Today's Blind Items - Old Hollywood Blind Item

Usually in an Old Hollywood Blind, all of the participants are all deceased. Not so in this case. The main instigator is still very much alive. Back in the day our actress was probably B list. She starred in lots of television and lots of movies, but her best acting was saved for the bedroom. She was at one point in time the highest paid escort in the world. She earned many thousands of dollars each night for her performances and most of the men who really liked her ended up marrying her because they thought she would be less expensive. Maybe so, but it never stopped her from charging others or seeing other men while she was married. when she was at her peak there is not a name in the celebrity world or political world who she did not hook up with. One of her more juicy conquests involved her ex-husband. She cheated on him throughout their marriage and they ended up divorced and he decided to marry someone who looked almost the same, but was much more faithful. The sister of our actress. well, it turns out that the sister was not that great of an actress and the ex missed his wife and what she did to him in bed so they started a very long affair that didn't stop even when the sister caught them in bed together multiple times. The only reason it did stop is because our actress got married again to one of her better customers.

    1. I thought so too but Madge was only married to him for 1 year. Not a very long affair for him & Zsa Zsa.

    2. Zsa Zsa is 97 years old! Perhaps this relates to the previous post about 'what is a good long life.'

    3. Yep. Zsa Zsa. Was always rumored that Gregory Peck's wife Veronique (sp.?) was once an escort, also. And Candy Spelling - but YUCK! at the thought of that being true...

  2. Don't know why I am thinking Raquel Welch for this.

    1. She immediately came to mind, but I don't know her history

    2. She was Marty Melcher's mistress (Doris Day's husband, the one that lost all her money in bad investments to the Madoff of that era and then died, in '68.).

  3. The ones that hated each other? One just died?

  4. Sally Field - that sly fox. They liked her, they really, really liked her.

    Just kidding with this guess.

  5. Boom! I think Mass hammered it.

  6. Loving the Zsa Zsa guess

  7. @Massconfusion Got it!!

Zsa Zsa married to George Sanders 49-54
George Sanders married to Magda Gabor 70-71

  8. Yes Zsa Zsa. George Sanders later married her sister Magda. But it was annulled and he eventually suicided.

  9. The Gabor sisters were a very early effort at celebrity manufacturing. I adored them.
I'll go along with that guess.

  10. Zsa Zsa ... George Sanders married Magda after their divorce.

  11. I don't understand ,,,why would the long standing affair between non acting sister and ex husband stop because acting sister married one of her customers?

    ReplyDelete
  12. I would debate the use of the phrase 'very much alive' as far as Zsa Zsa is concerned. Alive maybe.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Zsa Zsa is still alive? Don't know why I thought she was dead.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Haha Violet I was just about to say the same thing. She breathes thus shes alive by definition only.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I was Zombie Zsa Zsa for Halloween a couple of years ago. I can't believe she's still hanging in.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Totally agree with violet as well, í don't think anyone would use the term " very much alive" in relation to zsa zsa,,,and she had two sisters,,,would enty not say one of her sisters? My money is on Joan collins.

  17. oops missed the part about the marriage-I withdraw my guess

although there were some shenanigans between Joan and Jackie over some man......

    ReplyDelete
  18. The better customer according to her timelines was Herbert Huffner her 4th hubby and a financier.

    ReplyDelete
  19. She still with that "prince" tool?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Its not Joan Collins Groggy her and Jackie didn't marry the same men.

    ReplyDelete
  21. That is Froggy spelchek.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Can't be Collins, no shared spouse

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ummm not to derail the bandwagon but there's 16 years and 1 extra ex-wife gap between Zsa Zsa and Madge's marriage to George. Madge was married to George for 1 year. He died 1 year after their divorce.

How is it possible for Zsa Zsa and George to have a "very long affair" after he married Madge? Necrophilia?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Lol, yes, I am typically groggy. Does it say he married the sister,,,I read it he married a look a like but also had an long standing affair with the sister which ended,,,,,I don't read it he married this sister, just he had an affair with her.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Ps. Zsa Zsa was unmarried from 67 - 75, which includes the years of George/Madge's marriage AND his death. So again it doesn't fit the BI.

    1. Wasn't she married to Jack Ryan, notorious necrophiliac/s&m freak during some of that time frame? Or didn't they get married until 1975?

      Delete
    2. @Trilby yes it was Jack Ryan and now I'm off to google something I probably don't WANT to know but somehow feel like I NEED to know lol.

  26. Yes it says he married the sister who looked like the actress and the sister walked in on him screwing the ex.

  27. Joan Fontaine and Olivia De Havilland.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That's the one, oh UrbanDictionaryName!

      Delete
    2. ?? Is Fontaine a dirty sex act? I got procrastibate from a former boss. One who puts things off, resulting in self pleasure with nothing to show for it. Common in call centres.

      Delete
  28. I don't think it does say that,,,I think it says he married a look alike. Also had an affair with the non acting sister, which did not stop when the acting slutty one caught them, but did eventually end.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Agree w/ MassConfusion. Soon as I read sister I thought Zsa Zsa.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Either way,,,enty needs to sort his English language skills out, half the time you can't work out what he is saying,,,never mind who it is,,,:-))

    ReplyDelete
  31. Froggy the sister was the lookalike and not that great an actress which made hubby yearn for his ex again. eventually the sister caught them together in bed a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  32. If nothing else, whilst googling much married celebs i've discovered that Richard Pryor has been married 9 times. 9! You'd think he'd have given it up as a lost cause.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Its not Joan and Olivia. didn't share a hubby.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I would DIE for this to be about Olivia de Havilland,@Procrastibator.
    Die.

  35. Those wild Gabor sisters!

ooh @kno.. that would be EPIC!!

  36. Ah, ok thanks sandy, I get it now,:-)

  37. Froggy after a long time reading Entys mishmosh
with poor grammar punctuation and spelling ive learned to understand them. Taint easy to decipher a lot of times either. :(

  38. Lol, yes, I'm obviously too new to it, I read and reread that trying to work out what the heck he was saying,,,,took a translator in the end/-))

    ReplyDelete
  39. Yeah, it's ZsaZsa...I wonder how she is doing.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Good lord! Between the three Gabor sisters, they had 20 husbands! Damn.

According to the wiki pages for Sanders and Magda, their marriage was annulled after just 32 days.

How could Sanders have carried out a "very long" affair in 32 days?

    ReplyDelete
  42. I first thought the Gabors when reading this.

    ReplyDelete
  43. My first thought was Joan Collins.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I recently read a book on the Hiltons, which covered Conrad's marriage to Zsa Zsa in detail. She was a total golddigger, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was her.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Zsa Zsa Gabor was always Hungary for men. And money. But she was infinitely classier than those Kartrashians.

    ReplyDelete
  46. well am pretty sure Joan Collins was a call girl back in the day but I am going with the Gabors here after fervent googling......

    ReplyDelete
  47. @pip squeak,,,maybe it just felt like a very long affair:-))

    ReplyDelete
  48. Zsa Zsa was married 8 times, technically 9, but one was annulled the same week! What a harlot!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Long ago I had a friend who had immigrated from Hungary and knew the Gabors, who were notorious. Before they came to America they took Jewels and heirlooms from people promising to sell them for American dollars. Of course, these people never saw a dime. This wasn't long after the war, so times were really tough. When my friend arrived here, she looked her up for advice on making a new life here, and ZZ told her that she would introduce her to some rich men, and that she should charge them but select one to marry. I know this story is true, for many reasons.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I believe the story,,,to be fair, it was a different world back then, and these immigrant women sold what they had,,they were successful at it, or at least zsa zsa was, and she made herself a lot of money, whether she was happy was a different story,,,,,but sometimes I guess you do what you need to do. Why you keep doing it when you no longer need to,,,,that's a different question entirely.

Very diff times- no texting, no interenet no twitter or whatever else. Plus they had fled hungary innWW 2. They knew how to be charming. Can you picture any of the Ks charming? Me either.

  59. Definitely Zsa Zsa. She and her sister, Magda, were both married to the same guy.

Poor George Sanders, quite a sad story he had. He only married Magda after his wife after Zsa Zsa, the wonderful Benita Hume died at relatively young 61. And his brother actor Tom Conway died that same year too. He retreated into heavy drink from all that, then married Magda. And after that Magda debacle was over, he was in full tailspin. And all that was worsened by him developing early early on-set dementia on top of having a stroke during that same time period. This was all in a span of 2 years, by the end of which he committed suicide in 1972. One of the great sophisticates of the screen, his suicide note was nothing less- "Dear World, I am leaving because I am bored. I feel I have lived long enough. I am leaving you with your worries in this sweet cesspool. Good luck."

  61. I suspect it is Zsa Zsa, particularly because of her history with not only actors but politicians like Ataturk and (son) Trujillo along with the traditional jetset and Hollywood crowd.

    Here's a good overview:

  62. @Froggy: Yeah, "different world back then", because there are no gold digging immigrants charging hourly fees today, huh? Krupa, Melania, et al must have perfected time travel to whore for higher dollars.
