Four Perfect Scores On Dancing With The Stars

Last night on Dancing With The Stars, the judges seemed to be awarding perfect scores or something close to it after every dance. I think at this point in the season the celebrities are better, but there must be some rule that says that perfect scores really need to start being given now to ratchet up the drama. I think another reason for doing it is so the audience gets to decide their favorites rather than the judges. If everyone has the same score, it takes the process out of the hands of the judges and leaves it to the people who actually care enough to vote. With as many talent shows as I have watched since American Idol started, I have yet to pick up the phone or go online and vote for any of the performers. I guess I'm not invested enough in the outcome to vote and I wonder what the percentage is of people who watch and people who vote and how it differs from show to show. When all was said and done last night it was Charlie White who was cut.

Where is Casey? I thought he died years ago. Too lazy to google.

  3. Is this like the All Star Slam Dunk contest where there are TOO many 10s given out and it becomes really boring? And also cheapens Dominique Wilkins's spectacular dunks? Just looking for a frame of reference I can understand

  4. Violet he's disappeared. He was in an assisted living home because he's really sick but his wife may have moved him somewhere to keep him away from his kids. He is not in America, but he may be on an Indian reservation.

  5. Thanks Sandy - excuse my lack of American history knowledge but aren't Indian reservations in America? or are we talking the Indian continent? which would be weird.

  6. Indian reservations while in Amnerica are not governed by America but by the tribes under watch of the Deapartment of the Interior. Most natives dont consider themselves United States citizens.

  7. Afternoon Violet. American Indian reservations are granted a limited sovereignty status. Hence, a lawyer could be "technically" correct when he states that Mr Kasem is not in America.

    1. Cameron should have gone weeks ago. Can't stand her. Would have loved to see Charlie and Meryl, his former skating partner, battle it out in the finals. Sadly though, as usual, it's the Derek and Maks Show. Still love watching, but I record it and fast forward through ALL of Cameron's schtick so I don't hurl my dinner on the TV screen.

    3. Meryl is still Charlie's partner. They are currently touring with Stars on Ice when not filming DWTS.

  12. That's sad. A horrible way to live out the end of your life.

  13. Violet, he has advanced Parkinson's; to the point where he can't speak or feed himself. His wife is keeping him from his kids, but I don't think they are as pure as the driven snow either. It's all about who gets to grab the biggest piece of the financial pie.

  14. The only reason Cameron is on the finale is that they know it's not possible for her to win.

When they tell the contestants they are in jeopardy, they usually fit in there that it doesn't actually mean they had the lowest number of votes. Candace could have had the second lowest score.

I think they give scores out in the beginning that are much too high. Too many 8's & 9's given out too early in the season.
