#1 - This former A+ list entertainer(singer) who will always be A list especially by bartenders and people who think they can play piano gave away about $5M last year to schools and programs to benefit music programs.
If hes giving the money to NYC schools that's great because most schools there have cut back on their musical programs and courses due to lack of money in the budget.
it's great they do this but it also is a tax incentive for anyone making this kind of huge cash. Billy Joel is one who always gave back, unlike so many others.
How appropriate watch Mr Holland's Opus right now and he just got cut due to funding and no money for the arts.
Seriously it's a tragic shame. Music, art, drama so important. While we all gather here to bullshit we've sort of all forgotten our common love is movies and tv and most here have wonderful taste in music too.
"FORMER" A+??? On Neptune, maybe. Shit. If selling out Madison Square Garden once a month INDEFINITELY doesn't cut it, just what the hell does one have to do these days to be A+?
Apparently, today is my day to complain about the rating system. I'll ease up tomorrow, I promise, but dagnabbit, Billy Joel is the epitome of Living Legend and he's selling more records now than he ever has.
Former A+ should NEVER be used in the same universe as Paul McCartney. Billy Joel not only gives his money, but his personal time also. He is always cleaning up the local beaches around where I live. He is extremely generous and will always be A+.
I have always said if I ever get rich, I'm going to give away a lot of money to charity. If I can give about $150 a month to charities when I get about $700, consider what I'd do with multi millions lol
I love hearing stuff like this about celebs. He gets a lot of flack because of his drinking but he's more than redeemed himself based on the good he's done.
Generally speaking M = a thousand and MM = a million (a thousand thousand). So when I see Enty talking about Justin Bieber giving away $2M and Billy Joel giving away $5M I think $2,000 and $5,000, not $2 million and $5 million.
Awww.
ReplyDeleteHe didn't start the fire!
ReplyDeleteIs his daughter still trying to hook-up with Caroline Manzos boys? lol
ReplyDeleteNo way, Derek. That was all Caroline's creeper fantasy.
DeleteI love Billy Joel!
ReplyDeleteDonnie Darko got this!
ReplyDeleteYeah so uh I love the movie Donnie Darko lol
ReplyDeleteSo do I Derek. Long story but that movie made me quit Blockbuster.
DeleteIf hes giving the money to NYC schools that's great because most schools there have cut back on their musical programs and courses due to lack of money in the budget.
ReplyDeleteThe schools everywhere have.
DeleteI'm glad to hear that he is giving back-ack-ack-ack-ack-ack-ack-ack.....
ReplyDelete+100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
DeleteThank you, thank you....:)
DeleteOh man TNC that was bloody awesome. The Opster wants to know why I'm chuckling over here.
DeleteI haven't seen RHONJ in forever. It was never my fav. I did like watching that bratty Ashley girl fight with her mom 24/7 though...
ReplyDeleteI only watch for Milania's verbal abuse. She can offend 4 ethnicities while ordering chicken nuggets.
Deletehaha yeah Millania is cute
ReplyDeleteCute? Milania is the goddamn devil.
DeleteIf I knew he was giving the proceeds of his May MSG concert to a cat sanctuary, I would have gone in June.
ReplyDeleteYeah we get it. You love pussy
Delete@tongue
ReplyDeleteTehehehe

ReplyDeleteThat's very cool of him.

Kudos to Mr. Joel for keeping music alive.
You can call him a "B"
ReplyDeleteEven sneer about "C"
But he's always A++ to me
And frankly, I'm ashamed at all of you for not beating me to that.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I disappointed you, JAS. It's this New Age Music, makes my head all funny

Paul McCartney is former A+ around here too. Yet Channing Potatotum is A+ for movies and his BFF Jonah Hill unfortunately is an A
ReplyDeleteWe all have days like that, Topper. Just ride it out - revel in the fury and righteous indignation, and come to a place of calm acceptance.
ReplyDeleteToo right Sandybrook - McCartney former A+, my rosy cheeked bottom.
Former A+ should NEVER be used in the same universe as Paul McCartney. Billy Joel not only gives his money, but his personal time also. He is always cleaning up the local beaches around where I live. He is extremely generous and will always be A+.
ReplyDeleteFormer - A-plus??!!?!?! Oh, come on Enties. You're joking, right.
ReplyDeleteBilly Joel is and always will be A-plus.
And sidenote, his XM station is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much more enjoyable than Springsteen's. Sorry, Bruce.
Kills my music teacher soul that music is being cut from so many schools.
We're going to see Billy Joel play in Philly this August. Yay!
