That is not grrrrrrreat.
ReplyDelete:( Tony the Tiger was always my favorite cereal mascot. I met him once when I was little, too! (Not the voiceover guy--just some dude in a costume).
ReplyDeleteDarn. I think I need a box of cereal for lunch.
ReplyDeleteGeesh enty - couldn't find a video of him doing the voice??
ReplyDeleteHis voice is a childhood memory to many of us. RIP
ReplyDeleteI didn't like him as a wrestling announcer, but I liked Tony the Tiger.
ReplyDelete64??? I'd have thought he was farther along, I mean dayum, I was a little sh*tter and remember those commercials. RIP
ReplyDeleteHe died a week ago I always knew he did wrestling had no idea until he died he did Tony the Tiger.
ReplyDeleteUnless he started when he was about 15 this can't be the original voice actor.
ReplyDeleteThe original voice, and actually the one for a really long time was singer Thurl Ravenscroft. He himself can up with the GRRRRRREAT! part of the line. Originally it was just "Frosted Flakes... They're Good!" but he told the producer and demonstrated that a Tiger would be better Grrrrrreat!
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing him on Geraldo's old syndicated show in the 90s. He had a couple of episodes where he had a lot of great cartoon voices on.
RIP.
ReplyDeleteHuh??? Thurl Ravenscroft is the voice of Tony the Tiger- and it is well known! Who is this Lee guy- maybe his family would have liked to think he was Tony the Tiger- but its Thurl. Look it up... sorry.
ReplyDeleteThurl was the original, not the only.
