This B list mostly movie actress who has a famous acting sister said she was trying to speak to this A+ list celebrity in her own world that was seated next to her and just couldn't form a sentence. She said that she got a lot of umms out of her mouth before the A+ lister just smiled and faced the other direction.

ReplyDeleteThe only person I could not form a sentence to was Vince Gilligan. After I somehow stammered out my question, I ran to the bathroom and instantly puked out of nervousness. I've met all sorts of famous and scary ass people, but VG seriously gave me a fucking heart attack. One of my colleagues was hired as a consultant on the XFiles Chupacabra episode back in the day and will not stop giving me shit about it.

Why would any woman be speechless around her? She's the one who handed over women's fashion to gay men. What women designers has she ever promoted? Her 25 years at Vogue have been TERRIBLE for women designers. She would rather have her gay male friends who are NO THREAT to her and her job.
ReplyDeleteI would submit Studio54 that women's fashion has always been in the hands of gay men. Now you may be right that she has made it even harder or worse for female designers because frankly I could count on my two hands the number of Vogue issues I have bought in a lifetime. When I was younger they were too expensive and when I was older, didn't care. I only know about Anna Wintour from gossip rags. I also trust that not all women live and breathe by the dictates of Vogue and other fashion magazines do support female designers. What gets me is the female designers who seem to be as misogynistic as some of the gay designers.
