Your Turn

A Mrs. Doubtfire sequel is being made starring Robin Williams and directed by Chris Columbus. Mara Wilson says she doesn't want to be a part of it. Should they made a sequel?

  2. Its a ridiculous idea second only to remaking it with an entirely different cast.

    1. Actually, I Can see it.
Grown up kids want to ...tour Europe, whatev.and they need a babysitter for all the kids because... Whatev
Since Robin never changed after his stint as Doubtfire and was as much a dick as ever to the kids as they grew up, they are estranged and Crap all over his idea to watch the grandkids.
Enter Mrs Doubtfire, only he's changed her appearance so the kids don't twig.
Oh the HILARITY as Doubtfire tries to control the 8? More?..kids..
We the audience, will pee our pants just like we did for Cheaper By the Dozen!

    1. It's official. The Hollywood idea well has run dry!

  6. Shouldn't sequels be made in the same decade as the first movie??

  7. It'll find itself in the same bargain bin as The Goonies remake. Never mess with a classic (even a corny one).

  8. Correction: A new script has been written for a proposed sequel. They've been writing scripts for it since 2001; so far, no dice

  9. Hollywood should seek out and encourage original films/scripts along with new directors to make them happen.

    The end.

  14. While I'm always glad to see Pierce Brosnan, I doubt he would be in this one. Also, like most of the kids here, I think this is kind of lame anyway.

  15. I think I've voiced my opinion enough on sequels and remakes and reality oh my! for everyone to know what the hell I think of this "idea".

  16. Please no remake, I really disliked the original. In fact I don't like Robin Williams as a comedian. Love his serious roles, but that whole Mork bit is not funny in every comedy.

  17. $$$$$, that's all these studios care about, I'm all about profit, but sometimes you must ask, just because you can do something, should you (Nod to Jeff Goldblum, sorta)..

  18. Why? How? The whole family already knows...as does the world, since Mrs. Doubtfire ended up with a talk show or something at the end.

  19. One of the more un-sequel-able films there are. What a silly idea.

Lucas CAN do wrong. To wit: JAR JAR FUCKING BANKS. Endless tinkering with the original Star Wars trilogy, not making the original (unchanged) trilogy available on technology better than VHS... ;-)

  22. Yeah yeah Snap, but I was talking about Empire.
I won't even get into the travesty 3 things he made.
    Made Ewoks seem ok

  23. If they could somehow recapture the magic of the original I would love it. Very hard to do though and sounds more desperation.

  24. Granted it has been years since I have seen this movie but.. didn't it all come out in the end? Didn't the Mom find out who Mrs Doubtfire was?!

How in the hell are they gonna shove him back into a skirt?!

Or, did Mrs Doubtfire get her own show at the end? Maybe they are going that route?

Like I said, it has been years since I have seen it and kinda forgot most of it. Except the "Drive by fruiting".. That still cracks me up!

  25. Robin Williams needs the money, it is just like Godfather III just a money grab at past success due to present failures and will bomb.
