Swiss surrealist artist H.R. Giger who designed the monster and revolutionary sci-fi sets for the film "Alien" has died, his museum said on Tuesday. He was 74.
@OneEyedCharlie - "Alien" is the scariest movie I've ever seen. By the time it was over I was practically underneath my theater seat. To this day I haven't watched it again.
I watched Alien for the first time at the house of friend of my parents. They went out to dinner and I stayed home, in this strange house, in the woods, near Clear Lake, and watched it with all the lights off.
Rip:-((
ReplyDeleteAh, sorry to hear that. Loved Giger's work.
ReplyDeleteI remember when 'Alien' first came out in the theaters. Scared me shitless.

ReplyDeleteAll of the sequels were terrible - or worse.
@Andrew. I suggest you try it again. Preferably in a strange house in the woods, by a lake, alone, at night.
DeleteVery relaxing. *whimper*

ReplyDeleteWasn't the least bit scary. *twitch*
C'mon, Aliens was a damn fine sequel.
ReplyDeleteHe was brilliant and will be missed.
Aliens was a great sequel. Rip.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Alien is one of the most beautifully thought through creatures in sci-fi as well as some of the scenery.
ReplyDeleteTwo obscure deaths in the last couple of days.
ReplyDelete"His " museum? Now I'm impressed!
ReplyDeleteRIP. He was a dude who draw penises (Alien monster is a stylized cock) and made us love it. That is talent.
ReplyDeleteToo bad :( What an incredible talent. RIP.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to be Ripley. She was strong and she did not take shit from anyone.
