Brangelina Bail On Promised Donation

While visiting Australia earlier this year, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wanted to visit a theme park with their kids. Unable or unwilling to do so during regular business hours, they convinced Dreamworld to stay open late four separate nights and in return for the privilege promised to make a donation to the wildlife fund of the park. According to the Courier Mail no such donation has ever been received and the park is ticked off because they had to pay salaries and extra expenses of all the workers who stayed late those four nights. I'm surprised this made it out publicly. You would think the park would have been in touch with the same people who arranged the four visits and asked for the donation. Brad and Angelina don't like this kind of negative publicity so I expect someone will get fired. If Brad and Angelina make a financial commitment, they usually follow through.

  1. You assume too much Enty. This was done to publicly shame them into making the donation, most probably because they tried to get it on the d/l and got no results.

  2. You always assume the worst of ppl. This sounds like bs to me.

  3. @ Sandybrook Or else something got lost in communication. Anyone can get an 'overdue' or 'unpaid' notice for a bill they never received in the first place.

  5. Word, Sandybrook. Angie is gonna consciously couple her foot into someone's gluten free ass for trying to leak shit. You know, with hearts full of sadness and whatever.

  6. Maybe--just maybe they saw something there that made them change their minds about the donation. Zoos and wildlife in captivity are hot topics right now so there could be something going on there. Don't spread hate on a Friday Enty. That is no way to slide into a weekend...and a long one for America too.

  8. A donation? They should have charged them up front, so there wouldn't be an issue.

    1. I know! I would say if you want us to stay up in those four nights it will cost $____, full payment or at least a deposit upfront.

  9. I actually hold the Brange blameless because they have ppl on payroll to handle this shit for them and they dropped the ball. I would bet they had no idea about any of this from the original agreement to what we've got now.

  11. Agree that Brangelina should have just been charged an exorbitant fee for the park to open after-hours.

  12. So much entitlement. Just go to the park at the normal time like the rest of us plebs.

  13. I would've charged them the private event fee (x4).

  17. I don't know if it's true, but someone on ROL was crying BS as apparently their donation can be seen in Brangie's tax return? I'm not a fan, but this doesn't seem like something they'd do.

  18. This means someone on their staff screwed up. Both of them donate most of their salaries to charity. They both have so much giving a few 10 thousand or even 100 thousand doesn't change their std of living but they know it can help others.

  19. Not to defend the dynamic duo, but they would never shuck their promise. There is miscommunication or someone in the Brangelina camp dropped the ball. Ang and Brad don't write the checks themselves.

  20. Someone should get fired. If it was one of Brangelina's people, they violated the trust of their employer. If it was one of the park's people, they should be fired for not keeping donor information confidential.

  22. Maybe one of the amusement park's employees looked someone in Brangelina's party in the eye or addressed them directly.. Deal Off!!

  23. Why didn't the park just charge them extra to pay for the salaries and stuff?

    1. Reno - I think they didn't charge them anything to keep part open because they had an understanding that this 'donation' would happen.

  24. Wow. Like a veritable Oracle, I opened those of CDaN to this twinkly important news on yesterday's last post.

Today, local time, I heard that Maddox airlifted in a bunch of endangered jungle cats and cash, droping them straight into the wildlife refuge.

    Amazing!

  25. OMG people have such short memories -- Angie and Brad were heavily criticized as basically colonial overlords with the way they shut down vast swaths of public beach in Namibia and used the military as their own personal bodyguards with the birth of Shiloh. Angie's basically an idiot when it comes to international relations (see her movie about the Bosnian rape camp survivor who loved her Serbian rapist). You guys give these two way too much credit. And this "It's on their taxes!" bullshit is bullshit -- first of all, the trip was this year, they haven't even filed taxes. Second, no fucking way do celebrities release their personal tax return information to the public; even people running for office don't have any obligation to do that, though they often will. So show me their tax returns. Yeah, that's what I thought.

  26. the brange wouldn't have wanted to pay b/c if you donate you can write it off on the taxes.. big difference. the brange employees probably dropped the ball b/c they always make good on their charities
    not cool GOOP

  27. Hmm, I think Amy does not like the Brangelina.

Agree with the above that one of their employees dropped the ball. And whatever idiot thought the best idea would be to ask for a donation instead of charging a special request fee is scurrying around trying to mop up their mess.

It's not the money they really care about, they wanted to be another gold star on the Brangelina list for the donations and publicity it would bring. They couldn't get that, so rather than get in contact with their people, let's report that two people who donate millions to charity are a*holes who don't follow through on donation promises.

  28. 'K Amy, you're not a fan. We get it. LOL But take a chill pill and consider just a couple of factors here: First of all, it was the Namibia govt that tripped all over itself to make Brangie happy, whether they wanted it or not. The president (? - or whoever) said so himself, several times. Secondly, you clearly never saw the movie AJ made or even read a synopsis about it, apparently, cuz that's not what happened.

And third, this is about an accounting issue and you cannot seriously think that Brad and Angie sit down with the checkbook once a month and pay their own bills. They also have waaaaay too much money and fame, which is at least partly built on "doing the right thing" in this world, not to make good on their promises. The brand would be destroyed. So surely even you, in your blind rage of hatred, can concede that maybe they didn't really do anything wrong here.

  30. Thankyou Penny Lane!

Dreamworld host after hours events and private visits all the time. They have more than enough money to cover the costs of wages and not to mention the free publicity! Nowhere in the Courier Mail article is there a complaint directly from Dreamworld, it's all third party speculation.

    This whole story is bullshit.
