Today's Blind Items - The Miva

Is there a word for a male diva? Does miva sound too much like mulva? Why yes, that is the second Seinfeld reference today. Too much Crackle. I don't know how to describe this A list mostly television actor. Sure, people have called him a lot of things during his career, and he has gone through lots and lots of women in a very public way, but no one has called him a miva. You would think that after his crash and burn from A+ list mostly movie actor to a thank you for the role in a made for tv movie that he would be grateful and treat people he works with well. Not so. When he got a break that rescued him from Lifetime oblivion he responded by treating all the people he worked with like crud and tried to make it clear that the show would fail without him. He was a nice piece to the show, but his head was way bigger than his talent. No one liked him and when the show ended, he was the one cast member who didn't get a going away gift from the crew. That attitude sent him into a second exile until he was given one more chance by another producer who owed the actor a favor from back in the day. The producer put our actor in the middle of a show that was already doing well and our actor immediately took over like he was the star that every viewer came to see even before any of his shows aired. Almost immediately the entire cast and crew were plotting his demise but were thwarted by the producer who owed the favor. Must have been a big favor. With the cast and crew threatening to quit though en masse, the producer finally caved and our actor was shown the door. I bet Tori Spelling could use a new co-star soon.

  9. Oh. Sad. Rob was one of my teen heart throbs. Him and Andrew Mc in. Class. And I know Andrew Mc is not nice. And now it's both of them. My teen self feels robbed.

  10. Didn't we just discuss his diva ways not too long ago. He's a bitch. A pretty bitch!

  11. Rob Low. West Wing cast and crew hated him and 2nd show Parks and Rec.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Wasn't Lowe also on Brothers and Sisters too? He does seem to move from project to project a lot. And yeah, I can see Lowe having a big attitude.

  13. Rob Lowe -- he was disliked by Brothers and Sisters cast/crew too

  14. lol Sugar--hush! That is not Miva behaviour that is simply sorting out da truth. ; )

Oh well---is there a Miva jail? Cause I will bunk with Robby

  15. Even I got Rob Lowe, about 2 sentences in. And I never get these.

But then, he HAS been married for like 20 years, and Tricia Shaw noted.

  16. My Jamaican friend calls me a Divo...

  17. Melissa Gilbert used to tweet at him all the time but he never responded. I asked her if he was a snob (via Twitter) and she responded that he wasn't a snob but she had always been disposable to him.

    ReplyDelete
  18. @Sally that is a lot of drama to admit to on Twitter. If I was Rob I would be pissed lol

    ReplyDelete
  19. Didn't Melissa really ream him out in her autobiography?

  20. Aw, I loved him on West Wing and Parks and Rec. That man is ageless.

    (always fuck that up)

  26. @Derek -- oh I agree -- and though all her tweets to him (except that one) were benign -- she got ripped by other tweeters for contacting him via social media when his lack of response made it clear he wasn't interested in contact. She doesn't tweet at him anymore.

  27. Definitely Rob Lowe, and agree the hit show was probably West Wing or Brothers and Sisters. Parks and Rec was never considered a hit. Although, I've always had a soft spot for it. I thought he was great on it. I never caught up with the rest of this season. Didn't it go on hiatus or something?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Happy for him and his sobriety BUT I can imagine Rob tsk tsking and giving everyone the side eye when around anyone 'imbibing'...

    ReplyDelete
  29. @Kristin---LOLLLL I wish I had all that in me

  30. He left Parks and Rec to do The Pro and Rashida left with him, so maybe he fits if the second show isn't Parks. I know he had a Ayn Randian kind of worldview - I read his book (honestly a FANTASTIC read, very well-written and informative) where he agreed to do a cover shoot in the WW era without his cast and justified it in a Randian fashion. So this does fit. But he did do West Wing then Lyon's Den and Dr. Vegas which he toplined, and then Parks. So Enty is leaving out shows.

  31. Rob Lowe for the win. Check out his Wikipedia page; it details quite a bit about his issues on The West Wing, etc. Also... didn't Enty fairly recently reveal Rob as the actor who was still angry about his failed movie career and believes that he wasn't given enough of a chance to succeed? If so, sounds like Rob tends to see himself as a frequent victim.

  32. Gosh and there was me thinking it was the sex tape scandals that did for him. Never knew he was also deeply dislikable as a person. Personally I never trust the really pretty boys anyways.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Rob Lowe doesn't fit. He left West Wing well before it ended. Back to the drawing board dummies!

    1. Actually, Rob returned for a few episodes at the end of TWW's last season, and was still considered a cast member at the time the series ended. Sorry if this disappoints you.

  34. For all of those that think this is Rob and for those of you who dislike him, his pilot The Pro wasn't picked up so he's out of a job. And there's no way it would be realistic for him to come back to Parks except for a guest spot.

    ReplyDelete
  35. he is pretty though

  36. Wendy! LOL oh Lawd...

  37. I still guess Rob.
But as an alternative---Ralph Machio? But if that's the case I want outta Miva jail and my bail is probably pretty damn high...

  39. I forgot about Brothers and Sisters and all the other shows . The West Wing stories were pretty consistent. He thought he was the star since he was the most well known at the start. Martin Sheen wasn't supposed to have as large a role as he ended up having. Sheen's role grew and the ensemble cast got more popular. He was difficult and alienated everyone. Very similar behavior as Terry Hatcher on DH.

  40. Wow I'd guess but the opportunity to be dissed by Wendy is too great. I'll go with HER guess. Oh wait, there isn't one.

  41. I loved WW as it introduced me to Alison Janney.

  42. Maybe his face hurts. Skin that tight is bound to make a person cranky.

    ReplyDelete
  43. The behavior fits Rob Lowe's reputation for sure but other details are off. Enty never gets details like that wrong.

    /sarcasm

  44. Enty - there can never be enough Seinfeld references, IMO. I'm an utter & complete addict!

  45. Rob Lowe? First name that popped into my head.

  46. Wait hold on. Why is everybody ganging up on me? All I have ever done is call you all dummies and say everything you say is dumb. What am I missing?

If it didnt say he was once a movie actor it fits Eddie Cibrian,he was let go from a CSI show.

  48. Went to the Kathy and Regis show years ago, and Rob Lowe was the guest. I was in the first row, so I got to see him close up. He's tiny and petite. Also, IMO, he's not that attractive.

  52. I think Rob Lowe is nice bc he waved me on to cut in front if him in traffic when I was coming outta TJ's parking lot. My first guess was Michael Douglas - libarace. Oh. And Rob is cuuuuuute!

  53. Definitely Rob Lowe! I've never gotten his appeal, even back in the '80s. He's too delicate and feminine looking, and not in a good way, on top of the fact that he has always come across as a self-important dick.

    ReplyDelete
  54. phew. Thanks Gayeld. Him and Rob were in The Outsiders together. Along with Tom Cruise and many others. They all looked waaay too greasy for me though. And very young. Don't wanna end up in the real slammer!

  56. I really enjoyed Rob Lowes work in Wayne's World and Wayne's World II, also in the Austin Powers franchise. So, he's a regular power house in the film industry. Unstoppable.

  57. Alls I know is Rob Lowe was delightfully entertaining when he called in for "Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me" this past weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I think Rob Lowe knows how to put on the nice-guy schtik in talk-show appearances and all that but is also a major dickhead diva to work with. He tries to justify why he's such an asshole on the set in his first book (yes I read it and yes it wasn't half-bad!) and comes off really lame and unconvincing.

I think he fancies himself a far bigger star and a far better actor than he in fact is.

  62. I think Rob Lowe feels ripped off that he crashed so hard from a little trailblazing sex tape. That's like handing someone your business card these days.
