Britney Spears Signs Up For Two More Years In Vegas

Well, if you were worried you wouldn't get a chance to see Britney Spears in Vegas before her contract runs out, don't worry because she is signing up for two more years and $12M. I think it is the perfect solution for her. She gets to keep making money which makes those close to her happy. She doesn't have to work that many days a year but makes as much as she would from touring every couple of years. I wouldn't be shocked if the people around her start getting greedy though and sign Britney up for the same type of thing in London. Have her go over there and do the same type of show in one place where they can make a lot of money without too much hassle. Just load Britney up on a plane and park her in a hotel with 20 guys to watch over her and trot her out once a night for a few weeks. I wonder if she would rather perform or just go home to Louisiana and hang out there.

  1. Leave Britney Alone!

Poor Brit Brit. I picture her being pulled around on puppet strings. Make her smile! Make her dance!

  3. London has the worlds most Billionaires. That is why it is Lohans favorite travel destination...

  4. I wish I'd get paid $12m to have medical handlers--err-- back up dancers shuffle me around a stage while I flip my wig and fart.

And I totally paid to see her in February.

  5. I wonder if she even knows what planet she's on.

  6. I don't think they really do that sort of show in London do they? It's quite specifically a Vegas sort of thing. Poor Brit though. She's looking a bit long in the tooth to be prancing around on stage for another couple of years.

  7. Haven't seen her show! Nor am I ever going to see her show! And, I live in Las Vegas, NV!

  8. Gosh it took me forever to remember what Brits situation reminded me of and it's Frances Farmer. I wonder if the future us will look back and see how horrific and tragic her situation truly is.

  9. Is that the picture they went with to promote her show?

  10. So shes too incompetent to make choices control her finances or raise her kids. But capable enough to lip sync for 90 minutes.

    Wow.

  11. Is her show worth seeing? I'm going to Vegas on Wednesday and can't decide if it's worth the time and money.

  12. @Nosy I doubt it. I have only seen her "live" televised and I have seen Drag Performers do a better Britney Spears than Britney Spears doing Britney Spears these days...

  13. Anytime I see a story about her that says "Britney Signed On" or "Britney Decided to do X,Y,or Z" it makes me so sad. She doesn't decide to do anything. There is no way this guardianship would still be going on if she could make decisions.

  14. It could be Branson, Mo. Shes lucky.

  15. I thought I read somewhere where her show wasn't making any money? Her demographic doesn't seem like the type to blow a bunch of cash in the casino which is supposed to be the point of any entertainment they sign.

  17. @Nosy, I went last week - it was a fun dance party to go to with you friends...go to the show with average expectations, and you will enjoy the show.

  18. @Dorothy - Britney's "demographic" are all in their late 20s to mid 30s - plus gays of all ages.

They can afford to see her. And yeah - everytime I read "why doesn't she say enough is enough" I think awww, it's because she isn't capable of making her own decisions. :(

I think she'd be happiest in a nice home in Louisiana - nothing too fancy but nice & clean & spacious with a pool and maybe a dog the nanny feeds.

  19. I bet Brittany likes to perform.

I think of her as a Norma Desmond-type figure, lurking alone in her large mansion, still imagining she's the biggest star in the land, and her father is the Max von Mayerling who keeps her delusions real because he loves her.

  20. Okay, first I thought the shows were a good idea - allow her to perform which she claims to love, without all the travel and disruption for her kids. Then there's the picture(s) with Gaga and sorry, but that doesn't look like Brit Brit at all. Now she's signed up to another 2 years of this while her Dad and lawyer earn even more money for 'managing her affairs' which can't be anywhere what they used to be.

  21. Oh for fuck's sake, let the woman retire....

  22. She is a born performer and I think she will always need an audience to entertain. She would go stir crazy sitting in a big house back home in LA. Even there, you can't just leave her to her own devices. If my understanding of her situation is correct, she would still need handlers and someone to make sure the kids are safe and tended to*, yes?

She may practically be medicated into a trance, but if she wants to be on stage... I don't think it's a bad thing.

    * I don't think she wants to hurt her kids, but if she's not thinking clearly or having an "episode", she could get into all kinds of tragic business.

  23. I have doubts Britney is even the one performing most of the time. Let's face it, a lot of people look like her.

  24. it's making money-try to get tickets and you will see

I don't know-I think she does it because she wants to

  25. I've seen her "perform" post 5150 and she's fabulous. Let her dance y'all. $12 million for 2 more years isn't enough though IMO.

  26. it's good that they are extending the show. It's structured and gives her something to do. It seems she has multiple personality disorder and bipolar disorder so at least she can do this and earn as much money now so that she can be taken care of comfortably in the event anything happens to her parents.

  27. Topper and NomNom are most likely correct. Her family is supportive and cares for her well being. If anyone was taking advantage of her the courts would know about it. Her dad was quite happy being a personnel chef. He stepped up and is helping his daughter because he lives her, I'm sure. He is not her mother.

Schizophrenics aren't like what most of you describe. Sure it varies in every individual. Brittney appears to be taking her meds and functioning as best as she is able to do so. The meds alone can have harsh side affects.

If anyone had a heart attack and went back to work no one would criticize them or their families. You'd rightly assume that the doctors had cleared them healthy to work. Mental illness is an illness, just like a physical illness. Time we as a society start treating them the same.

Lay off Brittney and her father and handlers. She's giving it her all. She isn't doing it self-imposed like a lot of celebrities. I applaud her for getting up every day, putting her Uggs on the correct feet, going out for ice cream or soccer practice and lip syncing (as most do if they're crazy dancing) and learning those stage moves. Rock it girl!

  28. Saw her on Friday. Loved the shit out of the show. Leave Britney alone, y'all!

  29. Cosign with NomNom. Sitting around doing nothing is rough on anyone, and would probably lead to disaster with her. This is fairly undemanding, no long video shoots, no new stuff to learn; easy money.
