Director's Cut Of Jay-Z And Solange Fight

As the days go on, I feel like there will be an even longer version than the one below. Oh, or there will be lost footage or something like that with commentary. In the longer version, there is extended yelling by Solange directed towards Jay-Z. During that entire period, Beyonce just stands there and Jay-Z basically stands as far away as he can get in the corner. Solange and Jay-Z clearly have been arguing before they step on the elevator. Something which should also be noted is the bodyguard is Beyonce's bodyguard and not Jay-Z's. I always found it odd they hire their own bodyguards who are only loyal to their personal employer. Several times her bodyguard speaks into his microphone to alert someone about their status. The announcements are so short that I doubt he is saying anything about the fight.

When everyone does finally reach the bottom floor, that last kick from Solange appears to be after Jay told her to get her game face on because the world was going to be watching. Maybe that is why Beyonce is so quiet during the whole thing. She thinks that someone will see her if she starts yelling or that she might tear her dress.

Yes, Solange has had a drug problem and she could be wasted. She did yell at Rachel Roy earlier in the night. The thing is though I feel like there must have been some provocation. Something was said or done or Solange saw someone that triggered the entire episode. If Beyonce thought Solange was in the wrong do you think she would have joined Solange and let Jay-Z go off by himself? Last night Jay and Beyonce showed up at the Nets-Heat game because that is what they do. They keep their brand going and act as if nothing bad ever happens between them.

  2. Sources told Page Six that Solange had become drunk and “belligerent” at the after-party and was “like a pressure cooker waiting to explode.”

“Solange had too much to drink and was out of it by the time the performances started after the dinner at the Met Ball — she was dancing like a crazy person,” a source said.

Another source said Solange got into an argument with a pal, designer Rachel Roy, after arriving at the Standard and that Beyoncé came to her defense when another guest tried to intervene.

When the female guest asked Solange, “ ‘What is your problem?’ Beyoncé defended her sister and told the guest, ‘You don’t get to speak to my sister that way,’ ” the source said.

By the time Solange got in the elevator to leave with her sister and Jay-Z, “she flipped out over something Jay had said, that she took the wrong way,” a source told Us Weekly. “Not sure what it was, but she greatly overreacted.”

  3. My money, based on the reactions of everyone around her, is on Solange having some sort of mental health issue. The way the bodyguard restrains her is akin to how I've been trained to restrain combative children (part of my job, thankfully not my own personal kids).

  6. Honestly, I'm bored with this whole thing already. How many times can people rehash events of this video. And Beyonce is overrated and up her own backside, same for her husband, and Solange is a hanger on.

  11. I saw it as if Jay Z had done or said something that is wrong for Solange, and that Beyonce knew about that but she did not have an affirmation of which side to choose. Perhaps in Beyonce's mind at that time that it is only a regular thing, you know, like Jay Z said to Solange something like "you crazy b* calm down a little!" he made sort of comment before but never actually provoked anything brutal from Solange. Or that they did but never in public. Beyonce and the bodyguards are accustomed to it. So it is 'only' a case of wrong place, wrong time.

  12. There will never be audio. It's illegal to record conversation. And Jay Z and Bey will probably NEVER address it. Like it never happened in their bubble. Morning everyone!!

  18. See what happens when they let her out of the basement? She steals someone's prom dress,(it could also be a very ugly bridesmaid dress) gets drunk, smokes enough pot to make her violent, then starts in on her very rich BIL who undoubtedly will revoke her day passes and banish her back to the basement for a few months.

  19. I found myself mostly watching Bey & Jay. Having been in a room when a relative melted down, I can but grudgingly respect their restraint. And am I wrong or did it look like Bey stepped sort of in from of her hubby when her sister was moving towards him? I get that the bodyguard was there, but I thought that was interesting. Can't say I blame Jay for eventually getting pissed off at the BitchFingerInTheFace shit.
TL;DR Solange was batshit, whether provoked, drugged or drunk...or not. One simply does not behave in that fashion. Period.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Jay Z and Beys PR will be working overtime on this. No matter what the real story is, Solange will be made to seem mental, crazy, druggie, drunk, violent, etc. The stories are already starting to get posted from "anonymous sources".

I predict an announcement shortly that Solange is going to rehab.

Followed later by a Jay-Z/Beyonce split because of cheating/abuse. (Has no one seen the video of Jay-Z beating a woman?).

Because of course that's the story they're trying to cover up.

  23. I think it's weird that Beyoncé was so uninvolved. She didn't try to calm her sister. She didn't get angry with her sister. She didn't get angry with JayZ. She just acted like nothing was happening. It's like she was in her own little world.

  28. @Sandybrook, amazing that they'd try to blame it on marijuana use. This is not typical marijuana behaviour, unless you're looking at clips from 'Reefer Madness.'

Lots of mental health professionals on other boards offended at the idea that Solange's actions have anything to do with being bipolar. Most bipolar people are not violent, they say.

But I think we all knew that Solange would be the one to take the fall for this. She may actually be the one who deserves the blame, but she was going to take the fall anyway.

I've been in exactly that position and reacting only makes it worse-the person feeds on your reaction and escalates.....just sayin

  31. My money is on something jay z did to Beyoncé or something he did to her. If you study the body language of Beyoncé she didn't get involved but two times..once to block the two of them when solange was going extra ham and a second time like she was going to do something to jay when he grabbed solanges foot. Jay and bey exchanged some heated words then. What's most telling is bey took off with her sister and not jay in a limo. Also allegedly there was a deleted tweet from solange saying that jay had hit her sister and that is why she went in...if that's the case, I totally understand her reaction...

Also, there's been rumors for years that jay hS been physically abusive with bey at times. I can see that easily. I don't know bey personally of course but she doesn't strike me as particularly strong. Men have controlled her life for most of her life -- be it Jay or her dad. She has no voice but she does a good job of faking it. Did u see the painted on plastic smile she wore after the altercation. That's the smile of someone living a facade. Where's Hollywood dime? I know she has some interesting tea to dish on this subject..

  34. @rajah -- If you think that's normal, you might want to rethink your world. In my world, we may argue, but we don't get physical. There's no hitting, kicking or punching. That should not be normal in anyone's world.

    ReplyDelete
  35. didn't say it was normal-said it happens all of the time....... :)

my family is somewhat dysfunctional-lots of addiction issues--I've seen it all believe me

as time has gone on I've discovered more and more people with similar families unfortunately.....:(

    ReplyDelete
  36. It could be that Jay, after hearing about Solange's argument with Rachel Roy, said something to completely set her off without realizing how far gone Solange was. It's worth noting that Rachel is the ex-wife to Damon Dash, Jay's ex-BFF and Roc-a-Fella Records business partner. So that may be coming into play somehow.

You can tell from the moment they went into the elevator--Bey, Jay, and the bodyguard saw a meltdown coming. They held it together pretty well.

I think Bey went with Solange to calm her down. Jay was fine going home by himself.

No doubt the Knowles-Carter family dynamic is a weird one. No different from many families, sadly. But because we're dealing with famous people, it seems worse.

    ReplyDelete
  37. @Eros - interesting comment - "I don't know bey personally of course but she doesn't strike me as particularly strong. Men have controlled her life for most of her life -- be it Jay or her dad."

Beyonce is constantly writing and performing songs about being a strong woman - and maybe this is a version of that old saying, "You talk about what you don't have."

I can say from personal experience that my most ardently feminist friends tend to be women that married or partnered relatively young with a man whose career brought in adequate income to support the family. In other words, their lives were very traditional, but their words were out-front feminist, all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Ah, Rachel Roy..now there is a history there . Rachel was married to Damon Dash who was Jay Z's partner in RockerWear…
Rachel's was let go from Jones since her line didn't sell, she must be looking for a backer with deep pockets.

  41. @ MISCH: ah, didn't know Rachel was looking for a backer. This makes more sense now. Rachel goes to her ex's ex-friend/partner for money, and Solange thinks Jay is sleeping with Rachel?

    Hmmmm. Curiouser and curiouser.

  42. Beyoncé and jay z are hanging Solange out to dry here, that's where the anonymous sources are coming from,,it's damage limitation and Solange can't compete with them, I'm going to assume Solange was defending her sister now or thinks her sister should defend her. Either way this ain't going to be happy for a whole while.

  43. People who say bi-polar people aren't violent just haven't met a violent person who happens to be bi-polar. Mental illness is just part of a person, not the whole person, and if she's violent to begin with, being off her meds would just exacerbate it.

    LOL@veee. The Twitter blow-up of #WhatJayZSaidToSolange cracked me up. It's guilt laugh, I know I shouldn't but I do.

    ReplyDelete
  44. It seems to me to be a family issue. I'm sure they'll figure it out.

    ReplyDelete
  45. @ Nutty Flavor. That makes sense to me about your friends who are feminists...I have always been a little weirded out by some of the more extreme feminism. Your friends sound like they have a healthy balance of feminism in healthy relationships with good strong men. You can't ask for anything more right.

A part of me really likes bey because down deep I think she is a simple woman with simple needs. That is just the vibe I get from her. I get that same vibe with Jessica Simpson... They don't strike me as the jaded Hollywood vamp types like Rihanna or Angelina Jolie... Almost like a fish out of water feel..

Anyways my thought is just because you aren't strong doesn't mean that over time you won't become that strong woman. So there's still hope for her I think... Did u see blind gossips reveal today... Very interesting...it doesn't sound like a healthy situation. Beys net worth is 350 million. Would u trade your peace of mind for that chaos? I wouldn't.

You fucktards would be singing a differnt tune if the table were reversed and the body guard was holding Jay-Z back from hitting Solange. I know a bunch of you commenters are women so go ahead a write how proud you are of her and how Jay-Z and Beyonce now have to cover up their brand and all your other bullshit but none of you say anything about hitting a man? ReplyDelete
  49. Yeah it's shady. And while I don't condone violence in any form or fashion, it's obviously something within their family. If J truly beats B and she keeps her mouth shut and does nothing about it simply because of the cash or fame or appearance or whatever, then I can't find a lot of pity. That's refusing to face reality and putting your life and your child's life in danger simply to keep up appearances and money flowing in. She has no backbone if she sticks around thru cheating and beating. And maybe solange has indeed went around the bend, I don't know. But that's no reason to get violent. If her sister is perfectly fine with the situation, maybe solange should just keep out of it. Here's a question for you: if the roles were reversed do you think Beyoncé would act the same as solange...?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No reason to get violent? If either of my sisters were being beat by their husband/SO I would happily and without a second thought beat them with my shoe. Violence is not the answer- unless, apparently, it is. Sometimes you just gotta defend yours, whatever the cost.

      Delete
    2. @rosie riveter even if your siste obviously didn't give two craps about it? Because your sister would rather stay on the cash and fame train? And really, who's to say this is about that? It could've been any number of things they were arguing about. Maybe solange was jacked out of her mind, itching for a fight, and j simply told her to stfu and there it went. Maybe they fought over where to eat at or something. I just think after awhile, if "yours" isn't willing to change their situation and do what needs to be done after umpteen years, and you're most likely on payroll too, you shouldn't resort to violence. Simply my view that I'm entitled to as you are to yours. I can't defend someone who can't be bothered enough to give a shit about their own life.

  50. I don't think there's been any proof that he has been beating her........

  51. I am not sure what is going on with Solange but it cannot have been easy being Beyonce's sister you know Beyonce got all of her parents attention. It is not easy being the sibling of anyone who is more successful than you and some parents at least try to treat their kids equally but other clearly do not. Kudos to Beyonce tries to make up for that. I have to go listen to Solange's music because maybe the girl does have talent but it will always be overshadowed.

However if she having so much trouble dealing with being the lesser sister and it ends up in violence and rages she needs help.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Or maybe Solange needs to live her own life apart from her sister and her master/husband.

Sounds like Solange got drunk and decided she wasn't going to be an automaton anymore. Jay fucked Rachel, Solange's former friend and Damon Dash's ex. Remember the Jay-Damon rift? Yikes. Solange probably decided it was enough already. Or he said disgusting, controlling things to Bey again, as he is won't to do, and Solange had enough.

  56. Ok, this rubbed me the wrong way, Evie, BATH SALTS??? Wtf? What an ignorant comment!! Seriously? What in that video made you think that Bath salts were involved?!?! I have my assumptions as to why though! SMH

I also still stand by my assessment yesterday that girl was drunk, she has history with this - and if she isn't already, she will be in rehab momentarily. Haven't you ever been out with people that drink Whiskey? Can be the sweetest person and after a few, bam, evil twin comes out!! Example, my sister!!! 57. The reason why women in these situations do not leave are very complex so I am not so sure it is fair to judge. A woman with the wealth of someone like Beyonce theoretically can afford to leave, can afford bodyguards and the security she is probably going to need to leave this guy if she wanted to, but look what Tommy Mottola did to Mariah, he tried to destroy her career. And for Beyonce and Mimi, their careers are their self identity. Mimi had the guts to leave. Now all I know about Mottola is he was a total control freak. I call it yeah you are a princess but you are locked up in the castle so was it worth it?

And that said for whatever reason your sister is not leaving a situation that is not going to stop a sister from caring reacting, though yes it is inappropriate to react to violence with violence or react in anger in violence to anything.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Sorry Rosie, but nope, don't think it was a reference to the "taking marijuana" above it. Still think it's an ignorant comment. And for the record, I am chill doll.

I agree that they are going to spin this that solange has problems no matter what but the video of her walking to the car (after the elevator) doesn't show someone super drunk to me. She looks angry but she walks fine. She doesn't seem medicated or wasted.

  60. Theory: Jay Z promised Solange career boost in exchange for cookies. Cookies given. No career boost. J promises Rachel they'll 'talk' about her need for backing.

Solange flips out. Beyonce used to it. Knows the score. Not jealous - solely with J as a brand.Protective of sister.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I have a friend who loses her shot like this if she is drunk. 3 shots of jäger and the punches start flying. She can still walk and seems rational, but she is on antidepressants and it's a bad combo. All it would take is a few drinks for Solange to go off the deep end if she is mixing it with antidepressants. J could have said so,etching like "you aren't supposed to drink" and that's all it would take for the rage machine to unleash. They behaved exactly as you should when dealing with someone with mental issues, you don't make any sudden movements, you don't egg it on, and you wait for it to pass. Say what you want about pr, or what brought it on, but Solange obviously has ongoing issues and her sister probably doesn't want to out her, not to ruin the brand but because her sister probably really wants success and bey doesn't want to be responsible for her sister losing that. Because you can bet in her mind already it's bey's fault she acted like that. Mental illness is no joke, and it's no conspiracy either.

    1. @secretssecrets good point...I can agree with you. It's a double standard. I've only hit a man once in my life and that was because I'd suffered his abuse for 3 years and I figured it was high time. A person can only take so much. Anyways. I always knew if you're gonna act like a man be prepared to get treated like one. A female can't thrash someone and expect him to let her. They'll eventually break. But then it goes back to the point as to why anyone's resorting to violence at all. Whether it be man or woman, if you assault someone, it should carry the same weight across the board as far as charges. Just my opinion.

      Delete
  63. And in reference to my above post, had either one of us been reported and charged with assault, it is what it is. I had no right to hit him and had I been charged, it would have sucked, but I'd have taken my lumps. Neither one of us ever had the other one charged and me hitting him was wrong. I just reached my boiling point.

  67. @single man, for someone that knows a lot I'm surprised you don't know to not use the term retarded as an insult or slur.

Isn't this the same video as yesterday Enty? I wouldn't hold my breath for an extended Director's Cut version. We see them getting on and off the elevator so I doubt there is extra footage deleted from the middle.

Sure it's a double standard at the lack of outrage for Solange to be arrested. I can't shed any tears or concerns for Jay Z though. He's known to be violent and someone who stabs men or beats women should be able to take a few punches and kicks.

I did find Beyonce's behavior odd, and not just because she isn't trying to break it up. In the beginning when her sister comes at Jay Z and then Jay falls into B she doesn't even put her hands up to prevent them from knocking into her. That might be a strange thing to consider odd but I like my personal space and it would be an automatic reaction for me to block if I see someone going to push into me.
