Blind Items Revealed

February 24, 2014

This briefly A list singer/celeb who is now settling down to a one hit wonder B canceled a recent concert because he wanted double the amount of money he was getting. He also submitted a backstage rider to rival an 80's hair band. The venue held firm and our singer said buh bye.

Robin Thicke

    those riders are legendary. when they get release to the public (some do) they make celebrities look like assholes. lol

    jlo once said ((shrug)) they asked me what would make me comfortable backstage and i told them ((shrug))

    ...hey, dont ask if u dont wanna know.

  11. I'm with Charlie on this one. I love to read the riders. Got any details on that, Enty?

  12. His pug nose face just doesn't do it for me. Sorry.

  13. Mimi and Madonna had their riders made public.JLo too.
    anyhow The R&B stations aren't quite mainstream pop which is where he had his biggest hits. Just because he was late crossing over doesn't make him a one hit wonder Enty.

  14. Anyone who seriously considered this jerkwad to be A List deserves to be stuck in an elevator with the smarm-monster they created for the length of time he was on that list.
    He's not only an asswipe, he has minimal talent. <--extravagantly generous.

  15. I hate Blurred lines, mostly because my ex from last year loved it. I hate my ex, and I now hate this song...not that I wouldn't have started hating anyway. It was overplayed and annoying.

    sandybrook is correct re robin. i remember him with a song out YEARS ago. it was a pretty good tune. if im not misstaken it was around the time that PINK still did "black" music.

  17. His first release was "wanna love you girl" it was a BET hit and the video shot in the Caribbean, was sexy and, it was produced by pharrell, nough said, it was....shortly after 2000 if I'm to remember correctly..and it was a hot album..I stated that already.

    Lost without u, his biggest hit before blurred lines, was sappy as shit, but a pretty lovesong

  21. @fancy The Van Halen M&M thing is true, but they had a good reason for doing it. They had a lot of equipment on stage that could be dangerous if the rider wasn't followed. If they went into the dressing room and found the M&M's right, they knew theyh followed every detail and didn't need to check the equipment, if the M7M's weren't done right, they had to check the stage to make sure everyone was going to be safe.

  23. Oh well, shame that he's so douchey, I think he's talented, great falsetto.

    @rowdy

    i used to watch BEHIND THE MUSIC back in the day and listen to Stern around the same time so i know of the "m&m" rider. it was explained on one (or both) of those shows. I always laugh at it because for years people thought they were dicks because of that. when they cleared it up it made so much sense.

  25. The smoking gun usually posts the riders. Didn't J Lo want lily's in the toilet? idiot.

    ReplyDelete
  26. @Fancy You wouldn't believe how many people STILL think they were doing it just to be dicks. I personally think it's an awesome way to test the crews. That way you don't have the band breathing down the hired helps neck the entire time.
    I've also noticed that, even though Enty says Hair bands had huge riders, they were nothing compared to all the pop stars out there. Mostly they wanted some food and booze in their rooms whereas the pop stars wanted flowers, satin sheets, new couches/carpet (and to see the receipt for it in some cases), expensive wines, champagnes, foods. Whereas you see someone like Paul Stanley say "I need some bottled water, tea and some deli meat with hard rolls" and that's pretty much it.

    @rowdy

    lol...yeah i dont believe that rock stars come with more demands than pop stars either. that was just laughable IMO. i think that rock bands are a business despite the debauchery that may or may not go on backstage every employee needs to take it seriously. thats what i think the point van halen was trying to make. perhaps some of the behind the scene guys (roadies) started to think that the glory of a rock star extended to them and eddie and crew wanted to remind them that the rock stars are on stage...

    @rowdy
    CORRECTION: i think it was more the manager that was the problem and not the roadies.

    a lil part of me hates whomever for making rock stars act like business men. lol ;^)

  30. The best rider ever was Wu Tang. My man did a few shows for them and their standard rider was 'lots of fresh towels, lots of bottles of liquor (not specified), bucket of ice and 12 boxes of condoms'.
    They were good shows. I got lots of love from them, but I didn't partake.

    ReplyDelete
  31. @Rowdy the roadies don't do the rider, that's up to the venue and the road manager or tour manager.
    And band managers are the devil and the death of music. They make the ridiculous demands.

  32. To say he has minimal talent is a HUGE stretch. Dude has a soulful beautiful voice. But it does NOT excuse him from being an a-hole.

    ReplyDelete
  33. @Angela Robin Thicke is talented, imo. But he's allowed his private life to overtake his professional one.

    Frankly, were I his beautiful wife, I'd take him back cautiously and with a newly worded post-nup.

  34. An acquaintance was at a charity tennis match where Alan Thicke was an invited guest. Someone had the bright idea of playing 'Blurred Lines'. She witnessed Alan pause, shake his head and say that's the song that got Robin written out of the will.
