Blind Item #5

This sometime A+ list mostly movie actor was hammered when he bet almost $500K during a trip to Vegas last week and lost it all. He also spilled a several thousand dollar bottle of wine all over the table. Not Ben Affleck.

  1. Nic Cage (if he has any money left).

  3. I'm really skeptical that any bottle of wine is worth several thousand dollars. I'm not surprised a nouveau riche movie star paid that, but I don't believe that any wine is worth it.

  4. Doesn't Brad Pitt like to gamble? He's a 'sometime' actor and 'sometime' producer. And he certainly has the cash to drop.

  5. Billboard awards were in Vegas last week but I got nothing.

Wahlberg bc he's a garbage human.

  9. This is not 2004 and Toby Maguire is not A+ anywhere, except maybe his cup size.

  11. Lesson: dont be clumsy with the pricey wine.

  12. Wahlberg advertises openly what a douche he is on The Wahlbergers. I like his brothers and stuff but bc of him I've never managed to watch another episode.

  13. Another reason why Actors don't deserve the amount of money they make.....

  14. All hotels and restaurants but esp Vegas mark up already expensive wines hugely, so not surprised they have a few special bottles in the wine cellar for the high rollers who like to flaunt their wealth and/or wine connoisseurship.

  15. On top of that, Tina. If a guy is dropping 500k gambling, spending a few grand on a bottle of wine is like picking up some Boone's Farm to you and I.

  16. I've always liked wahlberg...but I'm clueless as to what makes him such a douchebag. Someone fill me in!!

    1. Courtney, Harry has the goods but in short, Mark was a drug addled thug who committed pretty vicious hate crimes growing up.

At 15 he and some friends followed and attacked a group of African American kids, throwing racial slurs (and rocks) at them.

He later attacked and permanently blinded and disfigured a Vietnamese neighbor. Nearly killed the guy.

When he has been asked if he ever apologized to the man, he says no bc he's forgiven himself in the eyes of The Lord and that's all that counts.

    2. @kristin thanks! Well that certainly changes my view on him. I think he's a good actor and while it's fine and dandy The good Lord and him have talked things over and moved on, I think quite a few apologies to those he terrorized would go a long way. Maybe he does things on the dl but still...never knew that about him!

  17. I'll go for Matt Damon. The only reason I have was a few years ago he was reported gambling at an Indian casino in Connecticut. That and the fact he is joined at the hip with Ben Affleck.

  18. So whoever it was spilled the wine over the table, and not Ben Affleck - who presumably was sitting next to him then... So who hangs with Affleck?

I've had a glass of wine that on it's own was over $1000. I told my friend, the vineyard owner, that it was fantastic. In case he charged me. But I wouldn't have known if he gave me a $10 glass.

  19. Alright, alright, alright?
(Or "award winning" preceded the ranking?)

  21. Its funny how Mark Whalberg was so racist back in the day against black people & yet he started his career imitating hip hop culture which was created & predominated by the very people he hated. What a hypocritical jerk!

  22. On the loathing Mark Whalberg train....
I could never understand his appeal, always looked like a pockmarked little punk, with bad hair, to me.

But even better - my actor friend who was in a pretty big movie with Him (a movie he himself didn't produce - maybe his break out movie,IDK) confirmed that Wahlberg is the ultimate cocky jerk who blew a dude to get the role. ( I have more deets that were convincing to me, and I'm not as gullable as I play on TV)

  23. After much contemplation, I have not one fuck to give. I gave all my fucks at the office. I've fucked my way to the top.
Apparently I'm a world class porn star with amazing talents.

  25. If I remember correctly, Wahlberg avoided prosecution for the injuries to the Vietnamese guy by pledging a portion of his future earnings in perpetuity. So, for all of you wondering how to get out of jail time after committing a crime, there it is . . .

    ReplyDelete
  26. @CoBe, Wahlberg did go to jail for his assault. He spent less than a year there, but still he did time.

I'm fairly convinced that Wahlberg has paid both civilly and personally for his teenaged sins. He just doesn't want to talk about it.

I don't like him much. He's got that Boston total douchebag attitude down pat. But given the horrific crimes that the Hollywood machine has covered up or shrugged off, at least Mark was legally tried and convicted...and hasn't made any attempt to hide it.

  27. Plot, it's called being a "Masshole". I grew up there. I have a friend that gets into fist fights over being cutoff in traffic ever time he goes home. He's much more reserved here in AZ. It's a disease with these guys.

  28. I knew one of Wahlberg's former bodyguards and he confirmed that Marky Mark did enjoy the company of men from time to time. We're talking late 90's before the wife, but he was definitely into coke and male hookers.

  29. So he didn't spill the wine on Ben Affleck. That's good. Spill the wine dig that girl.
