This B list mostly movie actress sibling of an almost A list mostly movie actor had a meeting which was a formality prior to being cast in a new movie. She was such a pain to everyone she met that day and acted like a diva that the director told the producers he couldn't work with the actress. The producers decided to hire her anyway and she signed the contract. Before shooting even began everyone decided she had to go and the producers ate her entire $2M salary just because she wasn't worth the hassle.

ReplyDeleteI think both Gyllenhaal's are overrated, as far as their acting ability is concerned. Maggie is the female version of James Franco, in my opinion. All artsy pretense, no substance to back it up. The whole I-poop-sonnets thing is irritating as hell.

ReplyDeleteYes, McLaine and Beatty are siblings. I can't imagine this is either Joan OR Maggie. Both are too well known and can stand on their own. If either one acted diva before, it would be better known, I'd think.

DeleteI can't understand why ANYONE would hire Maggie G. for a film. Her parents must have some serious pull. She is NOT pretty. If she played a character actress I wouldn't have a problem with her, but to believe that Christian Bale or Jeff Bridges would fall in love with her? No freaking way!

ReplyDeleteMaggie Gyllenhaal? I heard some horror stories from the set of Sherrybaby. That was several years ago, so she could've smartened up since then, but she does come across as difficult to me. She's also the only one I can think of who would be that expensive.

How about Peter and Jane Fonda. I can see a studio paying the 2 million dollar contract, rather than fight with her for an entire movie. Something tells me she'd be hell on wheels on set if she didn't like the director or how the movie was going.
