producers. They probably know Lohan will be a no-show half the time, but the play will get tons of press and sell more tickets than normally would. The only ones losing out would be the ticketbuyer who were hoping to see a train wreck, but get the understudy instead. It will be like buying a lottery ticket.

  30. This is totally fine. Lindsay's understudy is psyched. She'll be working non-stop.

  31. Lindsay's a much better actress than Madonna. Typing that sentence had a very surreal quality to it.

The play is a three-hander. No news yet on who's playing Fox or Gould. It will be interesting to see who is willing to work with her.

This reminds of the 50s & 60s when actors would f*ck up royally in Hollywood- they'd violate their contract, or be linked to Commie groups, or be too far gone into drink- and were forced to bolt over to Europe to find anybody that would hire them.
