Blind Item #8

This former A+ list mostly movie actor still was arguably the greatest at one role which has seen many actors. He has a significant other but for the past two weeks has been spotted emerging from the home of this A list mostly movie actress after her kids go to school.

  2. Would Brosnan really be considered better than Connery in that role?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Well that's good we all think a different Bond was the best one.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Connery has dementia I think and too old(as is) Moore who was MY fave Bond..to renevouz with a woman young enough to have have kids going to school, I think anyway

    1. I thought Connery was almost incoherent these days. I'm no longer so angry he didn't have a cameo in Indiana Jones Crystal Skullfuckery. I was PISSED, no one in casting thought of my CHILDHOOD!!! But, I now CHOOSE (don't correct me if I'm wrong!) to believe he just wasn't capable of filming anymore by that point. Sads

  5. The only other character that comes to kind other than a Bond right now would be Johnny Depp as Hunter S Thompson, which was also played by Bill Murray and I think maybe one other actor?

  6. One of the Who Doctors? I love Pierce Brosnan but I can't see him being the best Bond. OR messing around. What are some other iconic roles...

    2. I think most people do. I hope they do a movie. But I still don't mind RDJ as Sherlock. I would've LOVED Cumsinbatches for Dr Who though. Le sigh

    3. Silly, I never even thought of him for that role. Was he considered? I'm not sure how I feel about Peter, hopefully he's not too "dark" in the role.

  8. Craig was least impressive of the lot....not him for this BI anyway lol

    1. I stopped watching the movies once Brosnan left. Craig is too prissy looking for the role, IMO.

    2. Absolutely agree...I just don't get him as Bond, it reminds me of Christopher Eccelston (Sp) as Dr Who..bad choice.

  9. Though I do think Connery is the best, with Craig being a close 2nd, I think this is Craig. No one wants that nasty stinkin drunk Connery all up on them.

    1. Agree. It says 'was' A+ list. Some of us are old enough to remember Keaton's run as beetlejuice, mr. Mom, night shift, etc. at one point he was in everything

  14. Michael Keaton? I wouldn't consider Brosnon mostly movie or A+. I'm thinking Batman and I'd still consider Bale A+ list currently.

  15. What/who is Michael Keaton doing these days?? Still my favorite batman.

  17. Brosnan has said he thought he wasn't a very good Bond and can't watch himself in those movies. I've never watched a Bond movie, but I did love him with Rene Russo in The Thomas Crown affair. I think I need to watch that again...

    LOL @ ButterKwup!

    1. It would be hard to argue that Clooney was the best Batman.

      Delete
    2. True, but the mention of the past two weeks and "significant other" is what strikes me as Clooney

      Delete
    3. I think "arguably" is the key word, right? Then Enty can later reveal it as pretty much anyone. :-)

      Delete
  19. Wouldn't have Enty stated wife as opposed to significant other? All the Bonds with the exception of Dalton are married.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Connery must be dick-o-pausic by now. Please, men over 50 and Scottish, DO NOT read my comment.

    ReplyDelete
  21. It could be:

    Bond
    Batman
    Superman (although Reeves is dead)
    Spider-Man
    Holmes
    Robin Hood

    ReplyDelete
  22. Batmen: Keaton, Bale, Kilmer, Clooney... which of these has "significant others" and not wives?

    ReplyDelete
  23. This comment has been removed by the author.

  24. Agreed.. Bale's the best (IMO). But he's married... so, guess not him.

    ReplyDelete
  25. What about Colin Firth - the role being Mr Darcy. Just to throw another name into the mix.
It can't be Daniel - he is our local big name celeb, seen in an off licence just round the corner from my house just a few weeks back on a trip back 'home'. On that basis alone he is untouchable.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I think this is Johnny Depp or George Clooney

    ReplyDelete
  27. I want to know who the A-list woman w/the kids is...

    ReplyDelete
  28. Colonel totally off market this time( finally)
    I still think it's a Bond guy
And the actress is gwyneth, I've decided
Making actor LA based where she now is again full time

    ReplyDelete
  29. Keaton is forever my fave too.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Aw, man, my first thought was a Hamlet, and that this another Kenneth Branagh/Helena Bonham Carter blind.

    *slinks off*

    ReplyDelete
  31. Please not Firth. If McHale is a dog, then at least let Colin be....not that way.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Can't it even be a political figure like Abraham Lincoln, someone like Daniel Day Lewis would fit. Or someone who played Jesus? It surely doesn't have to be a comic book character.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Maybe Enty is saying the only good thing this actor did in his career was Bond and then they stank at everything else? Timothy Dalton came to mind but then he's not married even. Dang..Lost another one.

    ReplyDelete
  34. This is Christian Bale. Significant other also means wife. The actress... Kate Hudson.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Christian Bale and Kate Hudson share the same agent...

    ReplyDelete
  36. Keaton? Kilmer? Clooney? Bale? There is no argument - the best Batman was Adam West
Choosing Jokers between Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger and Cesar Romero is worthy of a debate..

  37. I wouldn't call Bale a "former" A+ mostly movie actor.

I would call Keaton one, though. But there'd have to be a somewhat significant age difference between Keaton and an A-list mostly movie actress with kids still in school...

    1. OMG How the hell did I miss this yesterday?

Oh yeah, I was taking the most difficult final I've ever encountered and then had to work.

Eh, Keaton can still get it. He is the greatest actor of all time.

      Delete
  39. it says 'former' A+.

that lets out some of the guesses. i liked the bale guess.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I agree Bale and Hudson - she fools around with anybody and everybody.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Connery was the only Bond. Everyone else is, at best, a pale imitation.

    ReplyDelete
  42. TIMOTHY OLYPHANT

jeez I've been trying to post this comment for like an hour now and the mobile version of this site hates my phone. Well this was way more amusing an hour ago...

    ReplyDelete
  43. @Violet, I am ashamed to admit that I thought Firth for Darcy, but would it say "significant other" when he's been married for nearly 20 years? Plus... who would it be? (Gags on thought of Nicole Kidman.)

Haha, I loved RDJ's Sherlock Holmes' movies, but they were like fun fanfic cousins of the actual canon. To say his was the best (even arguably) Sherlock is just plain silly. Jeremy Brett, for the best Victorian-era Holmes, IMHO.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Andrew I agree, Connery IS Bond.

I also think Keaton was bet Batman. Whatever happened to him, tho, after Batman he kind of died. Hope it's not him. I don't think significant other is a wife.

"Many" actors doesn't signify only 3 or 4 to me. I was also thinking someone like Branaugh, but he's done a ton of theater. But many sounds like it could be something Shakespeare, or yeah Sherlock, altho Benedict doesn't have a SO at this time, and also this is someone older.

    ReplyDelete
  45. @Msgirl: Keaton/Nicholson got major points in Batman, then Keaton again in the subsequent films. He probably had enough $$ he was happy.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Kurt Russell
    Character: Wyatt Earp

Actress: Jennifer Garner cause lord knows she needs some lovin...

    ReplyDelete
  47. Keaton was definitely A+ in the 80's. Dream Team, Mr. Mom, Clean and Sober.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Hmm, it's a slightly older man, someone who played a famous role awhile ago,,,been others since,,,he is very famous for it though,,,, woman could be anyone with school age kids. Sounds like something julia roberts would do, but she likes em younger? ,,,Anyway,,can't be Connery or Moore,,,they are too old and very sadly seemingly Connery is suffering from dementia.

  49. Harrison Ford (Jack Ryan)? Alec Baldwin, Ben Affleck, Chris Pine were the other actors.

  50. Anthony Hopkins - Hannibal Lector

  54. Great Esquire article on Micheal Keaton, my favorite Batman too:

He lives up in Montana now. Does what he wants, when he wants. Is in the new Robocop.

    Guessing this is Bale.

    1. Lazenby---> Dalton ---> Brosnan ---> Moore ---> Craig. I have NEVER liked woman beater/cheater Connery.

Kilmer ---> Bale ---> Keaton. Clooney was awful.

I hope this isn't Brosnan! After his 1st wife and stepdaughter's untimely deaths, he has been thru the ringer, and truly does seem devoted to Keely and their boys.

      Keaton..

  57. Olyphant has been married for about 20 years I think. (Damn it). And he's not known for one role although he's made several roles his own.

I'm so sorry to hear about Connery having dementia. He's my favorite Bond. That said I like Craig's interpretation quite a bit. His Bond is a reboot, a Bond who fits more of today's views.

Whoever said Cumberbatch would make a great Dr. Who is on the money. I think his "Sherlock" made it impossible but that would've been great.

  60. How about The Hulk? Actors who have played Bruce Banner (aka the Hulk):Bill Bixby, Lou Ferrigno, Eric Bana, Ed Norton and Mark Ruffalo. Lou Ferrigno: The body-builder and actor is best-known for “The Incredible Hulk” in the TV series that first aired in 1978 and ran until 1982, totaling 82 episodes.

  62. Sean Connery was the best Bond, but this guy is younger, so I'm jumping on the Bale train.

  63. I think Val Kilmer was the best Doc Holliday in Tombstone... Isnt Harrison still stuck up in Toronto filming w/ Blake L ?
