This former A list mostly movie actress has had a turbulent ride through Hollywood and is not even that old, but it feels as if she has been around forever. Her A list name recognition is the only thing that is keeping her in the B range. Her history and personal life have kind of hindered her ability to get parts. Despite all of that, she is practically bankrupting herself because of all the money she gives to two or three different charities and spends almost a thousand hours a year volunteering at them too.

BUT after the infamous shoplifting incident I did discover that Wino wanted to
- auction the goods for charity (instead of burning then per the store's concept)
- did her community service
- did extra community service and kept working there, the judge got 'multiple calls from the centre'

ReplyDeleteI don't think WannaRideHer was "punished." She had many breaks and amazing directors, like Francis Copola, who put their necks out for her to get screwed over. She was the one who decided that bad boys, drugs, and not dealing with her issues was the way to play the game. She lost.

Winona has mad coin but she is generous. Generous and complicated. She s great--I have always loved her. Look at her film resume compared to the "A" listers like Sandra Bullocks. I cant name one Sandra Bullock movie I love but I can name 10 Winonas. We all can. She use to be a mega bitch though. Fame does that to people.

ReplyDeleteI actually went to the youth ACT with WannaRideHer, so I'm well acquainted with her "poor me" big brown eye persona. Anyhoo, she is NOT living in Helen Mirren's guest house, but in a beautiful home in San Francisco. Many in these parts, the SF Bay Area, see her ALL the time.
She "lost" the game by screwing over directors by being a flake.
Always adored her.

@Henriette and I really do believe you. But don't you think her charitable work should be thought upon with respect. Especially since she is doing so under the radar these days? My friends aunt worked with her mom in Toronto---I cant say where etc but her mother is a true humanitarian

It must have been humiliating for her to have her personal issues so public...good on her for doing her volunteer work...that will balance the karma out. I don't care what anyone else says reality bites is one great movie. And she was enaged to johnny depp when he was actually cool and hot...hes still cool now i guess but you know...amber try as you may you and johnny are no nona and johnny or kate and johnny ...
