This former NBC A lister from a hit show that is no longer in the air was considered a ladies man on the show. This month he is finally planning on coming out. Good for him.
Hmm, Lady H... now I'm rethinking my guess. I'm torn. Rumors for both... Although it does beg the question why LeBlanc would make an announcement since he's been in the game for so long and I think he just prefers a low-key lifestyle.
One could argue that with The Office and The Hangover behind him, there's less pressure for Helms to keep it quiet?
I could be wrong but I don't think it's LeBlanc. He's so low key and practically under the radar that this would draw a lot of unneeded attention upon himself. This sounds more like Helms maybe.
I guess you could make the argument that Kelsey came off as a womanizer on Frasier even though the same character was a joke on Cheers. He does ping the gaydar quite strongly.
@dena, yea that's true. @violet, I think it's already been widely discussed John Mahoney was gay. All he would say is he doesn't discuss his personal life.
I think it would be weird for MLB to leave his first wife for his Joey co-star if he is actually gay. Too much opportunity for scandal for a guy so private. Trying to think of who else it could be though...
John Mahoney (the dad from Frasier) has been out forever. He's back in Chicago, doing regional theater. I don't think he's ever even been IN the closet, just quiet about it.
Agree, MLB's marriage ended over a woman and he's stated he has problems with staying faithful. I'd totally go with Kelsey if he wasn't married. Then again, either situation doesn't mean someone isn't gay. Eric McCormack?
Friends in "in the air" every nights, with several showings.
But whatever.
When Matt was married years ago one of the gossips (Ted C, maybe?) implied that he and his wife lived in separate wings of the house and that he was actually involved with her brother.
I don't know why we all care about news like this, but we do, I guess. In another 10 years or so what will the gossip columns talk about?
Kind of a segue/off-topic, but why is there often a furore when heterosexuals portray homosexuals (Tom Hanks in Philadelphia, Sean Penn as Harvey Milk, for example) but there's no correlating outcry when homosexuals portray heterosexuals (Neil Patrick Harris in HIMYM, Cynthia Nixon in SATC)?
Is it a question of Out v In? Is it a question of Star v Supporting?
I rather wish people would stop making a production about coming out, in Hollywood. Why not just live their life, then it would just be obvious? I find it curious such a big production needs to be made.
Used to see them out a lot in NYC functions "as a couple".. bFFs maybe at best...sweet but not hot...and not a couple....oh whooping come out as well already!!!
Matt Blanc
ReplyDeleteBill Cosby
ReplyDeleteThe main guy from Friday Night Lights...
ReplyDeleteLeBlanc. Stupid phone
ReplyDeleteMatt LeBlanc
ReplyDeleteTime will tell, I guess.
I agree with Charlie Matt LeBlanc.
ReplyDeleteHelms
ReplyDeleteOoooh...the Nard Dog is an excellent guess!
DeleteNot much of a ladies man, though.
DeleteLady H, I like your guess. Matt LeBlanc doesn't ping my gaydar. Not that my gaydar has ever worked properly.
ReplyDeleteI have "friends" from all walks of life and a trannie escort friend of mine told me MLB was her best customer.
ReplyDeleteHOW YOU DOIIIIIN
DeleteNiiiiiiiice Montana!!! Great story, yo!
Ohhhhhjj!!! I read this as NBA A lister and I got all excited! Charlie prolly got it, woot Charlie!
ReplyDeleteI read it that way too! So confused.
DeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one! I thought how dumb is it to try and figure out an NBA ladies' man??
DeleteFresh Prince of Bel-Air.
ReplyDeleteI know. I know.
Wow. Agree LeBlanc.
ReplyDeleteHmm, Lady H... now I'm rethinking my guess. I'm torn. Rumors for both... Although it does beg the question why LeBlanc would make an announcement since he's been in the game for so long and I think he just prefers a low-key lifestyle.

I guess we just need to wait and see.
Oh, wow! Never would have guessed Leblanc!
ReplyDeleteMe too Simon.
DeleteMe three!
DeleteAm I the only one that is gonna mock enty for saying the show is no longer "in the air"?
ReplyDeleteDamn. I forgot to.
DeleteI thought LeBlanc was still with the woman from Joey that he left his wife for.
ReplyDeleteAndrea Anders, who was so great on the gone too soon Better Off Ted.
DeleteI don't think it's Matt.
Could have been Ted Danson if him and his wife weren't so perfect. Maybe we aren't thinking back far enough.... Frasier? Seinfeld?
ReplyDeleteI'm on the NOTLABLANC train and it's pretty lonely on board.
ReplyDeleteHow bouts Kelsey Grammer? (But he's married so it would not make sense to come out, if he needed to)
O o Ohhhh! How bouts woody harrelson?
Oh never mind.
Just not la blanc. No offense to his TS friend.
I could be wrong but I don't think it's LeBlanc. He's so low key and practically under the radar that this would draw a lot of unneeded attention upon himself. This sounds more like Helms maybe.
ReplyDeleteI guess you could make the argument that Kelsey came off as a womanizer on Frasier even though the same character was a joke on Cheers. He does ping the gaydar quite strongly.
ReplyDeleteI just googled helms and he weighed in on the whole chick fillet thing saying they lost a customer. Bet it's him, just can't believe Leblanc is gay.
ReplyDeleteI heard vague rumours about John Mahoney. But find it hard to imagine he'd come out now. He was a bit of a ladies man on Frasier.
ReplyDeleteViolet John Mahoney is out I believe.
DeleteEd Helms = ladies man?
ReplyDelete@dena, yea that's true.
ReplyDelete@violet, I think it's already been widely discussed John Mahoney was gay. All he would say is he doesn't discuss his personal life.

ReplyDeleteEd Helms' character on The Office was about as far from a ladies man as you can possibly get. LeBlanc makes a lot more sense given the clues.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't have to be a sitcom though, right? What about someone from ER or one of those other shows that went on forever with a huge cast (LA Law?).

ReplyDeleteStanley?
ReplyDeleteDan Fielding?
Theo Huxtable?
Steve Keaton?
My final answer is Kramer.
I'm going back to NBA reading and saying Jason Collins
ReplyDeleteAndy definitely was not a ladies man on The Office
ReplyDeleteI'm convinced it's Matt LaBlanc too
I think it would be weird for MLB to leave his first wife for his Joey co-star if he is actually gay. Too much opportunity for scandal for a guy so private. Trying to think of who else it could be though...
ReplyDeleteJohn Mahoney (the dad from Frasier) has been out forever. He's back in Chicago, doing regional theater. I don't think he's ever even been IN the closet, just quiet about it.
ReplyDeleteKirk Cameron. Wouldn't that be a dream?
ReplyDeleteDon't think it's Lablanc. He's too low key. Why would he open himself up like that?
ReplyDeleteAgree, MLB's marriage ended over a woman and he's stated he has problems with staying faithful. I'd totally go with Kelsey if he wasn't married. Then again, either situation doesn't mean someone isn't gay. Eric McCormack?
ReplyDeleteEriq la Salle. No freaking clue, but I don't like the Le Blanc guesses. John Mahoney is probably gay, but was he really a ladies' man on Frasier?
ReplyDeleteThen again, Enty keeps claiming this one or that one is going to come out, and they never do so, take it with a grain of salt.

ReplyDelete@tara, eric McCormick a good guess...
ReplyDeleteClooney was on ER too. Just sayin.
ReplyDeleteI'll go with Helms tho.
So obvious.
ReplyDeleteDr. Kildare.
The other friend Matthew Perry
ReplyDeleteFriends in "in the air" every nights, with several showings.
ReplyDeleteBut whatever.

Drug use? Murder?
LeBlanc has a show on right now!!!!! It's not LeBlanc!!! EPISODES!
ReplyDeleteI don't think Ross (David Schwimmer was ever a Ladie's Man)
I have a soft spot for Matt LeBlanc. He had an interesting secret which stayed quiet through the entire run of "Friends."
ReplyDeleteThe secret was: Premature gray hair!
We'll see....we read these blinds about someone coming out, or someone's sex tape coming out...and hardly any of them ever happen.
ReplyDeleteNot sure I'm convinced it's LeBlanc, just wanted to say that Episodes is pretty great!
ReplyDeleteKramer!

ReplyDeleteHow about Zachary Levi?
ReplyDeleteObviously Neil Patrick Harris. :-P
ReplyDelete"In the air" - perhaps a "Wings" reference?
ReplyDeleteIs there any kind of upcoming gay event this month that someone would come out at?
ReplyDeleteWorld Pride in Toronto?
DeleteJohn Mahoney has been out to family and friends for years, maybe he's going to go public. Kelsey Grammer is the only man on Frasier who isn't gay.
ReplyDeleteMatt LeBlanc's sexual orientation is well known. Whether or not he's ready to come out is another matter. It would be nice if he did.
@Brenda: this month (as far as I know, is Pride month. LGBTQ).
ReplyDeletePlease be CLOONEY!!! That's one way to get out of a sham marriage with a 20 million pre-nup. Damn Lawyers.
ReplyDeleteKind of a segue/off-topic, but why is there often a furore when heterosexuals portray homosexuals (Tom Hanks in Philadelphia, Sean Penn as Harvey Milk, for example) but there's no correlating outcry when homosexuals portray heterosexuals (Neil Patrick Harris in HIMYM, Cynthia Nixon in SATC)?

It's just a question; no agenda.
Obviously it's about the money, but still...
By the way, I don't think this is LeBlanc.
ReplyDeleteI rather wish people would stop making a production about coming out, in Hollywood. Why not just live their life, then it would just be obvious? I find it curious such a big production needs to be made.
ReplyDeleteEric mcormacksiconic character Will..was GAY..hardly a ladykiller...
ReplyDeleteLeBlanc is at best a middle aged bi/ex escort type who ain't coming out over that...trust.
MAhoney been out since the revolutionary war and Kelsey a PT drag queen in his private life...
So the mystery man is likely a person adjoined too often with gay rumors, or someone would quess correct...
Ted danson
ReplyDeleteMeant to say..not TOO often adjoined with rumors.
ReplyDeletePlus that whole whooping Goldberg relationship was whack
John Stamos!
ReplyDelete(Just kidding...but it WOULD be fucking awesome!)
Whoopis has bearded a bit indeed..frank labella, perhaps mr danson
ReplyDeleteStamos...never...darlin....he liiiikes the laaadues:))
Frank langella lol aka/Dracula
ReplyDeleteUsed to see them out a lot in NYC functions "as a couple".. bFFs maybe at best...sweet but not hot...and not a couple....oh whooping come out as well already!!!
ReplyDeleteMichael Richards
ReplyDeleteIf we're going WAY back, I'm gonna say Tom Selleck-Magnum P.I.
ReplyDeleteMatt LeBlanc on Graham Norton....strange behaviour thank goodness for Seth or that particular episode would have been a real flop!
ReplyDeleteI'll hop in the Way Back Machine and guess Tim Daly from WINGS! That dude does not seem to age either.
ReplyDeleteTim Daley? (One can wish!)
ReplyDeleteWhy has no one guessed Stephen Weber from Wings? Brian was more the Ladie's man than Daly's character, Joe (BTW, I was a huge Wings fan).
ReplyDeleteI doubt this is Danson. He's still married to Mary Steenburgen and I just don't think a man would make a decision like this while still married.
Steven Weber - Wings
ReplyDeleteMaybe Tim Meadows, the ultimate Ladies' Man?
ReplyDelete
