Johnny Weir And His Husband Are Fighting Again

For the second time we know of, Johnny Weir got into an argument with his husband and blood was drawn. According to TMZ, the pair got into a fight after Johnny read some disparaging remarks about himself on the phone of his husband. One thing led to another and Johnny's husband ended up a bloody mess thanks to some well placed scratches from Johnny. While I think the couple should split because there should never be violence in a relationship, I think Johnny is missing part of the big picture here. There are lots of washed up figure skaters for NBC to choose from when giving out cushy announcing jobs. Why should the network continue to employ someone who beats their husband? The network already gave him one second chance, but I wouldn't be shocked if Tara Lipinski had a different partner the next time there is a gig where she is co-hosting with a guy.

  2. Gotta agree with Enty on this one. Spousal abuse is never a plus for a personality in the public eye.

On a tangent, the Trial Lawyers Association was one of the very first groups to come out for marriage equality. They knew that when there are gay marriages, there are also (very lucrative) gay divorces.

  3. Second time "that we know of".
    Sure, it only happened twice.

    "That we know of".

He needs to be fired. Make an example of him that abuse is NOT okay. You know, that "we know of".

  4. I'm sorry but he is still a WHO to me. Figure skaters rank low on my need to know scale, followed closely by rappers and fashion designers.
He needs to grow up if he thinks abuse resolves issues...

    1. Aww that's a shame, @Steampunk. I have this awesome anecdote about Tonya Harding, Sean Coombes, and Karl Lagerfeld. It's funny, and kinda sexy too! It explains everything about them.

But now I feel there's no point telling it. Never mind. Sigh.

    2. Alita, I'd pay to hear that anecdote, but only if they all walk into a bar...

  6. Let's face it, the husband (who is a sweet looking chap but seemingly doesn't warrant a name here) is probably staying because of money. Sounds like they're maybe as bad as one another. Oh for the good old drama free days of Torvill and Dean.

  7. I thought someone was always supposed to be arrested in domestic disputes. I thought if the police get involved and evidence of physical abuse then either the man or the woman had to be arrested. Are same sex couples somehow exempt from this police practice?

  8. Co-sign @Steampunk.. the only reason I know who he is is because he was on Celebrity Cook-off on Food Network.

That's the only reason I knew who Brian Boitono was too.. His show "What would Brian Boitono Make?" also on the Food Network was hilarious. The only reason it didn't come back for a second season is because they aired it at 7:00 a.m. on Sundays or something. God forbid they show anything in the afternoons and evenings but back to back reruns of Rachel and Giada *gag*

  9. So abuse is only bad for business, huh? There are rumors that Johnny's man does online gigs and escorting. Hot fucking mess. These two will destroy each other soon enough. They both need help.

  13. I'm sorry but when I see that picture all I can do is shake my head. Don't care about his sexuality but Johnny is a piece or work.

  14. Johnny just like a woman, huh? Can't take criticism.

  15. Violence is never good nor should it be tolerated in any relationship. I am surprised he wasn't arrested.

  16. Johnny needs to get rid of this guy...obviously he's a cheater and obviously cheating is something Johnny can't handle. Kick that ass to the curb, my friend.

  17. What kind of man calls the cops when hit by another man? Hit back. Harder, and more often.

  18. I only knew who Brian Boitano was because of South Park.

  19. Johnny looks like Pee Wee Herman's grown son. Is he naturally that pale or is it the makeup? I think his husband is cute.

  20. I might take some heat for saying this, but I'm gonna say it anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if NBC keeps him on as a commentator, because they want to be seen as the first network to go with a VERY out and proud gay man as a commentator. They will rationalize the whole domestic violence issue with the political correctness of having an effeminate gay man working for them.

    1. For being one of the first out and proud commentators on a network Johnny has not been a very good role model. I have to believe just as many gays as straights are over his shenanigans. He is good for the gossip sites though.

  22. Yes they have a pool of male skaters to choose from, but are there any as excentric as Weir? People seem to dig the chemistry between he and Tara.

  23. Yes, texas rose, Johnny is a HORRIBLE role model with these violent tendencies, but that's my point. I think they'll keep him despite that.

Off topic…I do LOVE Johnny's bag. The green is a great choice. He may be an abusive shit, but he's got style when he wants to.

    2. Because he apparently wants to be employed as an analyst for NBC and as such as a responsibility to conduct himself ina professional manner. If he just wants to live off of $$ or be self employed then he can act as big of a fool as he wants. Would you support NBC keeping one of their sports announcers if he beat his wife, made racial or bigoted comments, or otherwise conducted himself as a fool to the public- I doubt it. That is why he has to be a role model.

  27. The husband's tie and Jonny's purse should match. At least if I were a cute gay couple in the spot light that's what I would do. Then again a lot of narcissism is prevalent so it's no wonder they don't look like a pairs skating team.
